From the outset, two things put me off this preview, they're instantly bias, simply not bothered. -They've not put the publisher in their 'info banner'- just how long have Sega been the official publisher? That chap can't have been paying much attention, since recent showings will have had Sega reps crawling all over. -SciFi pap? I love SciFi conspiracy, and can't think of too many games of recent years that have followed the theme. -They're talking about two levels that the rest of the gaming press previewed months ago. I'm still behind this game.

There's nothing wrong with Rail Shooters- its the fact that they're tooted as playing to Wii's strengths when their quite obviously playing to the publishers purse strings.
-
You sound surprised.

Don't. You can't connect other AV equipment to it. You'll have surround for the 'included' DVD player, whatever USB devices. You'll not be able to use it for TV (satellite or DTT), games consoles, bluray etc. Ensure your purchase has Optical Inputs.

I liked it. :/

True, true. Slip of the tongue- or fingers. I bow my head in shame. How about this radical idea, Iwata. Produce some great games, and excite the market that way?

I think they're actually the sole European publisher, although I doubt Nintendo have any say in what Capcom wish to release in this territory, they seem to act more like a distributor though. I wonder why this set up was originally agreed. Very strange.

Metroid on WiiWare? Forget it. Thats honestly the second worst idea ever. Reason: there's not enough file space to create something worthy of the Metroid name. LostWinds- a game rather similar to Metroid in construct and one which i'd suggest has the level of art design we'd expect- is one of the larger WiiWare titles but remains extremely short. Unless you mean a Metroid Pinball game- which would simply be the worst single idea ever. Nintendo has produced some great WiiWare stuff- look at the ArtStyle series. For a few quid, you can't do better.

Don't know if its been mentioned, but Shopto have this listed as being released on the 24th April. Thats shopto and Gameplay... But, is it possible that we'll see a european release so soon after the multiplayer blow out?

80k copies i think. RE4 sold about 140k copies in Japan and went on to 1.4 million in the west. Fatal Frame could get within spitting distance of 1million in the west, i'm sure.

The inclusion of a Power Up in PunchOut was the only piece of news given? No explanation as to why Nintendo shafts its Western fans, no comment no Fatal Frame? Flimsy Reggie.
-
I have one HUGE problem with this game- i'm not playing it now. Was there ever an indication of release? It can't be that far away if its been submitted to the BBFC, can it?

Careful what you wish for, young padawan. -
Congrats on sub-standard tech, Nintendo. I'm not sure if i'm annoying myself with my hatred of Nintendo over the past 3 days.

Wii Play? No, we don't. Oops scratch that, yes we do!
david.dakota replied to david.dakota's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Personally, i prefered it when no one played any games on Wii. I could almost understand Nintendo's stance on not releasing Fatal Frame. Since we've all started playing again, i'm pissed at Reggie all over again. -

Lets cross our fingers on this one. -
So, everyone but Nintendo see value in horror games on Wii. Iwata and Miyamoto are clowns.

I think Mr T Should become our honorary mascot. Perhaps we could have him in a bunny suit for Easter in the banner? -
Microsoft took Halo 3- a genre title that MS know the Japanese don't appreciate too much- marketed the shit out of it and achieved sales comparable to Fatal Frame 4. Nintendo drop Fatal Frame into the japanese release schedule with a few weeks notice, don't tell anyone and expect it to sell with no marketing. Then they complain no one bought it, so its not worth bringing out overseas. And i thought the days of Nintendo shitting on us with lame excuses were gone.

I don't trust Spong. I'm still holding out hope for FF...
