We've Not Forgotten About the Hardcore Gamer - Nintendo

If they've not forgotten about the hardcore gamer, why discuss it? -
The Legend of Zelda:Twilight Princess

I just went by this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nintendo_games_created_by_Shigeru_Miyamoto Although theres a lot of conflicting information on wikipedia (listed just a few)... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Mario_Bros._3 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shigeru_Miyamoto http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takashi_Tezuka http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ocarina_of_time I guess the conclusion you can draw from this is when Miyamoto has "significant" input into a game, it delivers... -

Correct. When Miyamoto is at the helm as director, you get nothing but all time greatness. OOT, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Bros 3, and now Super Mario Galaxy... Miyamoto initially started as director for TP, but suddenly changed roles and became producer instead, giving the head job to Eiji Aonuma, which probably explains why there is a severe deviation in the consistency/quality of the game in the second half. Had Miyamoto been the "director" froms start to finish, I think we would've had a far better game overall... Miyamote IS Nintendo. It will be a very sad day when he retires... THE GREATEST! -
I am expecting an update on "Lottery" soon firstly confirming its back but secondly the announcement that its been expanded to accommodate the two additional collectables in the game of CDs and Stickers. There will either be three different machines for you to place your money in to obtain trophies, cds or stickers or there will be one single machine you put your money in and which category of collectable comes out is really luck of the draw, although i'd prefer three seperate machines. What would seperate this Lottery mode apart from Melees though is that it will have an "online trading" component to it. Remember that annoying situation in Melee where you had multiple amounts of one particular common trophy and you couldn't do anything with it? Well fear not, in this "online trading component" you can post what you want to get rid of and say what you want in exchange. It'll essentially be a trading post where you can exchange collectables with other Smash Bros Brawl players. Theres bound to be that one collectable you can never seem to get, but now you can get it! Either this, or maybe a "selling system" within the game where you give up certain trophies for money perhaps (amounts depend on availability/odds of getting that trophy in the game, so Celebi in Melee for example would be of higher value, where as something like Mario would be of lower value), in which the coins you get from selling your excess trophies can be used to gamble in lottery. Essentially, a cashiers desk...

I rapt Lottery has made a return. It was one of my favorite extras in Melee. I remember sitting down playing Melee watching the sunset outside my corner window and spending hundreds of coins while listening to that nice music in the background (which for Brawl I wouldn't mind if that were the music (for Lottery Mode), perhaps tweaked slightly?). A rollercoaster of emotions followed with this extra mode, one time I spent 200 coins and got the standard Mario trophy, not happy indeed, but others were filled with triumph as spending big paid off, upon which i'd pump my fist in the air and yell "YES!" with a moment of silence afterwards to absorb the achievement of me acquiring one of the games rarest trophies...

I'd very much like to see that happen... :awesome: Lottery pretty much confirmed to return today... <-- You use them to gamble for trophies...

Theres a very good chance considering 1) He was one of the highest demanded third party characters behind Sonic, 2) While hes only been in one game, he was in one critical Mario game on SNES in Super Mario RPG, he has a cult following with certain groups of people as already mentioned earlier hence why demand in the surveys so high. You only need to go back to the survey to see that the bulk of the characters that have fared well in the survey have made the cut and I think if it were to be only one between Geno and Megaman, Geno would take it out merely for demand, although out of the two, i'd prefer Megaman. Both would be the best though!

Whats are your favourites tunes from Wii games so far?
Petey Piranah replied to Falcon_BlizZACK's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Wii Play Billiards & Wii Play Air Hockey. -
Its between Geno and Megaman or if Sakurai is ultra generous might have both, although more likely to only be one of them. That is all. The rest don't have a chance in the world, not enough demand in the surveys...
-
Fixed. Cloud has no place in this game, at all...

This game is setting the benchmark for value in a game. Possibility the longest replay value ever as i've already said. Mario Kart now has no excuse for not having a track creator/editor mode.

:bowdown:STAGE BUILDER!!! You can create your own stages this time?! No way. REALLY?! With a feature like that, won’t I be able to play this game forever?! Apparently it’s true...!!! Those who enjoy a little effort may be able to enjoy this stage builder for the rest of their lives. First, start from the initialize setting. You start by choosing the size of the stage, the background pattern, and the music that will play. Oops! Sorry. For music, you’ll only be able to choose from the songs you have available. This is the edit screen! Basically, you choose parts from the palette on the side and place them in the field. The controls vary by controller, but each one can do the following: Flip parts left to right Enlarge or shrink parts Zoom in or out on the screen Swap palettes Erase ...Among other things. Just place terrain however you like. Chuckity-chuckity-CHUCK! Then try it out! Modify it and try it... Repeat as necessary. Make your own ideal stage! Mmm... That’s amazing. And you can save a name and a comment for the stage. You can change the music on the save screen. Choose something that matches the mood of your stage. And I’m happy that this is compatible with SD cards. You don’t have to worry about size, so make as many stages as you like. Also, if you’ve finished registering someone as both a Wii Friend and a Smash friend, you’ll be able to send custom stages to each other. Now, for those who hate putting effort into such things, we’ve also prepared something you can enjoy as well. "Submit" ...? That’s right! You can use your Wi-Fi connection to send stages you’ve made to Nintendo! (However, you can’t submit repeatedly. Maybe just once per day?) And a stage selected from the entire daily collection will be sent from Nintendo to your Wii. A stage made by someone else will come to you over the Internet once per day! DUN DUN DUNNNNNN! That’s the shocking truth. This means you’ll be able to experience a new stage every day—the flavor of the day, if you will. However, the plan is for that stage to vanish once one day has passed. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime encounter. You can submit in both the Snapshots mode and the Stage Builder mode, allowing everyone to enjoy the creations of others. The fun of sharing is one of the ways that I wanted to take advantage of Wi-Fi for something other than pure battling. Today’s stage has lots of traps... This is our ideal current plan. We still don’t know the exact service period. And future tuning may result in changes to the spec. But for now, please look forward to it! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is greater than the online announcement for me. While online is a welcome feature, i've got a fairly crappy limited usage plan so my ability to use the feature is limited, but with this, its confirmed i'll be playing this game for pretty much the whole of 2008. Best value for money game possibly ever...

I don't either as I usually play at a relaxed pace as i'm keen on exploring the surrounding areas in the game. But some will react to this with ZOMG too short, Galaxy is worse than Sunshine confirmed attitude...

This is going to upset quite a few of you, but i'll post it anyway: The rest (of the 41 Q&A's) can be found here: http://forum.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=97213&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

Its dead even with Halo 2, both at 8 million units sold. Don't know which is higher though...

Nah it certainly ain't Goldeneye, beaten that game 100%. Quite interesting that its the best selling first person shooter ever released on consoles that is...

Number 3 has already been guessed correctly, Jonnas got in before everyone else, its Metroid Fusion.

For pic 1, i'm gonna say, Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion. EDIT: Just realised the PSG guns a knock off of BFG 9000 from Doom, so I'd say this guess is wrong...

I don't have a default character I use. I choose characters based on what is needed to achieve certain objectives (i.e. beat classic without a single bit of damage, use DK, KO 5+ frames to get Mr Resetti, Jigglypuff, beat all star mode without continuing, Roy B special etc)...

YES! Right you are. I also would've accepted Fantastic Night Dreams: Cotton as the name as well as what you said. Can't be bothered inserting full images, but search the games and you'll find the full images. Rulez ruled that round. CLUE for Game 2: The "Purple sky" game has two words in the game title that relate to an upcoming release on Wii of a ressurected franchise from Sega. The game was released on a handheld unit, think to recent releases on virtual console, what companies that made consoles are on there? CLUE for Game 3: This game was released on what you could dub a hybrid between handheld and console. It is an extremely rare game only released in one NTSC region. Why is there only black and red, shouldn't the game have other colors in it?

Brawls been subject to quite a few character leakings recently. Firstly Sheik (Zelda transformation) and Generic Animal Crossing "Main Character" from Aunoma interview (however you spell his name), Luigi from a Nintendo rep and now Krystal...
-
100% certainty of Krystal being playable. Just too much demand for her not to make the cut...
