  1. Oh. I suppose it is larger than Mario Karts... But 32?! Bloody friendcodes.
  2. Hmm. Nothing special, really... Poor show Capcom. Yeah, yada, yada, its a new artstyle, but not sure its improved with the change. Hopefully, the gameplay is good.
  3. Has it been announced how large the friend roster is? Hopefully, its larger than Mario Karts.
  4. Excellent. Now were just waiting for a couple of reviews to make sure it all fits together.
  5. Yes they do- thats a ridiculous thing to say. If you buy anything you'll friggin notice if its faulty. Minor bugs are maybe never noticed, but major ones are of course noticed- and many people would've previously taken them back to the shop for refund. Simple and justifiable. Nowadays, they'd be told to connect to the internet and download a patch, i don't think thats acceptable- its a workaround for a problem that could've been avoided in the first place. Really? A very short sighted thing to say. While i don't buy shovelware, its profitable for developers- its their bread and butter, many would simply cease to exist without it (High Voltage Software would be a good example, and without them, we may never have this very thread to discuss patches). Thats a gray area as far as i'm concerned- if a developer is working on new assets to a game, at the same time as the game itself, is it reasonable to expect this to be on the final build? But then, by announcing DLC prior to retail, you're advising the customer there are more charges to come. I've personally tried to distance added value DLC from the idea of patches to repair faults. My personal opinion with added value DLC is if its on the disk, you should have access to it without a transaction (but then i'd be pretty miffed if a developer held bits back for DLC). You've already paid for it. If its an extra file containing new code, than yes, a charge can be made.
  6. I think we're trying to seperate DLC and patches (although, granted they're the same). DLC is added value, whether it be a new outfit or new maps, its adding something to the experience. What i'm refering to as Patches- those that repair a fault in the game- don't add anything at all- they fix the experience- whether it be controls, textures, whatever- thats something that should be 100% completed by manufacture date. I see no justification for the latter- perhaps, i can give you the online bit, perhaps there's no way of fully testing online components until its being played- but come on, controls? No way. Simply not acceptable. I can't see any reason why you'd be able to justify any other patches.
  7. Respectfully, i'm on the other side of the fence. I suppose its simply my background, but I think product should be shipped ready and finalised. Fair enough, maybe its unreasonable to expect this 100%, but it seems to become a worrying trend that developers are relying on us to tell them their game is broken- i recall in some instances patches to rectify control issues- Liar and LBP i think. Thats absolutely unacceptable. In my humble opinion.
  8. I'd rather a game ship to me fully tested, rather than paying £30 for the dubious privilege of being a beta tester and have to recieve patches to actually make a game work properly. DLC is one thing, but patched games is another.
  9. Who has my Walker? Does anyone fancy a meet up this evening?
  10. Its been a good few weeks since we got a shafting from Capcom. They're making up for lost time.
  11. Good. I see no reason why dialogue should be dropped from the Wii version. Sound files are probably smaller on Wii, yet it uses the same media as the 360.
  12. They've outsole Gamecube and presumably Xbox LTD figures, they've achieved two thirds of the 360 market. I don't think their doing too badly. That said, their heads are in the clouds.
  13. good to see an update. With Capcom's success on the HD machines, was begining to worry this'd be put on the back burner.
  14. Oh. Thats disappointing.
  15. If they did, i'd forgive them for the lack of blood in No More Heroes.
  16. Played this briefly yesterday. What a brilliant dynamic it has. Traditionally, i'd play games like Ikaruga and R-type towards the back edge me the screen- BlastWorks is forcing me out of that comfort zone to collect ship parts. The campaign game isn't the most exciting, and i've yet to download any really impressive User Generated Content (get cracking Redshell!)- although there was a superb rendition of SMB1-1, but ultimately not a great example of what can be done here. I'm pretty keen to see where developers take the idea me User Generated Content. Perhaps Animal Crossing should embrace it next time?
  17. Quite a few, Play, Gameplay, Amazon, GAME (they're my regulars), and i'm sure they honour their preorder prices. Don't they have to, under contracts of sale legislation (surely someone knows a bit more than us).
  18. Shopto currently have problems with their banking system. Their card payment system fails to communicate with quite a large number of banks including Co-op (my bank), Yorkshire, Barclays, Clydsdale to name a few. They've also said, upon enquiry that they'll not honour that price should it change in the future. Not sure if they're allowed to do that though..?
  19. WiiSports Resort? I doubt it, since all the games probably use M+.
  20. Gameplay and Play are both £39.99.
  21. what are the pay and play options here?
  22. Its not so much the gameplay for me, its those load screens, too frequent and too intrusive. Reminds me of Batman Forever on Super NES...
  23. Agreed. Those loads are appalling- deal breaker for me, actually. Its disappointing the environments aren't seemless either - in many places it seems as though he's walked into a completely different world. Whens this out? Summer, right? Leaving little chance of fixing these issues?
  24. i have an urge to play through this again, the set pieces were brilliant. A truly under rated game.
