  1. Extreme-G! ...apparently comes under the futuristic racer category.
  2. Got a watermelon (score of 2,700+) and did a few more rounds anyway. I suspect a few more will be had before the close of play on the 11th.
  3. Totally. Easy to understand, difficult to master. I'll count it as a win if I can make one suika before the trial period is up.
  4. The Suika Game is the current game trial. Trying it was a mistake—I'm going to be dreaming about it.
  5. Did 20 mins or so in 4-player last week. Even with no contact it wasn't pretty. It was a laugh but much longer would have been painful. Fun for all the family indeed.
  6. Big Ange amassing quite the backlog of replays. Ha, didn't see that. Must have been having visions of the barrage of criticism they were about to receive yet again. Howard Webb will have some more explaining to do. Should have been a boring, routine win with the only talking point his new hairdo.
  7. Tried out classic mode too and was wondering where the better players were because I cruised to a 2nd then 1st by ~7 seconds. Or maybe classic is too pedestrian for people in comparison to 99? Not complaining as I was glad to see all those years on the SNES game bring me some joy in this version.
  8. Yeah those last two goals went in in the space of a minute. Sounds like the ref helped Spurs out again in their match this evening.
  9. Four great goals required just to squeak a home win v Fulham. Opposition managers for the next spell: "Lads, it's Kelleher. Fill your boots."
  10. So I'd put some charge into my N64 controller and there was a slot going begging?
  11. Played the first few stages of JFG. For whatever reason, my eyes were trying to read STARTWINS first as Starwins (like Starwing) then Start Wins before I got it. It's like one of those optical illusions that once you see it, you can't not see it: Star Twins. Duh. Game's good and looks great. High production values for the N64. Just need to let the old muscle memory kick in with the buttons and you're away—it's simply third person GoldenEye. An extra joystick for independent camera control would be nice but only because it's the norm nowadays. Treetop snipers and flying enemies are the most bothersome though with further acclimatisation to the controls their threat will easily be nullified. You gotta love the sound of shots zipping past! And widescreen to boot. Rare were majestic.
  12. Absolutely no rush. Their other 2024 offerings will serve as appetisers while Decapolice stays on simmer.
  13. Thanks for the heads-up. Went ahead and got it. This one had pretty (weird and) relaxed music however at times I found it difficult to discern between the background art and the Tetris action.
  14. Won't make it tonight but should be a lock for next week and the following few after that again.
  15. Game Awards is so easy to take a pass on—life's too short to be giving views to all these Geoff Keighley vanity projects. I'm infinitely more interested in what will come from Level-5 Vision 2023 II.
  16. Is this a banking thread now or wot. Excitement Direct was where to place your orders over the phone in quainter pre-online days.
  17. Can't wait for Kameo et al on the Xbox NSO app. Same. So long since I played it I can't mind what exactly the control scheme was but it must have followed whatever was standard at the time because it wasn't out of place. Remember multi-targeting the bugs and having many a decapitation party with the shurikens. Good times. And a disco on... Ichor? Remember thinking the ship landing scenes were reused for Starfox Adventures (and likely Dinosaur Planet along the way). Tribal Hunt aside, I was slightly disappointed the game wasn't bigger. For some reason I expected it to be more sprawling... perhaps got sucked in by the NMS hype machine on that.
  18. I've read the calendar isn't so great. How you finding it? When the number expiring gets too unwieldy again, I'll probably order the rest of the posters to join the Gameboy set I already haven't displayed... the t-shirt I haven't worn... the keyrings lying there in their plastic...
  19. December for US and presumably rest of the world. Great game but never finished it properly due to the Tribal Hunt padding.
  20. I'm sure the greyed out "Play Game Trials Software" Mission will go live again tomorrow. I've 3,500+ platinum coins, 125 of which are expiring this month so I'll just get some more Animal Crossing icons if nothing decent cycles in. Taking a pass on the Mario RPG and Warioware ones incase they see it as a sign of interest.
  21. Will download now. Nice timing since it's on sale on the eShop at the mo. Don't think I'll be rushing to get it, but I'll be trying it to see!
  22. Haha, enjoy would be an understatement; it's great! Groovy of you to have nudged me into taking advantage of the sale price. I've got plenty of laughs out of it—like desperately opening an unidentified present, getting rocket skates and going careering down a couple of levels before I could get away from the edge. Classic. It's cool there are some unlockables so it doesn't have to be a one-and-done sort of game.
  23. The eShop is wild for this—even for games you are sure about. I've recently been playing a pair of games I nabbed twelve months ago*, and slowly sifting through the current sale, I've spotted a good half dozen I wouldn't mind getting. Need to decide if it's buy to play or buy for a rainy day. Which with the Castlevania Anniversary Collection might be something you want to factor in because you never know, it could be 99p in January! Contra Anniversary Collection is down to the same price too... *not even my oldest unplayed eShop purchases.
