  1. While we slap EA on the back for delivering quality new IP across multiple platforms, seems the analyst would rather kick them up the arse for not pumping out solely cheap, minor revisions to their sports catalogue.
  2. Excellent work. I wasn't too taken by Gladiator, but this is right up my street. High Voltage... You're fucking great.
  3. Neither have i- not that i can blame Play, i've not used them since GTA and my card since expired. At least i have Little Kings Story.
  4. How beautifully twee. Arrived today, and i'm totally loving it. So far, i've done managed to open us the cut scene introducing the first other civilisation. My only - slight - critisisms are theres no IR and i personally feel the game would certainly benefit from a crazy voice over- but thats preference (and bizarrely, the first people i can think of providing VO are the two who do Big Cook, Little Cook).
  5. I thought you bought it to talk dirty to me.
  6. No, i wouldn't. Not as a main TV. While i'm not sure of the upscaling features (specifically for Wii), i've done a fair bit of research and don't think the LCD tech is there- to coin a phrase i read, you just get more bang for your buck with Plasma. *EDIT* I read your post as LCD. I'm so used to having debates with a mate who thinks LCD is better tech, i read most things as LCD. So to answer your question... No, i've never considered, but will look into it, actually. And they do a 64" model (at £3, 500, mind you). Fuck, yeah... I'll end up with no living room, and no chance of sitting in their either (i'll be in the dog house).
  7. I'm happy enough... at least i'll not have to put up with swappable covers- a choice of rubbish and downright appalling.
  8. I knew it.
  9. I can't buy that. I'd spend all day stroking it, rather than watching it.
  10. Why? Are you sending it back?
  11. Fuck it. Ordered.
  12. I think you are a tight bastard. Its a fiver. Two pints of cheap lager. The only reason i've not bought this yet is that i've a housefull of DS and Wii games to play. I'd happily buy this for £30 if it weren't for the fact it'd gather dust for a while- so £23 is more than a bargain for anyone.
  13. i've got far too many games to play through to even think about buying this, plus i want Pikmin 2 and Little Kings Story. But its so damned tempting. To quote myself: Well, its a bank holiday. It'll probably rain, so i'll need something to do.
  14. Having emailed Nintendo of Europe about an issue in my Stars account, i had a few back and forth emails from Laila Marshall. In one email, i asked her about a Euro release for Fatal Frame 4- making it clear that there could be a name change for Europe, incidently. Her response was not good- "i do not believe this title will be released". For those who did not listen to the recent IGN podcast, Matt C suggested that he'd heard rumblings that Nintendo wanted a few things changed, and Tecmo refused. Either way, i think its time to forget about this title. So, i'll bump the thread.
  15. 8 was at the lower end of what i've been expecting- optimistically though, i thought it could shoot for a 9. 8's not a bad score, lets settle that now. 8's a good game, with some flaws.
  16. Friendcodes just don't work. How many people here have exchanged codes with a virtual stranger? There's nothing, absolutely nothing, stopping Gary Glitter from successfully grooming. Iwata is stupid for thinking otherwise. The only thing they do is remove the convenience of adding people (and that fucks us gamers off); it provides no added security, just makes it slightly less convenient for a pervert (i'm sure they can live with adding several codes to their systems, but of course, us gamers can't). The fact is that there are better, more secure ways of managing the online component of Wii. For instance, my prefered option, is to charge a small, monthly fee to - debit or credit - cards; the security checks these ensure Nintendo will have a decent paper trail to help authorities should anything untoward be reported. By asking for a small payment- even as little as £1, €1, $1, Â¥1,000,000, Nintendo can also enforce clearer terms and conditions to online use- 'by making this subscription you're responsible for the online activities of all who use your Wii- Nintendo take no responsibility of yours or other users Online activity and strongly suggest children play online only with the Supervision of parents and take no responsibility if your kid ends up buggered or cemented into the walls of a loopy builder'. If the payment details fail, online features with communication are prohibited. Simple.
  17. Dazzybee. You're one sick man.
  18. I think you forgot the correct placing of the 4 and the 2 as well. Just made the assumption.
  19. I just thought it was Bozon reverting to his more natural ways.
  20. Kid Icarus. He's been pimping it for ages, and no one believes him... Its good for Matt because he can finally say "told you so". Thats my speculation, anyway.
  21. Is an upscaler usually mentioned as a 'feature'- how does one tell how good they are?
  22. And you don't have a girlfriend, Dazzy?
  23. Verging on technical support, but i'll try my luck with a brand new thread. Do you play your Wii on a large screen TV? How does it fare when blown up on 32+inch. We use a SD screen at 34inches, through SCART and there are small signs of some image break up- particularly in the Mii Channel, but overall it holds up pretty well. Any larger, and i'd worry that it'd be more noticable. Reason why i'm asking... I'm tempted by a massive 50inch plasma... A Wii killer, perhaps? Or would the component cable solve this issue?
  24. Matt thinks Miyamoto- employed by Nintendo as a games producer- is working on a game? No shit, Sherlock.
