  1. Yeah, I concur, assuming we're talking about the same shot.
  2. Just come back from it. Can't be bothered to say why but I thought it was terrif and deserved a thread. Also it's directed by David Bowies son, which is impressive. Much love, DanLikesTrees
  3. I see your point, even if I disagree. Thought the main kid was really likeable, considering he's introduced as such a bully. All made me feel very good and warm, in a feelgood sort of way. I think 'trying hard to be kooky' is harsh when you compare it to other films which do try too hard to be kooky. By comparison I thought it all worked quite well / fitted / didn't seem overly kooky for kookiness sake. Defo wrote kooky too many times in that paragraph. Is it though? It's pretty washed out palette, aside from the dontlooknow red of the coat / sunnies. And I wouldn't say it's a depressingly lit film, it's gloomy but in a sort of charming nostalgic way.
  4. Really very tempted by I'll refrain. Might buy a
  5. Or, orrr, they could just go two regions but address those problems! Just a thought. Might drop my Gurrdurr. Just a bit whatever. Might swap electric spider for getting on with Tynamo.
  6. I have black. There was a trade in the second village or something. @Rez - But it has leech seed! Your fave!! I'd totez take you on and destroy you with Lilil (as the trainer trade has named it) but I have an old clunker DS and the wrong sort of wireless internet I think. Lame. Also: I would like to see everyone else's teams again in sprite form for comparison purposes. Natch.
  7. Lilligant is such a boss. Evolved mine today (Didn't realise I could have waited for leaf storm or whatevs, damn) Gotten right into this game, at last. Literally must have played about 8 hours today. Haven't done that with a game for years. Laziest day ever. Love it.
  8. How did this situation come to be?
  9. That bloke from IT Crowd's directorial debut. I adored it. Very quirky, though happily in a non-irritating way. Reminded me somewhat of a Welsh youthful 500DaysofSummer. Good things: - Wales is stunningly shot. - The lead actor is brilliant for a youngster. Not quite as sure about Jordana but I came round in the end. - It is achingly cool. - Good sense of humour. Deadpan. - The Alex Turner soundtrack is the best thing he's done since the orginal Arctic Monkeys album. Go watch!
  10. Right, internet has finally let me have it. I quite like it in parts. As The P Machine said, it is pretty simplistic, particularly on some tracks. The thing with Panic is that the are so completely on the line of guilty pleasure awesome and complete shit. Few of the tracks fall on the latter. I hate that half the band left. It's like, sorry does it even really count as the same band? I'm sure it'll become a guility pleasure love in time, but I'll probably always stray toward A Fever...
  11. I love my silly hat.
  12. Now, I thought this thread was stupid, but it is actually quite a bigger change than I'd thought. Just means comments on wall posts evolve into basically facebook chat things, what with it all being instant and stuff. I approve.
  13. I LOVE YOU Had no idea they had a third one on the way, never mind that it's out. Getting it as we speak. And yes this is a good point. Probably does justify it. Have a house in Leeds so might go these for the day, always been a Reading boy so it would be a change. Although they're probably almost identical. Death From Above are a music duo, think it's just bass and drums, bit heavy, but it works rather well. They're so good CSS named a song after them.. Also they have an excellent album cover
  14. Mmmm I was thinking of doing this too. If it was £20 cheaper I'd definitely do it. £80 seems a little too much, especially when travelling is factored in... gah. Definitely the best day though. Would genuinely love to see Panic! (I enjoy how we've both kept the exclamation mark). Make sure you catch Death From Above 1979 if you do go, newly reformed and I'd imagine brilliant live.
  15. I nearly bought a Hello Kitty Fisheye Camera recently, cos it was cheaper. I didn't though. The woman was sadly not included I love it though.
  16. Spot on. I still want to go though, one day. Probably when I'm old and want to feel youthful again. Re: R&L lineup. Looks pretty great. I'd pay the cash just for Muse / Strokes / Death from Above 1979 / The National. Classic weird lineup though, DFA1979 should have a better spot, considering it's (almost) the first time they'll have played england for like 10 years or whatever. And I dunno what Friendly Fires are doing on the mainstage, even if I do love them. But I'm not going. 3 years on the trot, didn't particularly enjoy last year, too many arsey 17 year olds, as the cliché goes. Didn't help that we were in a crap camping spot. And my x girl was in a whiny mood the entire festival. And we got chucked out for throwing scotch eggs.
  17. I would just like to say, I love how well your av works with these lofty statements. I love it. Is all. The Strokes - From Cover of Darkness Yes. I love it. Someday + Last Night, whatever, classic Strokes. doonntt call thatt waayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy iiimmmmm waaiiit ffoorr youuuuuuuuuuuuu
  18. Haha yes, I basically had to do that for the couple of friends I've convinced to watch it. I do wonder just how successful this show could have been if it didn't have a fucking awful name!! I don't think they could possibly have picked a name that sounds any less appealing to the mainstream...
  19. I concur. I recall thinking the ending was pretty decent. I think it's probably more irritating as an ending for people who have watched the entire show on TV. I think boxsetted then the resolutions are less unsatisfying. Ie,
  20. Lovely. Not such a fan of the fog effect as it's a bit too obviously photoshop but ya know. The watercolour and pencils combo works very well/ Question: what do you do, jobwise? Or assuming you're a student, any idea what you're going to do? I'm assuming this it'll be artsyness related.
  21. I was preparing for a stunning female vocal but then there was just piano. Still, I like it, may learn it if I find a sheet
  22. Interesting question / thread I feel. I find it strange how some people feel the need to be constantly surrounded with people. I've never felt this fear of being alone. I put it down to being an only child I guess. Social life massively varies. Do quite a lot with the housemates so it's never completely empty, but I go through phases of being busy every evening then not being atall. Tend to be a lot more active at summer, as jay said, there's just more to do. Not much to do in leeds daytime aside from cafes / cinema. I would say I definitely don't meet enough new people, particularly considering I'm at the point in my life where it's easiest to do so (uni) but there we go. Everyone else on this thread has said similar to that though. What came first, the lack of sociability or the forum?
