  1. The annoying thing is that it wasn't even a technical limitation of the wii but due to server infrastructure used in Europe is what I heard. Retarded is my opinion.
  2. @Grazza what I find really interesting is that the software that has reinvigorated my interest is third party, namely MH3. And that their is clear intent from the likes of Activision (despite my disdain for CoD) to support the machine with titles that exploit the features the tablet brings to the consumer. And about that tablet. The said features seem to be...more supplementary rather than attempting to be revolutionary, meaning that they should add to the experience in what appears to be a meaningful and useful fashion (quick clear inventory management, status and map monitor etc.) rather than shake-up the steady gaming foundations we currently have. I mean, that's already happened and look at the result. I think Dev's will find it alot easier to make use of the Wii U's capabilities, and the architecture is such that they can probably build games for the machine without the drastic costs that buried companies when the ps3 and 360 came out. Really looking forward to the future.
  3. Are the rooms that you enter and wait in before quests going to be like the japanese versions of Tri where they could hold 16 people IIRC rather than the paltry 4 that was possible in the western release of the game?
  4. That was brilliant...Conan, not the game. Makes me wanna try out the demo myself though but something that really bothers me is the animation of the thumbs up. It looks like Leon's arm is wooden and attached on artificially...it looks lame. Am I the only one that sees this? Camera/FOV looks alot better than before but graphics looked pretty unspectacular. Meh I will just wait till the demo before I make anymore uninformed conclusions.
  5. Is that another controller?! I can't just use the wii mote game pad combo like last time?
  6. I'm still not sure about my purchasing decision but it is very very likely. I really didn't want another console, but in typical Nintendo fashion, the experiences had on the machine cannot be had anywhere else and will be an important factor as to what games I buy.* Tangible use of the tablet like zombi u and it's a wii u purchase.* Multiplatform that isn't on pc like fighters, that have no use for the tablet and it's probably a ps3 buy.* Fps/graphics intensive/moddable game is a pc buy.*
  7. This is a sort of personal declaration on where I stand with Nintendo at this moment in time but it would be interesting to hear others views. I haven't turned on my wii in probably a year. If I wasn't such a hoarder, it would have been sold by now. There are many reasons for this but suffice it to say, I don't hold Nintendo in the same regard as I did in the cube and 64 days. So after having gotten up to date with the recent information with the wii u, my interest has increased by a factor of 100% (from 1%) mainly due to two things which are quite interesting. MH3 ultimate and Bayonetta 2. MH3 has probably been my most enjoyable console experience and a large part of that is down to the general charm of the game and the n-europe contingent that also played. I enjoyed it so much that provided the same ppl are getting it, I almost willing to buy a console for it. Bayonetta 2's significance is less to do with the game, even though I did enjoy the first, and more to do with showing nintendo's commitment to the gaming demographic I most likely fall into. If this is a sign of things to come, then I like this direction of nintys attitude to its customers. Basically I now want a wii u for MH3 and possibly some future releases that would be of interest. The plan is to get one around the release mh3. Anyone else feel a reinvigorated interest in Nintendo now because of these recent developments?
  8. Just to put it out there, Bayonetta 1 had next to no advertising so it is no wonder that it didn't sell that well. Sega are absolutely terrible when it comes to marketing sometimes.
  9. Never been to NeoGaf but it sounds like a good place to go if you want a good bellyaching laugh with comments like these.
  10. Jesus Christ Capcom. So conflicted as I don't own the 3ds, don't plan on buying one either, don't really want another console so had no plans to get the wii U, and yet the game I want the most out of all of them, is coming to these platforms. FML.
  11. Ps3 version is fine. Just at launch it had a few issues the xbox version didn't but patches should have addressed most if not all of the problems. Can't believe Sega canned the IP.
  12. Red Faction franchise on sale on steam for £7.49. Well worth imo just for the excellent multiplayer in Guerilla.
  13. Really, the best trophies are the ones that you can get while just naturally playing the game. Toss in a few that make players try something outlandish and fun, and you are onto a winner imo. When developers make achievements just to arbitrarily stretch the length of the game, they must know that their game is lacking in some department that it just can't keep the players interest. As I mentioned before, for me, Burnout's were perfect as I didn't have to go out of my way to achieve any of the trophies and I kept playing the game long after I got 100%. Another thing is that there were challenges in the game that went beyond the trophy requirements, and could have easily been a trophy themselves such as obtaining the Burnout Elite licence IIRC which required you to do everything there was to do in the game. A tall order for sure and one not many I believe could be bothered to attempt.
  14. Wouldn't be surprised as the dragons dogma code for the ps3 version of the demo is finally valid sometime this month. EDIT: After a quick check, it seems the code is valid tomorrow.
  15. Should do now
  16. Aha, thanks for that education but I could have sworn that they were old before their time because of a side effect of Big Boss' genes as I remember hearing that and thinking it was a load of substantial bull that was just too hard to shove along with the rest that had to be ignored. Also I clearly wasn't paying attention in MGS2 I also hated the bit about the recessive and dominant genes as liquid was lead to believe that he had the recessive ones while solid had the dominant ones, and that recessive genes are supposed to be inferior, which when you take things such as hair colour into account, becomes quite meaningless. I get the whole survival of the fittest aspect but what a convoluted and ultimately incorrect way to express.
  17. Wait WHAT?! I have only played the PS2 Kingdom Hearts games so this makes no sense to me. And Big Boss is the original Snake. There is also Liquid, Solid and Solidus snake who are all clones of Big Boss. IIRC they are supposed to be a mix of recessive and dominant genes, which defines their differences. Big Boss was snake is MGS3 and that PSP MGS game whose name I forgot (not the portable ops series). 'Solid' Snake is Old Snake is MGS4 and aged prematurely due to the clones being created from the DNA of Big Boss when he was old (what?). EDIT: You know what, this story makes very little sense, and funnily enough, this is some of the easier to keep track of, and more sane stuff in the plot. Still love it though.
  18. I can't do achievements. I lose interest in most games so quickly these days, achievements just don't play a factor anymore. Only have 100%/platinum on two games and that's Burnout because I have a compulsion to collect things in games that have them, and hunting them down was so damn fun, and in Virtua Fighter 5 because it was so easy, but at the same time good learning for the game's mechanics. Basically I will try to get as many as I can for as long as the game is fun.
  19. I'll probably host one I think:
  20. Tri should be at the top of your list for the fun times we had in that game. So badly do I want moar of that. Also can we vote in here even if we haven't played 10 games for the wii? Shameful I know but alas, in my case it is true.
  21. I actually really enjoyed Killzone 1. Even the multiplayer as well. Was a bit sad they didn't have multiple singleplayer campaigns like the first.
  22. It does work with a controller. Just you may miss a tiny bit of functionality.
  23. Nope, blighttown is silky smooth on pc.
  24. PC mate so Blighttown doesn't crush fps as it does on consoles.
