  1. Visually this looks fine. Sonic and the Secret Rings is perhaps the best third party Wii games graphics wise and it didn't look any better in still shots than this. Games like this are all about the motion and looking at these screens imagining everything that's going on I think this could look pretty stunning. My worry isn't anything about the graphics, it's simply how it plays as honestly I don't know if I consider a single game Sega Studios USA has put out to be "Good" (SA2: B, Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog and most of the team worked on the original SA. They might've done Billy Hatcher, Sonic the Hedgehog 360 and Sonic and the Secret Rings too but I've no idea about those ones, development on them is confusing.)
  2. Nintendo are actually being a tad greedy just now actually. They fully recognise that they can get away operating at the same level they currently are and can continue to make huge profits, where as hiring more staff and increasing game development has no guarantee to increase profits any higher as it's the extremely cheap to develop games like Brain Training that are responsible for these profits anyway. Games made specifically for hardcore gamers that actually take quite a bit of budget haven't been selling nearly as well. I mean look at it this way, games like Zelda and Fire Emblem have sold about 400,000 and 130,000 copies in Japan respectively. Those games probably had pretty huge budgets. Then look at Wiisports which is already a million seller (as it's not packed in there) and will probably continue to rise in sales for months and months to come, where as Zelda and Fire Emblem have already almost grinded to a halt. In other words, as a business decision, Nintendo are probably primarily focusing on appealing to this new "non-gamer" audience just now and feel they just have to do the bare minimum to keep the hardcore crowd happy, aka get out all the "big games" and space them out so there's always something in the future.
  3. No it's not and you're a poo poo head. In all seriousness I can say whatever the fuck I want.
  4. It's kinda gay that it's back to turn based, I know a lot of people were upset over the idea of real time battles before but come on, you cant keep a franchise like this exactly the same forever.
  5. This looks worse visually than the last few games to me...don't the Gamecube titles usually have reflections on the buildings like the Xbox one? The buildings here looked PS2 level.
  6. Oh fuck up you ****. Anyone who still believes that now is retarded. Do you think with all the developers out there with the system that if the real specs were different we wouldn't know? Do you think we'd be getting games that look like they fit the bill of the specs we do know exactly? It's 1.5 to 2 times as powerful, end of story. Perrin Kaplan said "2-3 times as power" as a rough estimate way before it was out. It ended up closer to the "2" end of things than the "3".. Also for the record I'm positive I seen a picture before of a dissected Wii and the specs were on the hardware and matched with the IGN numbers. Nintendo said they'd never "officially announce" the specs. You know why? Because they fucking knew they sucked ass and didn't want anyone to make a big deal out of them.
  7. Assuming he means the big Nintendo games then there was also the new Galaxy trailer at GDC, that wasn't that long ago. Obviously all the big shit will come at "E for all" in July. EDIT: Okay I'm confused, "E for all" is apparently October and the cut down E3 is July. Gah, I dunno what's happening games event wise now.
  8. Dewy is far nicer looking in my eyes. I actually think it is above Gamecube titles from a technical standpoint, it's great to see normal mapping being done. Only thing bothering me much is the shadows, I wish they were stencil shadows.
  9. Region specific is a bit annoying. What if you have friends in the US you want to play? This better not become a common feature in Wii online games.
  10. It's amazing how any Gamecube owner could've skipped this. It blew anything else on the system completely out of the water in terms of quality, even Wind Waker, Prime and the GC version of TP.
  11. When it says that about the "PS2 levels" honestly I think at most it'll mean we get improved lighting. I doubt they'll be retexturing and modelling the areas just for Wii, they'll just bump the lighting up to the GC standard.
  12. Crash looks retarded in this game.
  13. it also has new areas detailing the downfall of Umbrella Also if you think this "still looks like a PS2/Xbox game" then I guess you resign yourself to the fact that every Wii game looks like a PS2/Xbox game, because this is one of the best looking Wii titles.
  14. Maybe so, but to be blatantly honest part of RE's appeal has always been nice visuals, even if they were pre-rendered for so long. They want to make a main RE entry that's as visually astounding as they can possibly make it and they just can't get that on the Wii. They'd probably have to downgrade the game to an unrealistic point for it to run at all on the Wii and it might involve stripping out gameplay features because the Wii can't handle some visual effects important to the game. It may seem unfair that we're not getting a version of the game but it's definitely Nintendo's fault for going with such weak hardware.
  15. There'd need to be another option "Sonic is not in smash yet but will be". I honestly don't think they're anywhere close to done yet and when a new character is announced it's just going to be confirmation of one of the old ones, like how they made a big deal out of showing Fox off for some reason. I think they're still in talks about Sonic and it could be a while before he's confirmed in. I also don't think this game is coming till '08. If this is going to be a super massive hit like the others I think they need a huge amount of development time and they'd barely started at all at last E3. They'll also need a ton of time if they're really going to get Wifi up and running well.
  16. For the record Secret Rings is among the overall best selling Wii titles in Europe and is easily the best selling third party title in the UK. It's stuck in the top 40 since release and was in the top 5 for a good few weeks.
  17. That's kind of pointless not knowing a single thing that was said whatsoever.
  18. The whole point of getting the Wii version though will be to do it all again and have it feel kinda fresh and new. Why would you want to transfer your save? I think it'll be much more fun to work my way up from scratch again with new controls.
  19. Miyamoto has been over this a million times. Mario 128 was a bunch of tests, some of it is in Pikmin, the rest is in Super Mario Galaxy. If Mario 128 had ever properly existed it'd be a combination of both.
  20. Looking and sounding like it could be really good just now...but there's something "off" about the gameplay videos. I think it's how slow the speed is for a lightgun game...well I'm not sure, partly that and maybe partly how jittery the aiming reticule seems, it looks a bit annoying.
  21. I've never been so excited about buying a game I've already completed twice before again.
  22. There's also the recent patenting of the name "Sonic Rush Adventure", which could potentially either be a DS or Wii project. I say Wii because a poster on another forum I go to (who's very cryptic and it's impossible to really tell if he's serious or not but he's a confirmed ex-Sega employee) seems to think there's a real "Sonic Rush 2" in development for DS and has been for a while and hence the recent patenting of the name "Sonic Rush Adventure" could potentially be the next Sonic Wii title, which might link with a Rush 2. Entirely rumour and little to go on, but the patent exists at least.
  23. Except you can't aim unless you're holding in the button. When knifing you wont have to worry about a cursor spazzing out because the cursor only appears when you press a button in anyway.
  24. I thought it was hold A then press b to shoot? That's what I heard before. Those translations look dodgy because I doubt you can unequip the knife.
  25. Only a complete faggot would complain about the waggle for the knife, especially when there's a button option as well anyway. Sounds like shooting is handled through holding A to go into the aiming mode then b to shoot. Would've felt more natural as Z to aim to me but I guess this works.
