so having read this weeks comics my thoughts Flashpoint #5 - I've enjoyed the event, but it seems to me it took 5 issues just so
-
I assume he's referring to the art, I enjoyed it as a one-off but don't think I'd read a whole series in that style

well normally retailers are not allowed to return the comics they order to the publishers however in order to get stock of the 52 in the shops DC have stated that if they order certain numbers of certain books they will allow retailers to return any unsold copies and get their money back (or a large chunk of it anyway) I can't remember which books it was, but it wasn't the major books like Batman, Action Comics, Justice League, etc (assuming this is what you're referring to)

the Wonder Woman, Emperor Aquaman and Lois Lane minis cover more of the back story as to why the Amazonians and the Atlantans are at war, not really essential but I enjoyed them

well it's a 40 page issue, which is larger than normal (32 pages), but most issues of Flashpoint have been that long. Of course the page count includes adverts which usually account for 10 or so pages

my problem with DRM is that current methods only seem to penalise the paying customer rather than the pirate
-
well you could wait till they reach issue 96 and then they'll issue a new compendium (less than a year to go in single issue terms, but I'd expect it for next October at least) the Uncanny X-Men cover sans silhouettes

extra good thing about those X-Men covers is that I don't see Greg Land's name on any of them!

He is indeed. So I'm reading Fables in Deluxe HC and I must say it's a damn good book, writing and art are both brilliant. My only problem is being 75 issues behind!

out of curiosity what happened 35 years ago that they are referring to this as the biggest shake up since?

Downing really impressed me in the game against Arsenal, can't say the same about Andy Carroll, he looked completely out of his depth.

Stormwatch and Grifter are Wildstorm properties that have now been folded into the DCU apart from that I don't know much about them, but Stormwatch is being written by Paul Cornell, so should hopefully be good

using Google translate helps a bit, it does seem to have an english audio track, it is advertised as the complete series, but doesn't specify exactly what the contents are

I always use Midtowns list to check what's due out next week, it's pretty reliable Had a look at the Invincible Compendium when I was in the shop today and it was pretty impressive, hefty tome though

well the cover above is a homage (or if people are feeling nasty it's called a swipe) of the cover of the first issue of Grant Morrison's run on New X-Men which was drawn by Frank Quitely Normally an iconic cover such as that will only be used for Variants (not sure in the case above) and not the regular cover. Cover Swiping is a fairly common occurrence in comics. I'll try and find some examples!
