  1. that's what you get for going on holiday!
  2. news that'll keep Daft in comic books! Batman Beyond news!
  3. if you can get this going I'm up for it
  4. 1. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time and the fictional Detective is Sherlock Holmes
  5. and Morrison confirms it himself here
  6. so my shout for Batman writer was right! I've been enjoying Snyder's run on Detective comics and just picked up the two American Vampire trades and they're pretty good as well. Should be a good book
  7. That's a good shout, although I'd assume he'll probably stay on a Superman book of some sort and someone like Scott Snyder will do Batman
  8. indeed, I doubt that cliffhangers finality myself so after seeing X-Men first class I'm looking to read some quality X-Men comics, now I've already read Whedon's Astonishing run and Morrison's New X-men, so other than those what can people recommend? I've heard Claremont and Byrne's run was good but no idea what parts of their run to try and get.
  9. so has anyone been watching this then? It's been really good so far, and pretty faithful to the book (has been a while since I read it though) Peter Dinklage has been outstanding as Tyrion Lannister. The only problem is I know exactly what's coming next!
  10. yeah the publishers put up some first issues as free copies and they have regular sales in the store. Every Monday the have a sale on a selection of Marvel Comics (the last two weeks have been Messiah Complex and X-Factor), and at the weekend there were a selection of Green Lantern comics for $0.99 each
  11. well there are apps for iPad, iPhone and Android. You can also read them on your PC The main player at the moment is Comixology who have deals with all the major publishers.
  12. hopefully we'll be back to one a month now (I think I've said that the last 5 issues now ) DC doing digital and print copy combo pack for Justice League #1
  13. Saw it last night, brilliant film. McAvoy and Fassbender were amazing (although Magneto going Irish towards the end was a bit weird ) the nods to the future films were good as well
  14. I'd assume we'll find out about the other big name comics in the next few days (the Bat Books, the Green Lantern Books and the Superman books)
  15. Obviously everything will become clearer once they make the formal announcements and the September Solicits come out, but anything that is introduced to get more people into comics can only be a good thing. Will be interesting to see how things go, a blank canvas for the DC Universe as designed by Geoff Johns I'll be disappointed if Secret Six isn't continuing though!
  16. just need to hope they can keep Jim Lee to a tight schedule
  17. I think it's safe to say it'll be massively better than that car crash of a movie
  18. made my day, tickets now booked for Glasgow!
  19. Yeah so Green lantern. Didn't see that coming Love the letters page from the walking dead he got so much grief for what he did to Carl
  20. I do remember at the turn of the century that they said there had been two years without war in the 20th century, can't remember which ones though
  21. yeah but Ashley Cole is a dick
  22. well that's Harold 0 for 2 now, guess we have to wait until October to see if he's right about the complete destruction of Earth!
  23. The Rapture haven't had this much press coverage in ages!
  24. will be interesting tomorrow if the Blackpool fans decide to name a certain footballer during the game then will Sky have to mute the sound?
  25. I don't think it's a joke, the only thing wrong with it is that there isn't the risk of the second bottom team going down, introduce a playoff between 2nd in the First Division and 11th in the SPL and we'll have less meaningless games. The split ensures that unless a team has been isolated either at the top or bottom then most games will have some meaning post split. The issue you have with the team in 7th having more points than the teams above them comes about because the 7th placed team gets to play more games against the bottom half, so they would be expected to get more points than the team who finished 6th who have to play Celtic and Rangers and the other top half teams again The only way they can change the league without a split is if they go back to 10 teams but the likelihood of that is the same as Turkeys voting for Christmas
