  1. Cool update, especially the last bit
  2. Love the moody music in this game. Really enhances the whole atmosphere... Although I see the door lag problem is still apparent (Around 6:43 mark).
  3. So what if Bioshock beats OOT by a few points, what does it matter? Its just a part of life now, superior facilities leads to superior results. It's bound to happen and unavoidable. The professional sporting world is a primary example of this: Harry Bonds HAS surpassed Hank Arrons all time home run record Roger Federer WILL surpass Pete Sampras's all time grand time win record Tiger Woods WILL surpass Jack Nicklaus's all time major win record Murali (can't be bothered spelling his full name) WILL surpass Shane Warnes all time wicket record in the next test match or two he plays and there are many more examples I can't be bothered listing here. But how does this relate to Bioshock vs Ocarina of Time? Simple, different eras with different resources available. Of course Bioshock with superior facilities and budgets can produce a game of higher quality. But a few decimal number cannot take away from OOT what it was able to achieve. To release at the time it did and blow everything else right out of the water, no decimal difference can take that away from OOT. While this Bioshock business doesn't phase me, just search Bioshock beat OOT in google and you'll already see dozens of forum topics discussing the very issue. Mark my words, if this day actually comes, the internet will be clinically dead for a little while as a result of excessive rage... EDIT: I just realised the magnitude of Bioshocks task of beating OOT. It appears to be cruisin' at the moment, but remember, Bioshock is released in an era where well over 100 reviews will be entered into the database. All these 90+ extra reviews being submitted need to consistently have a score above 95% to have any real chance of sticking above 97.7%. Also with 13 reviews thus far on 98.4%, it still needs 19 more reviews scoring over 9.5 to retain around the ratio its on. One of the usual low scorer guys will drastically drop the ratio. I think anyone who actually remotely cares about this, can rest easy, the task is extremely difficult and Bioshock will not beat OOT, especially when the Japanese reviews start coming in... Oh yeah and Corruptions gonna be awesome
  4. My personal top 5 most wanted yet to be announced potential brawl playable characters: 5) King K Rool --> about time Donkey Kong faces his arch rival again in 3D... 4) Ridley --> as mentioned in previous pages, appropriate given his attributes, being featured in the Melee opening FMV etc... 3) Megaman --> Samus vs Megaman, the ultimate battle of the arm cannons. He certainly isn't a clone of Samus would handle differently and use different projectiles 2) Sonic --> No comment needed here. The history of gaming speaks for itself... 1) Little Mac --> Why? Think about it. He is Nintendos single greatest real fighter that uses his fists, not fancy weaponry like Nintendos most famous mascots. To omit him out of a fighting game just doesn't make sense. I know exactly what his move set would be, particularly his final smash. It would involve a series of stars appearing like you earn in Punch Out for counter punching etc, and they makes him flash, granting him the KO punches you could inflict on opponents in the game to do massive damage. In this instance, being punched while in this mode results in an instant KO. It does not wear off until Little Mac is hit. One touch and the final smash wears off. Add the character as well as a punch out themed boxing ring level with an orchestrated version of the punch out music while in a fight and you have one awesome new addition to Smash Bros Brawl... Honorable Mentions (most already mentioned in previous posts): Captain Olimar, Diddy Kong, King Dee Dee, Paper Mario, Ryu, Birdo, Krystal, Viewtiful Joe, Simon Belmont, Battletoads.
  5. Todays update just about confirms Toad won't be a playable character unfortunately...
  6. Ok, crunch time. Trophies or Online Mode? (Assuming theres the situation where only one feature could be incorporated into the final game)...
  7. I'd like to see an online trading system for collectables in Brawl. In Melee, I literally got 100+ Mario trophies, yet I could do nothing with him. With online trade, you could trade with other players around the world for collectibles you don't have while getting rid of your doubles...
  8. Notice the letter "a", it doesn't say THE which would mean it was the sole collection element in the game. I like it, but I am already seeing a large number of people moan about this new sticker element including a few already in this forum, saying that as long as trophies are still in everything will be fine. It would be such a disgrace not being able to zoom in on upskirt like you could with a certain female character trophy, zoom in on tight ass, crotch or full on breasts (sarcasm). Isn't the world wide web enough for you people?
  9. A Nintendo offering actually surpasses Metal Gear Solid? That was a surprise... Although, its not very encouaging to see that they aren't looking forward to a multitude of Wii offerings like they are for PS3 and Xbox360 <-- This is the other surprise, does Xbox360 even exist in Japan
  10. Don't all of your computers have DVD drives where you can (providing you have the required software) watch, rip content directly from the DVD disc whether it be stills or actual footage at your pleasure, hence eliminating the need for a DVD Wii in the first place?
  11. Or else you will DIE Had to chuck that pun in...
  12. How does he disappear when defeated in "stock mode" PLAYER 2/COMPUTER PLAYER DEFEATED, what will happen, will he just disappear suddenly Red Steel Style? I hope not...
  13. Matts feature is interesting and reminded me of similar random thoughts I had the other day. Have Nintendo missed out on a big opportunity here? Ever since Wii was first announced, the first thoughts that were immediately tossed up among the gaming community were the potential of First Person games, particularly shooters on Wii. None thus far have lived up to being hailed a superior offering to conventional console shooters (PC excluded). This may be about to change with the release of MP3. But there is cause for concern. Critical acclaim is one thing, but what good is it if its not backed up by impressive sales? This is just the sort of thing that'll get developers attention, "yes there really is a market for our first person shooter game" and they may just decide to bring other quality shooters to Wii as a result using the MP3 controls as a benchmark surely equaling efforts that make Red Steel look like a concept in comparison. It's really disturbing to think that Mario Party 8 could in fact possibly outsell MP3, when it clearly doesn't deserve to...
  14. Really maybe I might've missed it, if there is, someone let me know how to reconfigure it to WPA, it'd be much appreciated. I've missed enough Everybody votes Channel polls!
  15. I can't download it at the moment as I use WPA security for my wireless internet which is not compatiable with Wii at the moment... Hopefully, they'll add a WPA option soon, I haven't been able to use the Everybody Votes Channel for ages, I was participating in it and using it everyday I tell ya!
  16. Nice to see Sakurai being nice and efficient again with updates, compared to the debarcle that occured last week, with nearly four hours delay on the updates of DK Final Smash and Ike.
  17. Samus vs Megaman, the ultimate battle of the arm cannons. The 1st stage of Megaman X could be a perfect battle arena for the game, cars driving by on roads, you have to jump over them while in battle and then occasionally those large droid enemies drop down on the stage and destory a large chunk of the road and also those huge pinkish helicopters shoot at you and you have to avoid the bullets to avoid taking damage similar to the Corneria stage in Melee. For music the stage would feature a reworked version of the music from that 1st stage...
  18. Wii it is. But based on the results I can still see it going onto PS3 as well unfortunately... Hopefully he'll be in Brawl as well But thats wishful thinking on my part...
  19. Perhaps Bongo Blast style transporting, acts as a jet pack style vehicle just like the actual racing game for the motion levels. Chance of the above happening: 0%.
  20. I saw a rather nice recreation of the Master Sword complete with scarrab being sold on Ebay the other day and would've bought had it not been for the banning of swords without an exemption where I reside.
  21. Even better would be topless sumo Link as per Twilight Princess. He and his sexy boobies would set the stage a light! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE = Smoke Ball <-- Item This is an item that has absolutely no effect on characters...but it’s pretty fun. When you hit something with one of these... PSHHHHH! It releases a cloud of colored smoke! As the cloud forms, it blocks your vision with an effective smoke screen. If your opponent gets caught in a thick cloud of smoke, it’s a distraction, and if you’re covered in smoke, it’s harder for your opponent to see what moves you’re doing. Hmm... So colorful! You can even pick up Smoke Balls that are emitting smoke and carry them or throw them. Talk about smoke and mirrors! Cough! Cough!
  22. 16.5 hours till updates start again for another week!
  23. THE SUCESSOR TO THE CLOUDS!
  24. An easter egg that could still potentially link to the fact the alleged characters are actually playable in the game, but I guess we'll know December 3rd at the latest, perhaps earlier...
  25. Their vision is to put one of their prized franchises on systems where the franchise has actually performed well. Even if the hardware requirements were met with Nintendos current home console, the chances of this game appearing would've be slim to none anyway for the very reason that Resident Evil 4 on GC was instantaneously outperformed sales wise by the trimmed down PS2 port... The game was near perfection, indicative with the all time high average scores its gotten on popular game ranking sites like gamestats and gamerankings. Guaranteed RE5 will follow suit of other all time great games releasing and subsequent follow ups, not exceeding the masterful predecessor games (e.g. Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Majoras Mask score wise, was not able to surpass OOT). Of course there are exceptions, but they're in the minority these days...
