I'm still lamenting the loss of flight stands. Hawkgirl looks like shite just standing there. At least give them a bit so it looks like they're in the air.

I loved today. Went into college for my shift. i.e sitting in a room of the exhibition to answer the people's questions/guard shit. Then as more people dribbled in I got the low-down on what happened after I left last night. It was too big. The song Someone Else's Bed by Hole just plays throughout. The technician guy and a woman on the course. But then they're both like 30, so you deal. Adults lead lives. It just feels like a barrier has been broken. Also other people my age choosing strange bedfellows, but then you learn. Then my goodie friend came to see the exhibition, and just joined us as we all strolled in the sun to get an ice-cream and sit in the sun. Sadly Leith as an area is full of maddened chavvy people so it felt dulled. But a nice time. Then spent day with friend, eventually going to other friends gig. But took so long to get going/before they were on stage, that we just spent too much time reminiscing all the jokes of our past, and texting/phoning chair to take part in said remembrance.

£6.50 For some reason eBay bidding appears to be okay in regards to my ruling of "No more books this month!". Just cause of potential good deals going to waste. What cvolume comes after this, those-in-the-know? Is it Black Glove or Resurrection of Ra's Al Ghul?

Bear in mind I AM an artist-in-training. Art is the bestest. But I know too well when things don't come out in the right way via art/writing/song/dance/other medium.

Typed out an essay long thing about my night/my actual thoughts/ myself/ the most confessional thing I've ever writtten/how tonight was so potentially good and of course ended up a depressing walk away from the bar which in turn just sums up EVERYTHING in my head at/ how I've traced my entire way f precessing life back to the concepts of perception and ideals and the need for them or GTFO/ Fuck off/ignore. tl;dr: I hate myself and have no idea. I'm an identity-less blank slate. I don't know what to do without an identity. I'm just gonna listen to All Saints remixes and see if that helps. I'm sure (well actually I don't believe it but people shout it at me so I'll play along) it's teen angst or whatever amplifying shit, but my head is a bowl of nothing. I have no basis or identity. That's no "angst". I'm horrific/ied.

Finally got the internet back, recommend me stuff!

Actually old. But worth it. -
Oh! I saw someone pick up that Comic Heroes thing in Forbidden Planet today, but wasn't sure where from/what is was. I was intrigued, if only because I had no idea where he'd found it.

Just back from the exhibition. The sweatiset thing/place ever. Sped around and avoided standing for too long in one place, so unbearably hot. Didn't win a prize, but everything would have been in the wrong place if I had. All the love went to the true best. People went to pub, but I'm home for dinner/to change out of formal wear, then will meet them at said pub/in town somewhere.

I'm unsure of my opinion on maxidresses on women because I hardly ever see them...I want to say that a stunning look is a white one with a short leather(esque) jacket on top. I think a friend of mine may have worn that once, and I was lying there, motionless. But apart from that, I have no opinion other than it's nice. I'm unconvinced by the flower on the front though.

Sorry, but... --- Brightest Day this week had nothing of note happen really. Apart from the first appearance of the new Aqualad. *yawn* I got bored of catching up with Ultimate Fantastic Four after Millar's run. God War was too long and uninteresting and I hate whoever did the art for Devils. Also skimmed through the Silver Surfer arc and the one after that (again due to the art/lack of interest).

I hate the humidity. It's the the evil, bitter sister of heat. Today was really (relative to Edinburgh) humid, with nary a hint of actual sun.

Katy Perry expands on what she said about Blasphemy in music videos or whatever. To be fair, she is entitled to her own opinion. And she's not an insane religious person. *shrug* (Though I hate when people - specifically religious- take the very use of things like the cross as offensive. When they clearly aren't used offensively.) --- I'm sew excited to listen to Miley Cyrus' new album. I can't be tamed.

I thought it was alright...they clearly wanted to get off to a quick start. However the team just reminds me of crap. I wish Marvel had some sort of standards...whoring out Wolverine feels rubbish. Spider-Man is technically the same, but he's entertaining. Wolverine as an Avenger is the most ridiculous idea. He's actually in a wetworks/black ops team whose purpose is for undercover killing, as well as the X-Men and the main Avengers. It's STUPID. Spider-Man should be the same, but at least it's less idiotic. And of all people, why would you invite The Thing? He adds nothing. Cage, Ms. Marvel, Spidey and presumably Jewel all are super-strong already.

So exhausted, exhibition's giving me nightmares. Thankfully I'm displaying my film on a little TV, which looks 100x nicer than a laptop in an exhibition format. So much precous time was spent faffing though with the concept of space and wood and boards and shit that even though I rested not once during the day except for lunch hour, I still have loads to do. Have to do some collage shit tonight, then take it to a printers tomorrow and hope they can do it all within a few hours so I can put it on the wal behind my work for the exhibiton that opens tomorrow evening. *collapses* Just had a little sleep, then awoke to find my mum had brought home fish shop chips. Literally so Essential.

I love Disney. So much. I used to think I was a cynical person, but I'm actually a huge romantic, and I love the idea of everything being so nice and planned and themed into a unifed whole. Universal Studios also stuns. (and the otther ones like SeaWorld less so, but still add in other ways)

I assume you mean't "aren't". I was applying for jobs in the Festival. Since no one's going to take me on at the moment - I'm in Orkney for a needlessly dividing 2 weeks. And a fringe job/s would be too appropriate. But one I was filling out, loving the idea as I went, then got to the bit where it was like "Tell us about your experiences with *name of venue company* before!" and 'Why do you love us!" and things like that. I could try and blag it, but I'll do it tomorrow.

Yeah that's partially why I've never wanted to go to a UK theme park. I can tell there's no..."magic". Or just a lack of thought in general. Relative to the US (and probably elsewhere in the world too)

Job applications are making me annoyed. Having no referees is ruining my day. I meant to get references from my tutors, then stopped looking for a job, so never did. Bumholes. And now is the worst time to ask, since it's everyone screaming at the fact of the exhibition being on Thursday.

Walking Dead I assume? The hat looks ridiculous, but then again I guess that's what they look like in real life. -- Been reading Ultimate Fantastic Four today. I started it years ago but only got mid-way through the Nihil storyline. I've enjoyed it. Greg Land needs to die though. It's not EVEN the tracing that annoys me. It's the bizarre facial expressions. Half the time they don't convey what is intended. The splash page at the end of one issue (just before Tomb of Namor) with Sue going "Mom?" is ridiculous. How could ANYONE think that her expression conveys shock/suprise? It's clearly from porn, some bimbo doing a fake stupid face. And the stupid faces he tries to use to suggest "shouting!" and "awe", with the puckered lips. It's so awful. He's actually much better these days. In terms of getting the story to flow. Less of a discrepincy (sp?) between his traced work and his own work. too. UGH. Especially after the gorgeous artwork of Jae Lee in the Think Tank story, and Kubert before that. However, I enjoyed the series. Not as good as Mark Millar's Ultimate X-Men, but a sufficently enjoyable retelling, and I like how they aren't superheroes, just joke adventurerers if the situation calls for it. I also though the Ultimate Frightful Four was a stroke of genius, an element I really loved actually. Not sure why.

Alien prequel in 3-D....fuck offfffffffff

Plus Leela's mum (on the bottom right) is Callisto, who only has one eye in X-Men. So the joke is told to a point.

Maybe I'm just even less in the mood, but this was hands-down the worst for me. Half of it wasn't even...jokes. It was you doing things. I have no idea how to express what I felt. It was less than "nothing", because it didn't feel like what I was watching was even a joke, never mind if it was a success or failure. I liked Jonny's bit. That was amusing, and quite inventive. But this was a new low in a different direction IMO. It was just nothing. The Nein thing isn't a joke. I've never understood what it's meant to evoke, why, or what it's recurrance signifies. Sorry.

I love Yu. <3 Have since I first saw his stuff in X-Men, but he's better now. And Ghost Rider is blowing me. I'm so intrigued by the guy in the airport. I like how Millar is mixing both original and established Marvel characters. --- My graphic novels in a horrible phone photo; In order from the top: Dark Avengers: Assemble X-Factor: The Longest Night All-Star Batman & Robin, The Boy Wonder Animal Man vol. 1 Ms. Marvel: Civil War Ms. Marvel: Best of the Best We3 New X-men: Ultimate Collection vol. 1 All-Star Superman Vol.2 All-Star Superman Vol.1 Ultimate X-Men Volume 13 Ultimate Spider-Man Volume 21 Marvel Comics vs. DC Comics Mighty Avengers: Venom Bomb Batman: Terror Batman: Featuring Two-Face and The Riddler Batman: Thrillkiller Futurama-O-Rama The Astounding Wolf-Man Vol.1 1602 Astonishing X-Men: Gifted Uncanny X-men: Dominant Species Uncanny X-men: Hope JLA: Year One Supergirl Teen Titans: The Future Is Now JSA: Ghost Stories JSA: Mixed Signals Arkham Asylum: Living Hell Batman: The Dark Knight Strikes Again Batman: Child Of Dreams Batman: Harley Quinn Batman/Spider-Man Batman: The Scottish Connection Batman: Knightfall, Part One: Broken Bat Batman: Contagion I also have Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth, The Killing Joke and The Dark Knight Returns, but they're being loaned to people atm. Might Avengers ruins the feel being really cheap looking gold. But then I got it in Amsterdam. Maybe it's different there. Or they just changed the Marvel sign back to Red and White on their Hardcovers by the time they released Dark Avengers.

I didn't! I just suddenly felt like I needed it if I were to buy Spider-Man: Ultimatum and then presumably the X-Men one when I eventually work my way up through the Ult. X-Men trades. I realistically won't end up buying it cause I need to save my pennies. --- Thoughts on various things - The new art style on Ultimate Spider-man isn't as horrific as Happenstance warned me (or I don't hate it as much), but I kinda wish Immonen or Bagley were still on it...the book feels different without them. HOWEVER I LOVED when they acknowledged my only major gripe with the art - Peter's hair. It was ridiculous. - Ultimate Comics: Avengers Vol.1 was very fun. Especially after the Ultimates were tarnished in Ultimates 3. I've started New Ultimates too by Jeph Loeb and you can tell it's really "...". It just feels like it should be a 616 story. It's all too bad for me. I like the inclusion of Valkyrie in concept, but there's no need. I don't see why New Ultimates as a book even exists. Do Marvel really like Loeb that much? The ultimates team is continuing fine in Avengers.
