It's just a bad view of how the industry works, and is a pretty stupid 'take' on next gen as we don't know what these consoles will take place as, who's going after what market etc. Wii HD will be going more for the casual then the Wii originally intended to, that's the only thing I think we can definitely say. Non of it's worth thinking about though, and your methods of categorizing everything is just too niave.

I'm sure all the major publishes in the world wish that the video game market was that simple. Albeit, I'm not sure if the way you put it was simple or not. To be honest I'm not even sure what you were saying. *shrug*.

I think what King V was really saying was that PS360 caters to a wide variety of games, for the games most people on here really care for. You're right in that they don't have many kids games (Albeit I think all the movie spin offs cater to that) or minigames, but not many of 'us' care. As for platformers I don't think the Wii really does better, it's like, Mario Galaxy vs Ratchet and Clank. That's about it 0_o, the genre barely exsists nowadays.

Judging from the success Nintendo and a few third parties have had when implementing that sort of advert, yes.
-
Probably. With Guitar Hero adverts they'll still appeal just as much to the Wii audience anyway. To Market COD on Wii you'd need to make it with all the bad actors looking like they're having fun really into it diving behind the sofa and whatever. Guitar Hero's adverts pretty much do all that anyway.
-
It's Octagonal :P. And oddly, my third party N64 Controllers have it :/. And er, I've never really liked it, only a minor thing but I prefer a full circle. I'd say that's more accurate 0_o.

Even if the WT adverts say "Xbox 360" on the end, most of the Wii owners will see the adverts and want it, and expect / inquire about it being on the Wii etc. Not to mention the fact previous Guitar Hero's have been advertised on the Wii, and the huge giant boxes of the things all around the retail stores. With a game like Call of Duty I can see it over-shadowed the WIi version without a proper marketing campaign (Not saying the Xbox 360 had one), but Guitar Hero? Not so much.

It's called "The Wand". Fail?

I was just being annoying. But er, seriously, I'm not sure if Pokemon would work on a console. I mean, it'd be amazing with a real time battle system, huge open world, online system etc... just I can't see it ever happening. I do hope one day we see some form of monster catching MMO type thing, such an awesome idea and no ones bothered to jump on it.
-
MMO would be amazing, but it's not even worth thinking about. Now Pokemon Racing, there's an idea I'm amazed no ones suggested.

VGChartz is reasonable, don't take it as the gospal but it's all we've got. They didn't do bad, Monster Hunter 3 will probably come to the west, I was just saying this Monster Hunter G game won't. Who knows, I don't even care about this series lol.

Wow, Facebreaker was an absolute disaster, lolz. But yeah, two isn't bad when you think how many games they released, and Mirror's Edge is still going to break 1 million in a few weeks, albeit after rigerous price cuts. No. It's one of the few games that seemed to hold it's price this Christmas at every retailer 0_o.
-
Wow the magazines still exsist, do people buy them? But yeah, sounds pretty lazy on Activisions part. They seem to be good at thinking they can sell a game on brand alone, hence why Quantum of Solace was a bit of a disaster in the end. Call of Duty pulls it off every year on the HD consoles, but I guess it's just not got that brand awareness on the Wii.
-
Not played the first, keeping an strong eye on the second though. Can see me parting with my cash for either this or LOTR, most likely this. Time to hassle for a review copy .
-
If only it were that simple. There are expenses well beyond just translating the game and sorting it's TV region coding. And er, I'd be very surprised if Monster Hunter went past 50k sales in Europe on PS2. If it were viable Capcom would do it.
-
Could be true enough, it makes alot more sense showing the HD versions as most of the press is just screenshots and trailers. I'm not sure how much of a difference press coverage makes on a Wii title though, can only hinder it though. I do go back to the fact the Wii version had TV adds in the US of A. But yeah, bring on The Conduit.
-
You mean there one flop :/.
-
There was another one too I think? And I swear I'd heard about MySims Racing a year ago. Might of been in the gaming press unannounced though. But yeah, MySims is a big selling franchise for EA on the Wii and DS, expect plenty more where this came from.
-
Because all the previous editions were flops outside Japan? :/
-
From VGchartz MoH:H2 is at 250k America alone, Europe will be smaller numbers so you're look at about 380k LTD. From what I've read alot of those sales were after price cuts ealry in it's life though, so EA probably weren't making much off the game after the first 200k of sales. The PS360 version of COW:WAW wasn't really marketed either, it probably had more of a budget but it'd be neglileble to lead to the 360 version outselling the Wii 10:1 or something like that. Wii version had TV adverts in the US too. But yeah, The Conduit should be interesting. I think it'll give us a good scope as to how much press hype / critical reception can help with a Wii games sales, provided it lives up to expectations.
-
That'll have been the retailers choice, not Activision. TV adverts in the US apparently, not much hype in Europe though. The reason you saw decent marketing for RE4 was cause Nintendo published it in Europe. I didn't see a great deal of marketing for any version of COD:WAW, the gaming press hyped the HD versions up alot more but that's not marketing on Activision's part, just positive press reception. I'm guessing they had a much stronger presense in the US.

Well, maybe it's just worn off on me after probably playing the exact same formula 15 times with the same chararacter for the same reason, most of the time, using the same weapons. Nintendo mixed up Metroid and Mario really well in previous releases... surely they can do something similiar for Zelda?
-
I'm tired of the same thing. Zelda goes missing, Link has to stop Ganon, travels 10 dugeons in each one he gets a new item, and then goes to the next repeat until final boss. It's worse when non of the dungeions even begin to get difficult. It's an exhausted and dated formula for me, they can add random stuff like turning into a wolf or sailing the sea (Neither of which added to my enjoyment of their respective games) but I'd rather see them rework the series entirely, somehow. I'd like to see a more open world with alot more freedom, as oppose to HAVING to do this to get that item so you can go there etc.
-
The Wii version was quite strongly marketed according to some of the American's I've seen discussing it. TV adverts and whatnot, I'd guess it obviously had more in the form of PS360 but I didn't see any advertising for the game on any system in the UK? If it's anything like their marketing of Guitar Hero then Activision will have done the adverts with every system in mind and advertised....
