It has some gems on it, there's definitely fun to be had with the console. Unfortunately for me Nintendo haven't provided me with as much fun as their other consoles. It would've been great if they'd drawn from their rich catalogue of games to give us a little more diversity on the console though... namely Metroid and Waverace for me, I love them... but there are plenty more too of course. I think what makes me feel so down about the WiiU is that I still feel the Wii was a lot better. It had better games, a bigger diversity in software, a bigger and better online community and better online features in Nintendo's own games and a bigger number of games from Nintendo's library. There were many more magic moments with the Wii than there have been with the WiiU! In some ways I still feel I'm waiting for the successor to the Wii, the WiiU doesn't feel to be that and so I feel let down and a little ripped off by it.
-
So I see the WiiU has finally sold 10 million units. I don't see it doing much more really... Nintendo dropped the ball completely with this console. I really hope they step up their game with the next one or it's going to do even worse.

The bucket looks to be a fairly interesting weapon... is it a 1 or maybe 2 hit kill, I couldn't tell there? Could be a handy weapon for splatting people on the tower on Tower Control...
-
I'm playing this intermittently at the moment as I've no real drive to put it on. The August update will change that and I'll game more often but not religiously I'd imagine... and I'd not commit to a fixed night, but I'd always see when I'm free and post when I'm heading on. I'd be looking to Skype with the party matchmaking for sure!
-
Ignore the rest of my post as usual of course, the actual crux of the matter. It's why you appear to troll. Granted, I should learn and shouldn't bite.

There is no "hiding behind" an opinion @Ronnie... it's a bloody opinion, you don't hide behind them, you state them! The problem with you is you don't post subjectively. Look on the Splatoon thread, both Serebii and Dud disagreed with me but they weren't in the slightest bit antagonistic whereas you were! Approach things differently and arguments won't go back and forth!
-
Here's where you're wrong. Whether I find something botched or you think it's great is all opinion. Neither of us our wrong in these cases, but what you've said there is incorrect. You don't have to sit back and just enjoy it. It's up to the person whatever they do. They don't have to do anything. They could not play it, trade it in, sell it, snap it in half, complain... it's entirely up to them. They could also enjoy it, play it, sing it's praises. ...but they don't HAVE TO sit back and enjoy it. Just because you don't like seeing people vent frustrations, it doesn't mean they can't.
-
I'm aware how good the game is Ronnie, but it could (and should, in this day and age) be better... and I'd not call it one of their most polished when you consider just how botched Battle Mode is! Your obsession with my gripes is a bit unnerving.
-
It is believable... because it's not great. Opinions. You know you could be like Serebii and not be antagonistic about it..? It's taking up about 90% of my gaming time at the moment itself (although I'm in a gaming lull at the moment). It is still fun, I've not disputed that, and won't do. I just find it annoying/frustrating with Nintendo's design decisions as much as I find it fun. One of my biggest gripes still is this: I join friends, play a couple matches and now want to change weapon/clothing. I have to back out, change, re-join and sit there waiting for a space to open up and then a game to finish, when I could easily do that in much less than 10 seconds in the lobby. For someone who likes to change weapons/clothing often, this is a HUGE frustration!
-
It's all opinion anyhow, it's as fair for me to call it botched as others to call it amazing.
-
Maybe they're making this game not as good as it should be on purpose so that the sequel betters it, when it finally becomes a complete game and not a botched effort..?
-
The quality was still there in MKWii... just not as high quality. But my point was to say that it wasn't unpolished. The fact that Nintendo have taken a step backwards online with MK8 could be argued that MK8 isn't as polished as it should be.
-
The visuals may not have had polish but it's online was arguably better than MK8's. At least in MKWii you could create a party with friends and then search for online races as a group. You can't do this in MK8.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Official Thread: A Brotherhood Reunited
Kav replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Good hunting the other night @Glen\-i and @Hero\-of\-Time, sorry I wasn't on for too long mind. Hopefully I'll get on again soon with you guys! -
Just not as a squad though Although I've faint hope that Turf Wars may be playable in Squad Battles as it says Ranked Battle rules, not game types. Maybe you can play all 3 game types but you get ranked based on your Squad's performance..? I imagine I'm setting myself up for disappointment though... typical from Nintendo this generation, disappointing.
-
It's good they're giving us the Squad Battle, but is it only with the Ranked game modes? Or is it Ranked rules ie; you win and increase your rank. Will Turf War be included?!
-
I would love almost all of that @dazzybee. The only thing I'd do without is the stats... some people (not thinking of @Zechs Merquise at all here, honest) care too much about their stats and will rage when games effect their stats in a negative manner. People will start plug-pulling mid-game!
-
No! This is Nintendo we're talking about, they used to be leaders in game development, they used to set the standards! We shouldn't give them a break when they do a half-arsed effort, we should criticise when they're due it, when their games are below their own standards.
-
The next biggest thing for me is having slots for custom loadouts and having them changeable whilst in the lobby. I change weapons/clothing often and I hate that I have to back out all the time. It's so god damn annoying. It's the simplest of things yet Nintendo don't do it. They're beyond backwards at times. Also, it would be nice if they considered putting in friends only voice-chat for the friend match-making. Even if they don't want randoms talking (giving abuse) to each other, surely they realise it's nice for friends to talk to each other at least?
-
I'm glad it's releasing towards the start of the month. I've been getting bored quite quickly on it recently, gaming with friends will make all the difference.
-
I so hope they sort it out so that you can choose what game mode you want to play and let you play with friends in each he the August update rolls around. I quite like both Splatzones and Tower Control but it's annoying how you can't choose between the two when choosing to play ranked.
-
This is the thing. It's fun but in my opinion nowhere near as fun as it should be. It's fresh, that's definitely certain, but I couldn't say it's anywhere near as much fun as some other multiplayer games I've played... CoD, Battlefront and Battlefield (Battlefield especially) are much more fun for me and why I couldn't possibly see Splatoon as a defining game... it just does way too much wrong. Granted it is opinion and I do still enjoy Splatoon.
-
There's far too much that needs putting in for it to be rated higher in my eyes. It's too restrictive a game, it's as annoying as it is fun.

Broke a tooth, not registered with a dentist (dumbass me) so I'm having to go privately and pay through the nose. It was just chipped at first until I took a whack to the face playing football and a piece of the tooth broke off. EDIT: Got it fixed, thankfully all my other teeth are good, just needed a filling, my first one... I thought it looked much worse, haha.
-
If they do all this, add custom class slots, as well as the team match-making, it'd push the game to an 8/10 for me and I'd play it a lot more than I currently do.
