Ok. Now I officially want those oranges to make it to Brawl. Maybe as normal items. Most likely is shield roll. Maybe you can now jump in the middle of a roll? That would be cool. How did I forget that? It most likely will be. DK with the drums, Diddy with the guitar... We just need a vocalist and we're all set.
-
Woohoo! Jungle tech FTW! *Ahem* Pretty neat update. Gotta love the fact that Diddy has some really original moves. Peanuts are edible! I wonder if we'll get toasty peanuts when the gun explodes. RocketBarrel Boost is awesome. It looks like it controls like Ness's Up B-Move, but way more useful and practical. I wonder if you can let go of the barrels naturally... EDIT: He has an orange grenade? Awesome.
-
No, no. Maybe you have to hit the snot so it gets back in! Disgusting and unprobable, but a MicroGame like that could work. Maybe for the nose-picking contest you have to hit the hand at the right moment. What about the Mario Vs. Bowser Sumo contest? And the rope jumps? Will there be classic nintendo MicroGame$? I can't wait!

Awesome idea. Best stage thus far. I now have to replay WarioWare to see some of the ideas they may have implemented. About the reward...isn't completing the MicroGame a reward by itself? If you let those arrows/rain/earthquakes hit you, you'll probably get hurt.

As I said, I just find it really fun to play as those guys. And I forgot Jigglypuff! I love ticking off my friends with the Rest attack. Besides, there are many others I hate using as well. -Peach -Zelda -Ness -Pichu -Yoshi -Roy -Link

Ganondorf is my main. Captain Falcon is a close second. Fox comes third. Characters I like using, but not necessarily good with: -Samus -Falco -Mewtwo -Luigi -Kirby -Pikachu -Mr. Game & Watch -Ice Climbers -Donkey Kong -Bowser This is why I love Smash Bros. So much variety and the characters are so much fun to use.

Ooops. My mistake. When I first read that I thought it was a strategy/action hybrid. After seeing the trailer, I take back my previous statement. It looks like a Platformer/Pikmin hybrid. A platformer set in a small world filled with plants and fungi, where collecting stuff is vital for your progress.
-
Original? Check. Interesting? Check. Quirky/Charismatic World? Check. The foundations of a great game are here. I really hope this game can live up to the hype. To me, the gameplay sounds like a Pikmin/Age of Empires hybrid with some customization in the middle. Sounds great.

I wouldn't be to worried. By the way this entry was written, it sounded like gliding will be hard to control, let alone master. Exactly. It works like Yoshi's second jump. Plus, someone who is good at gliding will certainly be able to dodge those projectiles. Go watch the second trailer. Metaknight was gliding, but he wasn't descending. I just realized that gliding can introduce Smash to Air-Dash. A technique that's very fun to use in certain games. If that's the case, I will definately be using Pit more often.
-
So you can choose the direction you're flying? And on top of that, Pit and Metaknight have multiple jumps? And Pit can even Fly with the Up-B? Pit better be the lightest character on the roster. Or the weakest. That recovery is definately broken. I'm guessing Charizard can't jump very high. Maybe his Up-B Move sucks as well. But with the gliding technique, I guess his recovery will still be decent. Metaknight doesn't have a good Up-B move for recovery. He better don't. His swordplay is so fast, he jumps so high and glides. Metaknight will be such an awesome character. If Ridley is in, he'll probably glide as well.

Let me get this straight: Fire Emblem + Final Fantasy + Management? Sounds good. I like the idea.

Great update! Water impulses Squirtle up. How didn't I remember Waterfall? Although that move does look like Surf. Withdraw will be awesome. Your personal Koopa shell. Odd that Ivysaur's normal B-move is an Anti-air move as well. I can't recall another normal B Anti-air move. Vine Whip is awesome. 'Nuff said. Flamethrower was necessary. Sakurai said it himself. Rock Smash is hilarious. I expected some kind of claw move, but Charizard smashing rocks with his head will surely be awesome. Predictions: Squirtle will have Water Gun/Bubble. Hoping for the latter. Ivysaur will have Razor Leaf/Leech Seed. Hoping for the latter. It could work like Lip's Stick or Togepi's Metronome. Charizard will have Fly. I can see no other possibility.

I prefer the retro one as well. The monkey is disturbing and there are better floating heads with hands out there.

Once again, two updates for the price of one: Assist Trophy - Andross It’s the old enemy of the Star Fox team, Andross! He appears here in his original form, the one with the most impact. Whoa! He’s huge. He swiftly moves to the back of the scene... ...and begins inhaling... ...then he spits polygonal panels out of his mouth! Like a meteor storm, these panels come flying from the back of the scene to the front. Um, what am I supposed to call these things, anyway? They just keep flying out like crazy! "Only I have the brains to rule Lylat!" Uh...OK. He said it, not me... --------------------------------------------------------------- Smash ABC - Four Special Moves TypesThe actions that really define the personality of each character are the special moves! In Brawl, you can do four different moves with just one button and different directional tilts on the Control Stick. These are the four types. Control for each is quite simple. Standard special moves Many of these are basic attacks, like the firing of a weapon. (Normal Special Move: Mach Tornado) Side special moves These are bold attacks that launch in the direction you tilt the stick. (Side Special Move: Triple Dash) Up special moves These are crucial. They’re used to do high jumps and for recovering when you’re falling off the stage. (Up Special Move: Shuttle Loop) Down special moves Many of these do unusual things, like reflect enemy attacks. (Down Special Move: Dimensional Cape) Our model was Meta Knight. To enjoy more of the depth of the special moves, try holding the button down longer to charge up attacks, rapidly pressing the button repeatedly, or tilting the Control Stick while doing the moves. You might also want to try them in mid-air. Surprisingly, there’s a variety of hidden uses for many of them. ------------------------------------------------------------- Andross: Nice. Don't care much for the starfox series, but cool anyway. Metaknight's moves: Cool. Metaknight seems to be the most badass puffball we'll ever see.

Monster Lab - the Mad Science Alliance needs YOU!!

When I read that news comment I thought he was referring to the art style... I never played Conker, so I was probably wrong. Anyway, the game looks nice and it is a promising idea. It's kinda like Pokemon meets Custom Robo. But I certainly hope there is some variety. The majority of the custom cars in F-Zero GX sucked. After someone found some good cars, most people didn't bother to build more variations. Hopefully, this game is more varied and there are a lot of good combinations. -
I would sure advise you to play one game of the series. (not kirby's first Dream Land game, since that one doesn't have the copy ability. The curry is the only one that gives you cool powers.) The best is definetely Kirby Super Star (Kirby's Fun Pak) for the SNES, followed closely by Kirby's Dream Land 2 for the Game Boy. But there are other enjoyable Kirby games as well.

You're both correct, but I just wanted the name of the game and Shino got it first. And yes, it was an awesome underappreciated game. A game of this caliber can't rely solely on 1st and 2nd party developers. The fact that many famous videogame musicians and even Hideo Kojima are working on it proves it. Without those guys, there would be no awesome music or Snake in the game. I'm kinda hoping it doesn't. I want this game to truly impress me and a similar feeling to melee isn't gonna do it. A different style will prevent this from becoming "Melee 2.5".

Wait a sec, is Havok that physics engine that allows for a great interaction between the environment and the player? (Ex.: Destructible environments) *Searches a bit more* I didn't find anything about destructible environments, but I did find out about the games that utilise that engine. I was rather pleased with the results, since the physics in games like Half-Life 2 and Second Sight were excellent. I'm kinda surprised that Metroid Prime didn't utilise that engine. The physics for that game were excellent as well.

A few bosses I would like to see: - Shroob Princess; (Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time)

Gamecube games you thought would be good
Jonnas replied to mcj metroid's topic in General Gaming Discussion
My Cube disappointments were: -Starfox Adventures: The reviews tricked me. They told me it had a Zelda feel. If it hasn't good side-quests and a secret-filled world, it doesn't have that feeling. -Super Mario Sunshine: Once again, the reviews tricked me. Not as good as expected. -Mario Kart: Double Dash!!: I expected better things from it. Especially from a Multiplayer standpoint. The reason I bought this game was because the Multiplayer in F-Zero wasn't that good. -Mario Party 4: I expected it to be more frantic and whatnot. But since evrything is so slow, the fun quickly disappears. -Baten Kaitos: I had just played Tales of Symphonia and Skies of Arcadia. This RPG didn't live up to those games. It's not bad, but it was a disappointment anyway. -The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess: After so much time in development, I want to know why did this game felt so unpolished and poor in side-quests. -
That's her Front-A Air Move. She hits the enemy with the crown. If you doubt me, go play melee and pause. By the way, where is the scan with Red's pokémon fighting?

Hey, nice, Diddy Kong! I wasn't too excited about him since he looked like a generic chimp. But then I realized Smash Bros. has no chimps. Plus, this one uses fancy gadgets made of nuts and fruits. That is cooler than I ever thought it could be.* I was kinda hoping for a more unexpected newcomer, but I guess the "expected" newcomers are going to take a while, still. (Those being Ridley, King Dedede and, until recently, Diddy and Ike) * (I mean, other than the Diddy/Dixie combo I wanted, but that's kinda different. Diddy alone ain't so bad either.)
