Hello (insert their name here), thanks for the match. I must say, it was an easy swipe right for me... you're absolutely stunning! How're you finding tinder? (insert your name here) x Is my generic message, it has worked well for me. If they put a profile in there then of course you can add to it but if not, it's a nice enough base message to go on... it gives a compliment and asks a question therefore inviting a reply.

Yeah but Blade, you look a bit meh but your mrs still enjoys your company! :p Love you really!

When myself, @Hero\-of\-Time, @Deathjam, @marky and others on MHTri, voice-chat made it all the better. Then again with others (@Blade) on MH3U on the WiiU. The fun was only enhanced by talking to them, laughing with them and taking the mick out of each other too. For Nintendo to say they're all about "fun" why is it they leave out features that enhance it?! This game desperately needs voice-chat. It would be all the better for it!

Funnily enough this is my thought too. I bought it, started it, got intô my first couple fights and immediately thought "I cannot be arsed with this at all"... not put it on since.

I don't think he'll take a big bite from any one player whilst at Barca... maybe smaller bites from many players... tapas.

Zankyou No Terror I watched the first episode and I am wholly intrigued! -
I hate this game... I hate that I enjoy it... I hate that it mercilessly screws you over more than any other game ever before, yet there's the odd occasion when you have a few races where the game goes easy on you and nothing seems to hit you too and so it drags you back in... to a world of hurt when you get screwed over again! I didn't think I would but I like racing as my Mii over the standard characters... having my Mii makes me want to play it more for some odd reason.

That's my time on Mario Kart completely so far, haha. That Grumble Volcano, I was in first then got hit by a Blue Shell followed swiftly by a Red Shell and a Star user... I hadn't managed to move from the spot where the Blue Shell first struck me. Rainbow Road was shocking too, I got a Bullet Bill and thought awesome, I never get something good, only for it to end and put me immediately in the path of another Bullet Bill which smashed into me knocking me to the edge of the track only for a fucking Red Shell to then knock me off. I get placed back down and a fucking Green Shell fired backwards hits me before I get a chance to move. The worst though was on Tick Tock Clock just then with @Blade and Clownferret. I was in the air gliding, at height, when a Green Shell got fired backwards from the ground and somehow flew up into the air and hit me! Fuck that! Fuck that shit, Black Ops 2 is going on, there's less bullshit in even that!

I wish there was an option for a caption that said "I wish there was voice-chat." Haha. Also, the night has started with me getting royally screwed I the first few races! Man!

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch

@Ronnie, awesome post! -
Given the only home consoles I've not owned have been the PS3 and the current iterations of the PS & XB (all due to financial restraints) I'd not say I'm blinded by loyalty, I even owned a Sega Saturn! Hell, I'm one of the people that criticise Nintendo heavily these days! I'm going to be picking up either the PS4 & XBO later this year, still undecided which. I prefer the XBO pad and love the idea of all the Halo games being on it, but then again Sony First Party generally have better offerings than Microsoft's. Overall though, my reason for picking up the WiiU is because I enjoy playing Nintendo games more than any other. Specifically their games though, I don't rate their hardware in respect of it not being as powerful and lacking in network options, which is why I would love Nintendo to go 2nd Party to one of the others.

That's funny, I've a 360 and a WiiU, have put hundreds of hours into both and I actually prefer the WiiU's analogue setup. Funny how you seem to keep ignoring that.
-
I thought you were complaining just because it was Nintendo..?! :p Still, if it wasn't awkward for the analogues to be where they are on the DS4 then I wouldn't complain about it, right?
-
I just don't see how button pressing is awkward on the Pro Controller. It's not awkward in the slightest, I just don't get this statement at all. Sure the buttons aren't in as natural a place to press as they are on the other pads but likewise, the analogue on those other pads isn't as natural in use as the Pro Controller's. With higher fidelity required for complete control of an analogue stick over the fidelity required for pressing a button (not much), it makes more sense to have the stick in the natural raised position. Also, using the D-Pad on the 360 controller is only awkward because the D-Pad itself is of poor design, not because of its placement. The D-Pad and buttons are easy to use on the Pro Controller because tapping a button/direction does not require any effort or fidelity at all. Unless you've tiny hands, like midget small, then I could see your argument, but then all controllers aren't for you.

@Sheikah you'll not find professional player using the Wiimote because the Wii was never on the professional circuit and they're used to using analogue sticks. The speed at which I can acquire targets using a Wiimote will not be bettered by an analogue stick. Then when it comes to multiple targets they've no chanc in keeping up with a Wiimote. Also, I'm not suggesting Nintendo were thinking of FPS games when designing their controller. I'm suggesting they have thought into what's the most natural position for your hands/thumb to be in when holding a controller and using the different input methods. The left analogue stick is it's most natural position, its effectively in the same position as the N64 pad, so they've mirrored it with the WiiU. That they didn't include analogue triggers is an oversight I agree but how many games actually ise the analogue input on triggers, funnily enough, not all that many outside of the racing genre... still, they should have included them, that I agree with. What I believe with the other consoles is this: Sony: Nintendo have done that right, we need analogue sticks, but we don't want to drastically change our pad, lets stick them here. Microsoft: We need analogue sticks, let's move the one that controls the character to the most natural position for it like when holding the middle prong on the N64 pad, because this will be the main input method. We'll keep the buttons where they are as they have always been there and people used the right analogue where it was I the Playstation before... except we'll also put the black and white buttons in a stupid place and make the pad huge. They've stayed as they are because that's how things have been and they've wanted to keep uniformity across consoles.
-
I've countless hours myself on a 360 pad and the WiiU. I disagree with you completely. I'm not saying it's difficult, it's not difficult at all, it's just that it's more natural and therefore you've a better degree of fidelity with the analogue positioned in the natural position. The Wiimote is by far the best controller when it comes to FPS but Microsoft haven't adopted a pointer based controller. When it comes to designing a controller I've more belief Nintendo studied where was the most natural position for things over the others. It's certainly not at all difficult pressing buttons, no matter where they are on the pad. Ever since CoD: MW on onwards, after playing heavily on them I have wanted both analogues in the raised position. It's the best position or them.
-
This is wrong, just completely wrong. Buttons do not require precision. You just press them. No intricate movements or anything required. The analogue stick requires intricate movements, quick changes in directions... especially for twitch gameplay. It's absolutely much more comfortable doing this from the natural position your thumb sits at... mirroring the left analogue. If this wasn't the case then all controllers would mirror the Dual Shock setup. It's only because there are a lot of games too that don't overly rely on the right analogue that it sits where it does on other controllers. Buttons are an age old mainstay on controllers, they're there as they've always been there. But for ease and comfort of control, the raised position of analogues is absolutely best, it's where your thumb naturally rests.
-
Which one is that?
-
Given that you never need precise movements for pressing buttons but you do for control over the analogue stick, then the most natural position is how it's set up on the Pro Controller. It's so much better playing FPS and 3rdPS with a WiiU controller because of this... really any game where you've extensive use of the analogue sticks. This is my biggest gripe with the Dual Shock controllers, their god awful analogue placement! Although the DS4's is better than previous iterations now they're spaced further apart and it's finally a comfortable controller to in your hand... they're still in a tripe position which then lessens that comfort.
-
Wow, tonight was in complete contrast to the other night. I only got royally screwed in a couple races. Otherwise it was a decent night with @Zechs Merquise, @Clownferret and @Phube... I do wish there was voice-chat though, it would've been so much better!
-
I think it's the weight more than anything. It doesn't actually feel flimsy. It's buttons and lack of analogue triggers aren't as good as the DS4's but I find the analogue placement far better on the Pro Controller, because of this I find it more comfortable than the DS4 although with the weight of the DS4 it feels more like a controller... if that makes sense?
-
It is a fingerprint magnet that's for sure! From what I hear the general complaint about the buttons is for extended use where you're holding the buttons down, like on MK8, so I'm glad I've not used it for that. For just pressing them I've found it fine, I'm just no keen on the spacing between them, I'd like them more like the Gamepad's, a little closer together and closer to the analogue stick ever so slightly.
-
I get what you mean in some respects. It's not as comfortable in the hand as the GC controller, but then again I'd say no other controller is either. Yet to say there's very little ergonomic design I'd say isn't quite right, it's a comfy controller still. I don't get the "the plastic feels cheap", it doesn't feel like it'll break or that it's flimsy or anything. It feels normal I'd say. I don't have any issues personally with the buttons but I've not played MK8 with the pad yet so I've not had to hold a button down for extended periods so I'll not judge this one. The triggers should be analogue but they're not. But as far as buttons go they feel very good to press, nothing wrong in that respect. The analogue stick position however, for me, is perfect. The natural pale for them to be for the hand... the reason I say for me is because I generally play games where I'm using the analogue stick much more heavily than the buttons so this is why. To me it's as good as the GC pad, if not as comfy. The buttons are ok for me, it's unfortunate that the triggers aren't analogue triggers but they're not as bad as the awful Z button on the GC pad. The analogue sticks on the Pro Controller are better and in a better position. Also, the D-Pad on the Pro Controller is infinitely better than the GC's. Both have pros and cons so I'd say they're as good, not one better than the other.

The Pro Controller feels great, I don't get the whole "low build quality" statement.
