  1. ひどいよ。 ひどいよ、圭一くん! Yes, I'm bored enough to quote tsumihoroboshi-hen.
  2. Oh... But then, I find the problem with film critics is that they watch films all the time, so it takes something really amazing to impress them. I'll probably watch it anyway, as my friend said it was good.
  3. Has anyone here seen the History Boys? It's supposed to be good, apparently, so I'll probably see it tomorrow.
  4. After seeing #2, I hear the sound of The Bard crashing into the thread.
  5. Because "wwws" looked strange. Don't worry, I'm not trying to use the Greengrocer's apostrophe, I just thought it would mean less confusion for all.
  6. Greetings, person. Why is it necessary to put spaces in your www's?
  7. 7/10... nice, matches with your avatar, and I like the Zelda theme.
  8. I suppose if you don't have a typical day, then this thread doesn't really suit you, but you could post alternatives if you want.
  9. I've had this idea for a thread... I'm not sure quite how well it will work (ie. whether people will give a damn), or indeed, if it has been done before, so bear with me... Basically, the title is fairly self-explanatory- post a description of what you do on a typical day in you life. If you normally go to school/work/whatever, post an account of one of those days, as it's typical that I'm looking for. If you can be bothered, I suppose you can do a weekend day or whatever as well. Anyway, for me: My alarm clock wakes me up at 7, but I lie in bed until around 7:10. When I do finally manage to rouse myself, I clean my teeth, put on my suit, and go downstairs and eat cereal (normally something coco-poppy). By the time it gets to about half seven, I leave and walk down the road to the bus stop where my bus usually comes and I just about catch it. I listen to music on the bus, and when I get to school, I talk to people in the sixth form centre for a while... then I have lessons. This consists of biology, chemistry or further maths... and pretty much no frees (boo). At lunch (1:05) I go into town (St. Albans) with some friends and buy lunch, normally something at J.K. Palmers (the sandwich shop de resistance- everyone should have a chicken escalope and mozzarella baguette once). After lunch, 'tis time for a few more lessons... then school ends at 4. However, I have to hang around for ages waiting for the bus and going home, so I don't get home until after 5... Once home, I look at a few websites and stuff and if I have time translate some of the Higurashi game. Then I do homework... which usually (plus an arbitrary supper) takes me through until about 10, when I have a shower and go to bed... But don't actually end up going to bed until after 11... So anyway, like I said, I don't know if this is going to work or not, but give it a go... 書いてください。
  10. I'd imagine most of the menus would be in katakana-ised English, meaning that they wouldn't be that hard to translate. eg. スタート = sutaato = start.
  11. Biochemistry with Japanese would be damn cool. I did see a genetics and Japanese course at Manchester, but the genetics bit looked a bit crappy.
  12. Hey, another hertfordshire boy! I have yet to see one of these Mario Kart arcade thingies. Are they worth seeking out?
  13. I've already applied... Natural Sciences at Cambridge, Biochemistry everywhere else.
  14. I like your sig, having seen it many a time... 8.5/10. The one thing I don't like is the fact that the text is underneath Bowser and Mario, when I'd put it above.
  15. So, has anyone here played ever17? Apparently it's the best visual novel to be officially translated into English (as only about 5 have actually been translated). I downloaded the demo here, and it looks pretty good. Only problem is that it's bloody hard to get hold of ouside the US... (sorry folks, I bought the last copy on ebay )
  16. Birthday salutations to all who have birthdays...
  17. I think most of us here have seen some Miyazaki, and like it... But you know, it's not strictly anime... at least according to Miyazaki himself.
  18. St. Albans is quite good for manga... there's the big Ottakars, which has plenty of Tokyopop, and there's also Chaos City Comics, which is really good- It's got all sorts of stuff. If you don't know where Choas City Comics is, go straight down St. Peter's street until it diverges into two (pedestrian only) roads, then take the right one and go straight down and across the road. Head right up the road until you see a covered opening on the left, and it's just through there.
  19. I'd say it was the best anime I'd seen... after all, it convinced me to buy the game in Japanese...
  20. My favourite anime are Higurashi, Honey and Clover, Azumanga Daioh and Mai HiME. I haven't read much manga, but I like Azumanga Daioh and Video Girl Ai (nobody has ever heard of it).
  21. You mean the first thing you learnt in Japanese wasn't kusokurae? Yes, I'm aware you may not have learnt Japanese...
