I'm not sure the rate at which these things appear. Granted, the demo was probably tweaked to emphasise the new item, but is it always certain your going to have at least one appear in every match at some point, say you pay a 1 minute match, get one then, 2 minute match, get two then perhaps? Things will even out as you have lengthier matches. I don't think they'll ruin the game as per say Mario Power Tennis's Power Shots as some of them aren't really effective at all, if not in the right hands or the people/ai you're versing happen to have good evasive skills...

Have Sony/MS forgot about 'new' gamers?

Thanks for clearing that up. The riddle of referrals has now been resolved!

What does "Referrals" mean in your user profile (i.e. what is it)?

Are there any levels that have been revealed thus far that have a "solid" platform/wall structure like the bottom of Hyrule Temple where you can't jump through it and where if someone did a smash move on you, you hit the top bit and go ricochetting? You'd want to get under cover for this move, as although it has very short range, if you get caught, I think according to play impressions, its pretty much an instant KO...

Recommend me some GameCube games
Petey Piranah replied to Mikey's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Doshin The Giant (Unique god simulation game that was not released in the US, get it for that reason, and also after playing it a bit, you'll realise the game isn't half bad) Pikmin games (especially Pikmin 2, experience some Miyamoto creativity, under appreciated games) Stars Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron Games (In particular 2, the games dirt cheap and it will remind you of a wonderful time where Nintendo home consoles actually had games that pushed the system graphically, also 3 Rebel Strike if you like although the latter is somewhat ruined by mediocre foot missions) Super Monkey Ball games (great multi player games, experience target, race and billiards in their glorious classic form before Race & Target were totally ruined in Banana Blitz along with Billiards not even being a mini game!!!) -
Perfectly understandable... : peace:

It is the fish from Balloon Fight as I already said earlier, but the fish just brought back memories of that annoying ugly fat fish in SMB3 and I was just briefly reflecting on that memory...

We've Not Forgotten About the Hardcore Gamer - Nintendo
Petey Piranah replied to jammy2211's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Yeah I knew that... ***Pats dazzybees Doggy Avatars Head*** I think the only "real" hardcore gamers out there are the ones that spend thousands of dollars/pounds on replacing computer hardware to play the latest games on PC. I know I will be doing that when Duke Nukem Forever releases. I've been waiting ten years for this game, and it when it comes out, DAY 1, i'm gonna replace my entire computer in order to be able play this game in the "high" detail settings comfortably... -
The fish reminds me of that annoying fat fish in Super Mario Bros 3 in, not one, but two levels you had to run all the way to the end of the stage. Gulp, die...

We've Not Forgotten About the Hardcore Gamer - Nintendo
Petey Piranah replied to jammy2211's topic in Nintendo Gaming
This is not my personal view, but I think any game of a "mature" nature is considered to be more hardcore than the games you've listed. Examples include Grand Theft Auto, Gran Turismo, Final Fantasy (official installments), Resident Evil (official installments), Metal Gear Solid and relatively new and/or resurrected franchises such as Assassins Creed, Prince of Persia (latest official installment) and even Bionic Commando all of which are not coming to Wii. I think these are where the complaints are stemming from, the lack of official series installments on Wii, the very games that are giving consumers reasons to buy an alternative system in the first place. The only real wildcard in the game franchises i've mentioned above is Grand Theft Auto and that is subject to Rockstar considering Wii a viable platform for their "ultimate" franchise in which its fundamental mechanics (i.e. winning formula) have been designed on traditional platforms. Changing these in favor of motion sensing along with a graphical downgrade would probably be deemed too risky for their prized franchise. After all, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, as already evidenced by the phenominal demand for Grand Theft Auto games on traditional platforms... -
I think thats the case. Balloon Fighter will suffer the same fate as Little Mac and be an assist trophy...

Phantasy Star online Episode 3 C.A.R.D
Petey Piranah replied to Helmsly's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Yep thats the one... Just triggered my memory again... Been a while since I played. Only had about 3 to 4 attempts. Now I remember why I stopped playing, I cracked it because she literally had only 1 bit of HP health left and it went to her turn and her next move killed me, so frustrating. After I finish my exams, i'm gonna play PSO 3 again and beat Pollux and complete the Hunters storyline as I enjoyed the game when I played it for that brief period of time. Severely underappreciated GC game... -

I like the reference he chucked in today with the Pumpkin for Halloween... I can't wait for what update he's gonna treat us to on Christmas day...

Don't get me wrong, I quite like the Super Scope, got one in collectors condition with its original box, contents and four superscope games, Yoshis Safari, Battleclash, Metal Combat: Falcons Revenge and the Super 6 cartridge that came with the scope, but it was a failure of an accessory. I guess at least with the scope, it was required for play, with the Zapper (how can you even call it that???), its just plastic, its not as if theres a specific Wii remote built into it, its completely pointless, you can play without it. The Zapper surely has gotta take the title for most pointless gun accessory ever. Despite this, it'll probably outsell Super Scopes entire lifecycle performance in one day!

Those textures are blinding! Although i'm quite optimistic about this game, its from the same guys that made Excitebike 64, which was a blast. This is on my pending list...

Are there zooming abilities with your gun in the bikini mode? Not that it matters anyway considering the character models are so low res...
-
You think the Zapper is going to surpass Super Scope as the most pointless "gun" accessory of all time?
-
So Grand Theft Auto is not classed under "Hardcore"?
-
Are there any cancelled GC games left that could possibly come to Wii other than Kirby thats coming in 2008?

Phantasy Star online Episode 3 C.A.R.D
Petey Piranah replied to Helmsly's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I got up to this woman with long red hair I think (a major boss judging by the moody setting) and wasn't able to pass her, there was no other alternative missions, to progress in the game, I had to beat her... My stats ended up being too low so I sorta gave up... -
Gotta get this one day along with Odama and some of the other stranger GC exclusive games I don't have yet. Giftpia, Cubivore among others...

How many gamecube games you have left
Petey Piranah replied to Kirbii's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I've still got 36 games on my GC, all exclusives to the system, most recently sold Beach Spikers as it was in bad condition...
