Team Rocket League would be good. The people at arcade club vs the Canadian players. Or arcade club vs another team.

Which games actually support HDR? I can't find any that do. Apparently my TV supports it, so I want to give it a test.

Goafer And I Started A Let's Play YouTube Channel....
Goafer replied to ReZourceman's topic in General Chit Chat
We've changed the format slightly, with one long running series and a few mini series. First mini series is Surgeon Simulator, which went up today: The main playthrough is Super Meat Boy, but that might change soon... -
Thanks, it's very much appreciated. I still don't know what to expect this year or how successful the event is going to be, but every donation helps towards making it the biggest event yet.

We'll be streaming the whole thing, so if we can save the footage, we'll see what we can do. This is the sort of thing we want more of. Even if people don't think their skills will be particularly useful, it's worth posting in case we can think of something. In other news, the Just Giving page is now up: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/maddogmarathon

Sega seem to be doing an excellent job of marketing/PR recently. They're coming across as a company that genuinely loves it's fans, especially on Twitter. They've completely embraced the Sanic meme (albeit a bit late), have been quite vocal in their support of fan projects to the point of hiring some of them for Sonic Mania and have been interacting with various YouTubers. They even took the piss out of themselves when GameGrumps had less than kind words to say about Big the Cat in their Sonic Adventure and SatBK playthoughs.

Give it a gloss gun metal finish and that would be one pretty console. Although the bottom of the controller sections don't flow with the shape of the screen when connected. This bothers me.

As for the NX. I've never been a fan of grey consoles. Kind of looks a bit cheap to me. Now if there's a black one...

I quite like the look of it to be honest. I didn't think I would, but it just seems like MGS5 in a different environment.

Photos of the banners in situ: As Ashley said, we really could do with people's help on this. Even people who aren't sure what they can offer the event. We need people with skills that may not be immediately obvious. People who are good at talking to commentate on the events, people to run raffles, people to jump in on multiplayer games when there's no members of the public who want to join in, people to run the stream. We need everything. All efforts big and small are appreciated.

Goafer And I Started A Let's Play YouTube Channel....

Yeah, on the latest session I checked that it was the right mic religiously before pressing record every time. Can't believe such a simple/stupid mistake ruined the audio for so many episodes. I recovered it as best I could and managed to get rid of the background noise, but it left it sounding echoey due to the internal mic recording everything, whereas the Snowball only records stuff close to it (at least on the setting we use). Super happy with the audio now though, so going forward we should be able to at be able to sound pretty pro. -

We've finally sorted out audio issues and will have decent audio once we've worked through our episodes from the previous recording session. Embarrassingly, we'd been recording from the laptop's internal mic instead of the Snowball. Audacity must have switched back to the internal mic when I was sound editing without the Snowball plugged in. I'm actually quite impressed with what the internal mic managed to achieve TBH. -
Still my 5D MK2 and the 70-200mm f2.8 lens. I can't afford shiny new cameras nowadays, but this one still works for me.

Presumably they crashed before they could get the "fucker" out.

I can't help with the programming side of things, but as Ike said, RetroPie is the way to go for emulators. There's plenty of documentation on how to set it up on Google. My setup is as follows: Raspberry Pi 2 Case XBox wired controller USB keyboard (only used for setup) Power cable HDMI cable Memory card (micro SD I think) Mine is currently used as a SNES/Mega Drive emulator, with a full collection of games for each. I won't post any links, but full game collections for each console can be found easily online. I was also impressed by how well the Pi can emulate later consoles such as the N64 and the Dreamcast.

Banner frames arrived today: Ashley and I will be taking them up to Arcade Club this weekend and hopefully be putting them up to gain interest in the event. We could still do with help from all you guys, so if anyone wants to volunteer, it would be much appreciated. It doesn't even have to be for the full 24 hours, we could still do with people collecting money and helping out for short shifts. The Arcade itself will only be open for 6 hours on the Friday night and we'll only be playing for an hour during the Saturday open times. We may not even need people for the Saturday, it depends on how busy Andy thinks it will be during the final hour. I'm probably going to look into a hotel room at some point. Depending on how many people we have, I may book a bigger room to accommodate a few more people. A bill shared is a bill halved and all that.

I was driving home the other day and I can't quite remember what got me thinking about it, but I started thinking about death and just how fucking terrifying the thought of it is. I was raised Christian (mainly by my school), so part of me always hopes for an afterlife, but I also tend to look at things logically as I'm getting older, so I'm fairly sure there's no afterlife etc and that thought scares the ever-loving shit out of me. It's the thought of everything I've achieved, all the memories I've made, everything I am just ceasing to be and there's no coming back from it. Even if reincarnation is a thing, which kind of makes the most sense to me as your body rots in the ground and feeds the plants around it, so maybe your "soul" or whatever feeds the next person, it still scares me, as I clearly can't remember my last incarnation, so it's just as bad as dying IMO. Who I am now still disappears forever. On the flip side, sometimes I'll find myself excited by the thought of death. Not in a weird, take 18 packs of Anadin sort of way, but in a "I can't wait to find out what happens" sort of way. Maybe there is an afterlife and if there is, it'll certainly be exciting to find out what it is. So what are other people's thoughts on death? Do you see it as final, or is it just a change?

I got one from Indian Trophy Hunters too. Weird.

Banners are made. Just waiting for the frames to arrive for the pop up banners (the portrait oriented ones):

Maybe they can steal some of the online features while they're at it. This basically. People clearly overthink my motivations.
