  1. I really hope they have an option for Japanese voice acting. Hardly any games do this; the only ones I can think of are Sonic Adventure DX and Soul Calibur II.
  2. Have you seen HiME, and if so, which do you prefer? If not, watch it now!
  3. I completely agree with you, but otome is still a pretty good anime (thats how good Hime is...). Although the ep 19 was crap, I reckon the show's story is getting a bit more interesting, and mai's appearance should improve it as well, as long as she isn't just at the very end. Plus, it's great getting to see all the old characters of HiME reincarnated.
  4. I haven't read that one yet, but my guess is that the name is a tribute to Franz Kafka, as "Hard boiled wonderland and the end of the world" is very Kafka-esque.
  5. Do you mean the supernatralist? (also by Eoin Colfer.) It's not a patch on Artemis Fowl, but it's also fairly enjoyable.
  6. Actually, The magicians nephew was a prequel; released directly after the lion the witch and the wardrobe, and intended to be read after it (so it should be the next one they do... plus it's the best one). Anyway, they're probably missing out the horse and his boy because its not really identifiable with the narnia "universe", and I expect many potential viewers would find it more boring than Prince Caspian (which is also more well known). EDIT: Actually, one of the main reasons is probably the fact that it's the only other book that uses Edmund, Susan, Peter and Lucy, so they won't have to get as many new actors or have previous contracts to worry about.
  7. Tomorrows release of episode 9 of mai-otome has got me looking at the official site, using Babelfish... It translates Shizuru as "shizzle", and Arika as "the ant mosquito"...
  8. Read Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell. In the orison of sonmi-451, spelling has been altered (including that exact example), presumably by the Government, which is a slightly sinister one. Later on, all the changes crumble to nothing and the language quite literally breaks down.
  9. The annoying thing is, they don't use it to save time; many of the words are the normal length but disgustingly warped. eg. "woz" ughhhhhhhh [/stewie].
  10. I think someone got banned from something awful for saying "JPGSPLSKTHX!". I find all chav text speak annoying eg. 2getha, dat, dis etc.
  11. Oh come on... But anyway, It was well pulled off, and I enjoyed it a lot until the very end.
  12. 1. Favourite meal overall? Probably a sunday roast 2. Usual breakfast? Cheese sandwiches... :-p 3. Favourite takeaway? Pizza (or if that doesn't conut, chinese) 4. Brown bread or white? Brown 5. Favourite fruit? Apple (especially the juice) 6. Favourite Cereal? Cocoa(sp?) pops crunchers. 7. Favourite Snack? Dairy milk bubbly 8. Rare, medium or Well done? Well done 9. White, milk, plain or dark? Milk 10. Favourite pizza? Pepperoni and extra cheese.
  13. I like pretty much all of the books mentioned here; of "His dark materials" I found Northern lights to be the best; the Amber Spyglass was let down by its length and somewhat artificial poignancy. 1984 was good although depressing; Lord of the flies was in the same boat. I find the books differ in perspective although have a similar point; the failures in organised society. Whereas Orwell investigates the failings of long establised, evolved society, Golding analyses the inherrent difficulties present in the origin of a society made up of egocentrics. I've read all of discworld (great), same for artemis fowl and the bartimaeus trilogy, although I found the conclusion of the latter to be a little cliched. Another good author is Garth Nix, especially his Abhorsen trilogy. One of my current favourite authors is David Mitchell; his books are all contemporary classics, especially Ghostwritten (this book contains a plethora of hidden links, many of which only become apparent on the second reading, showing the reader the true meaning of the book). I also like Haruki Murakami, although I've only read Norwegian Wood and The Wind up bird Chronicle. I'll shut up now.
  14. That's a very good set of scores; all the defining games of their genre tend to get around 34 in famitsu. However, I hope they aren't simply inflating the scores due to it being an RPG. Mind you, Nihon no RPGs ga dai suki desu! ^_^
  15. That's probably a good idea; I found a GCSE paper the other day, and couldn't believe how easy it was. Mind you, if the only reason you dislike it is because it's boring, it does get a lot more interesting at AS (and A2).
  16. Well it is for those who should be doing AS... :-p
  17. Yeah my teacher said that he thought about 2% of the people who took the exam got it right... it makes sense, it's just a bit confusing.
  18. Actually, if we ask our maths teacher if what we're doing is any use, he says "God no... What do you take me for?". Anyway, what has this question got to do with surds? And in answer to retro-lover, this maths is A2 level.
  19. In theory, the innocent have nothing to worry about... But seeing as nobody is innocent, I'm against the idea.
  20. That reminds me of a quote from a source I can't remember: "Having a no-smoking section in restaurants is like having a no-pissing area in a swimming pool."
  21. Actually I now have: 3x^2*e^(-x^6) Which I think is right so many thanks... but being in bed, you won't reply. :-p
