  1. Magnificient news regarding Sonic, but already seeing quite a few fanboys complaining unjustifiably. Sonics inclusion is even bigger than that of Snakes, in the context of videogame history, in my opinion anyway. For many, many years, we've been waiting for an official avenue (i.e. developed/published game) to release where Mario & Sonic could duke it for real. It is now a reality. A childhood dream is now realised! This really is one of the best gaming announcements all year for me. I'm interested to see hows hes unlocked! I smell Mario/Sonic at The Olympic games linkage... Also I should note, thats a good price for Wii Ware (1,500) points for FF:CC. Very good price. 1,000 points for an N64 game, only 500 extra and you get a > and or = to Gamecube game. Can someone explain the significance of Monster Hunter 3? I've seen a lot of people hyping that more over Sonic being confirmed as a playable character in Brawl... EDIT: Just realised why...
  2. I reckon theres at least one game not on that Wii list... Wonder what'll be...
  3. Beautiful Dreamcast graphics we've come to expect, but this series/franchise is like the GTA of fishing games basically, so the fact its exclusive on Wii, is a big plus for fishing game enthusiasts...
  4. : peace: Theres no harm in a bit of optimism... Possible Sonic update in light of official confirmation, but also may be delayed until unveiled to western world with E for All conference... Todays update to follow...
  5. Its a more than satisfactory list for this event though. Near final game impressions for both Brawl and Galaxy, two of Nintendos biggest titles possibly this entire generation and a perfect opportunity to promote them given the monopoly Nintendo has on this event. NO Sony, NO Microsoft, GO NUTS NINTENDO!!! Expect a reference to the lack of September surprise, an apology from Reggie followed by a megaton announcement at the Nintendo conference... I expect the conference to go along these lines: At least one hour of shareholder related talk (i.e. sales etc), especially now given Nintendo have had a real smack in the face recently with significantly less sales on both their platforms worldwide, so there has never been more of an important time in recent memory to restore faith in shareholders confidencve and reassure them that their investment is a wise one; Half an hour or more on DS/Wii material that we have little interest for or already know about (i.e. Zapper games etc). That leaves about 20 minutes for the meaty part of the conference. Reggie will apologise for the lack of September announcement and will formally unveil what ever it was. From there he will say, that we (Nintendo) would like to make it up to you. At this point, 3 new games from Nintendo are formally unveiled: Animal Crossing with online play; Starfox Wii with online dogfights and co-op play; and the surprise game... Kid Icarus Wii formally unveiled for a 2009 release... Than a representative guy looking like a gangster thug storms onto the stage with a pimped out car, "Youre forgetting something there Reggie" than BAM, GTA compilation and GTA4 announced for Wii. Next, Yugi Naka makes to the stage, once again telling Reggie hes forgetting something. Sonic unveiled, megaton Smash Bros trailer, revealing a plethora of details. Finally a new gameplay trailer showing off all games being released for next year and beyond.
  6. No Mario Kart? No Endless Ocean? No Animal Crossing Wii? No Wii Motor Sports Airplane? No Wii Music? Wheres Disaster: Day of Crisis, has it suffered the same fate as Project Hammer? I think as per above, there will be at least one title not listed there that will appear at the show in line with the "subject to change" bit...
  7. The Prime series has suffered from what I dub "Ocarinaoftimeitis". Metroid Prime 1 was such a good game for its time, the series subsequent releases (including Corruption), just haven't been able to match it overall. Kid Icarus Wii will automatically score highly on the basis of freshness, something which is extremely difficult to replicate with multiple releases...
  8. Forgot about that tune...
  9. 1st ever Smash Bros stage music to have lyrics... Also Kirby Cook as known for a year and a half...
  10. 10 or 9 days to go until E for All (depending on which time region you're in). This is gonna be the gaming event we've been waiting for . No Sony, No Microsoft, just Nintendo (among other third party publishes), what a perfect promotion opportunity... :awesome:
  11. The graphics are disgusting, but this game looks incredibly fun. An almost certain purchase for me. This vs Umbrella Chronicles, this has had better impressions gameplay wise, so i'll probably get this over UC...
  12. Its common sense to assume she is a weak/fast type character, after all she is out of her suit, which is the very thing that makes her one of the most powerful video game characters around... I just hope she is selectable on the character select screen as an "alternative" skin. I'd be disappointed, if you could only play as ZSS after acquiring the smash orb...
  13. Intoxicate yourself excessively with an alcoholic substance and then play Warioware: Smooth Moves.
  14. I want to see Zero Suit Samus in that sort of pose standing next to Snake fully standing up so we can see who they've made taller. Snake is 182cm (5 foot 11 inches tall) and Samus is 190cm (6 foot 3 inches tall with her suit on), so now perhaps once and for all, we can get an indication of Samus's true height...
  15. Online is standard now, it's statistically proven (there was a report released recently that showed) that games with online modes sell double that of equivalent games without online. Nintendo fans have much higher expectations this generation and ignorance really is no excuse and will not remain to be accepted for much longer. Its only a matter of time before sales figures really start hurting developers of Wii games unless they make more of an effort (Nintendo themselves included as they are the primary cause of the problem)... Avoiding over emphasis of Wiis limitations is key to avoid consumers ultimately going permanently back to competitor offerings.
  16. So from this we could conclude that the conflict of interest is too significant for Sega so Sonic is certain to be a no show (for now * see below)? In that case, that narrows the megaton character down to (in no particular order) Megaman, Rayman, Ryu, Pac Man, Viewtiful Joe, Bomberman and Bonk. Simon Belmont is a guaranteed no show. There won't be two Konami characters in Brawl... *Of course, it is theoretically possible through Wii shop additional characters and levels could be made available to be bought at a late date as late as 2012, perhaps even with Sonic, once sales for M & S @ Olympics has reached its peak/maturity in its product life cycle, then he can make an apperance on Brawl, once bought and downloaded...
  17. It won't have any bearing on the enjoyment of the game should I decide to purchase it, as I was literally in a "WTF" mindset when viewing it (the ending)... I do dig First person games though, so regardless I think at the Nth hour, I will slap myself in the face and question the very reason for having second thoughts about getting this game in the first place...
  18. I merely suggested that possible solution as its the one that makes the most business sense for Sega. Sega need to make money on their game M&S @ Olympics for the reasons already stated regarding the "specialty" of having Mario & Sonic in the same game for the first time. Sega ultimately had the playing card for including Sonic in Brawl, its just a matter of whether they approved on the grounds of retaining satisfactory sales for their game...
  19. I've just about lost interest in this game entirely, unlike Galaxy and Brawl. Taken too long for Nintendo to release, is it still worth getting? (I've already seen the 100% ending though)...
  20. This could also be a possibility. Remember the Captain Olimar trophy and how you needed a save file of Pikmin on your memory and the next time you turned on Smash Bros Brawl you unlocked the trophy? Well how about, in order to acquire Sonic as a playable chararacter in Brawl, you MUST have a save file of Mario & Sonic at the olympics on your console. This way it'd encourage sales of both games. To get that megaton character, you'd be more likely to buy Mario & Sonic. This would be a good way of maximising Segas chance of reaching 5 million unit sales of Mario & Sonic while being of benefit to Nintendo and Hal Laboratories at the same time. Its a win-win situation for all. Anyone that wants Sonic in their copy of the game, can purchase Mario & Sonic at the Olympics, anyone that doesn't want Sonic in their copy of the game, simply don't buy the game. I can just see it now, save file, you turn on Brawl, straight away you have the flashing screen "A New Challenger" and you see Sonics silouette and then it takes you straight to the character select screen, where you duel him on a classic Sonic stage, beat him and hes your to play... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Co-op Play (For Adventure Mode) Confirmed! I will announce this right here, right now. In Adventure Mode: The Subspace Emissary, you can also play with two players simultaneously! Congratulations! It’s co-op play! So, whether you’re siblings or close friends, two can play together. Of the two, one will be the protagonist. Essentially, the camera follows the protagonist, so the other player has to keep up. Player 2 is kind of like another option. Basically, it is the same as a standard Smash brawl, so if you take damage and get knocked off the screen, you lose a life. However, this mode features a space jump that allows Player 2 to return to where Player 1 is even after getting left off the screen. If Player 2 gets separated from Player 1 by the screen scroll, he or she will quickly space jump back to Player 1's side. But, if Player 2 gets knocked off the screen by an enemy, that counts as a lost life. You just come back naturally. The Subspace Emissary has the following map screen. This is the map! The protagonists form teams based on the developments in the story, and the characters they encounter join their team. Choose a team and enter a stage. Your stock count, or the number of lives you can lose, is set for each stage. In single-player mode, each time you lose a life, you switch to a different character on your team and are revived as that new character until you run out of stock lives. (You choose the character order for your team members at the start of each stage.) In co-op mode, when either player 1 or player 2 loses a life, that player will be revived as another team member until your stock count runs out. But, if Player 1 loses a life after the stock count has run out, that’s the end! Player 2 is participating simply as an optional player, so be careful. By the way, you can also choose the difficulty level. From Easy to Intense! If you choose Easy, it will be quite easy indeed, so we definitely want people who aren’t very good at this type of game to give it a try! Even they will be able to make it to the ending. But, if you choose a harder difficulty, your rewards will be greater. That’s another part of the fun. And... There’s a method for powering yourself up as needed to do battle with the Subspace Army—a method that has not been seen before. I’ll explain this in great detail another time.
  21. Put me on the list for Sonic in Brawl. Although I remember reading an interview earlier this year about Mario & Sonic and in it, he was asked whether Sonic was in Brawl, he said something along the lines of "thats not on the cards at the moment", perhaps the stance is changed but given the novelty of the olympics game being the 1st game to feature both characters in the same game, as mentioned above, would Sega really approve to having Sonic in Brawl, wouldn't it just be detremental to sales of that game, or would it a clever marketing plan, where the day of its release or the day before, he is announced for Brawl.
  22. 360 degree platforming action. This is the main fuss about it. The fact you walk/jump execute actions while upside down with gravity affecting your ability to move/jump etc... The games just oozing with creativy and the fact Miyamotos "directing" the game has people even more excited. You just only need to take a chapter out of history to see the outcomes of games Miyamoto has directed (not produced), Super Mario Bros 3, Ocarina of Time, Super Mario 64...
  23. Sakurai sure seems to like Snakes ass...
  24. You're one of the first places in the world to receive sunlight even being a whole two hours before Australia, so automatically superior to most...
