Yeah I suppose you are right, I mean I do have gay friends who are what you call 'normal', if anyone can actually be normal. And I guess that there a people from all walks of life where some are just over the top. The thing is though, people are nver gonna be viewed completely equal in my opinion. The reason being that people ncan't possibly be equal as we are all different.

I've been reading this thread for a while without commenting (as I often do on these forums) and a thought came to mind. I'm not gay or anything but can someone please explain to me why they care so much what society thinks about them? I grew up on rough council estates where I generally stood out from the rest. i.e they were dressed in chav wear and had awful hair as opposed to me wearing more rocky type clothing and having longer hair. On a daily basis I would get harrassed for being different but I just ignored/laughed it off. Now I understand that LGBT people may get a rougher time than what I do/did, but why do you feel it is necessary to campaign and showing people what you are. Wouldn't it be better to leave these ignorant arseholes who can't accept differences out of your lives?

Yeah same here.... I think they also agree if you listen to any recent live recording of the song, it is so much better live. For me Arctic Monkeys are pretty much the best band of this generation along with The Long Blondes (who unfortunately split). Onto Muse i think some individual songs of theirs are pretty decent, but when I've heard an album together in full with all the inbetweeny bits they have I just get bored. Same with Foo Fighters, they are decent but not very spectacular in my eyes.

Unemployment, travelling and smoking thread. Apparently.

Thanks for the help, I definatley chose the wrong time to live/graduate it seems but it does help that I'm not the only one I guess. I have tried one agency, the woman there was really obnoxious and clearly coudn't be bothered in helping me- but maybe it was just my bad luck, I will look at going to others for sure. And I have gone for jobs other than leeds like the surrounding areas (basically west yorkshire- huddersfield, Bradford, Wakefield etc.), maybe I should go even further a field and look at Manchester and Sheffield. Great help though, thanks a lot- 562 replies

I don't write on these boards very often these days. I hide in the shadows like a stalker of sorts... but anyway onto my point I recently graduated with a 2:1 honours degree in accountancy and finance and cannot get a job no matter how hard I try. At first I applied for the top accountancy roles but received nothing. Then I applied for these as well general administration type work just so I could get my foot in- all they usually want is people with experience in work even though I can do the required tasks, its very frustrating. So in that second stage i got invited for 2 interviews. One was a trainee legal cashier, i got into the top 2 but lost out to whoever that bugger was. The second was for an accounts payable clerk in which I got invited back for the second round of interviews- but still lost out in the final stages again. I have also applied for countless amounts of retail work and the like also but received no reply. Last week i even went for one of those door to door sales jobs and got it! Until finding out afterwards that it was commission only having spent a full days waste of an interview. I did a runner on my first day of which I am proud, it is definately not stable enough work to partake in!! So this week I got an interview for telesales but it doesn't seem like I have got that either. So overall, I have applied for well over 200 jobs in these past few months and received for interviews; 2 i got to the final stages, 1 I am yet to here from and the other I did a runner from- 100% commission is not an option for me. It makes you feel like 'so what's the point?' but I must continue. So anways thats my very long winded story (sorry). My question is, does anyone know where I can go to get a telesales, admin job- just so I can get my foot in the door- in leeds. The only real experience I have is a part time sales assistant in a retail store. Thanks and good luck everyone- don't give in.- 562 replies

Cloverfield, Did it live up to the hype? *Spoilers*
Woz replied to Mokong's topic in General Chit Chat
i actually thought it was the worst film i can remember seeing. And this is after watching a shockingly poor film called 'the darkest light' which made the film sound it was gonna be amazing- yet it was set in the yorkshire dales and was about the virgin mary (i'm being serious). Cloverfield really spoiled my date too as we were both shocked as to how shite it actually was. -
I too shout tuneage :awesome: I notice you're from yorkshire too, maybe it's a yorkshire thing........

Haha that's generally the reply i get when i tell them to people! They just don't understand........ More! (but i can't claim these ones to be mine unfortunately) Why couldn't the sailor play cards? Because he was sat on the deck! hahaha why are pirates called pirates? Because they arrrrrrrrrrr! hahahaha

Yeah you lot can be annoying like that, but we have to forgive you as we are useless without you! *throws her a hubba-bubba to stop the whimpers*
-
it's especially annoying getting ignored by a lady friend, when they lead you into a false sense of security by telling you how much they fucking like you!! Then, suddenly, out of the blue, they ignore you! it is the single most annoying thing ever.
-
Lol I was the only person who laughed at the cat lady in the cinemas I think. And the "I like men now" by Ralph was also quite funny. But seeing as though I have been slating the film so much I thought I'd share my favourie part and then go to bed. The "I was elected to lead not read" had me going for a while.

Who gives a shit about people thinking it to be too samey. Mr. Burns is possibly the greatest character ever to be created!
-
He could of put a big glass dome over Springfield....... edit: (regarding what Burn's could do)
-
i know what your saying about Mr. Burns but from what I can recall ( a few days have passed) the new villian wasn't a funny character, and this to me made it too hollywood-y-fied-y (yes it is a real word) And I know bart wanted to become a Flanders before but this time it was done in a really wierd way, this and the Colin parts were the really crap elements of the film for me. While I think on again, Where was Duff man. Love him. Anyway, let's hope for a quite big imporovement for the sequal.
-
And while I'm at it, does anyone think like me that Bart's voice sounded slightly different? Maybe it was the improved speaker sound at the cinemas but the tone of the voice sounded out, as did Lisa's now I come to think about it. Maybe I'm being too negative.
-
I said exactly what the empire review said to my mates when coming out of the cinema, before actually reading it. No bloody burns hardly, it should of been him who was the villian not that crappy new guy. And why was it Arnie who was president and not Mcbane. ( I realise Mcbane is a parody of Arnie, so why the hell did they use him? It baffled me.) And don't even get me started on that annoying thing called Colin and Bart being all wierd wanting to become a Flanders.... OK it was an alright film ( didn't like the sproosed (sp?) up animation either) but I wanted Burnsy!!!!
-
Don't mean to highlight the last paragraph again  , but what you have said here is basically where I am, I so wish I had a lass, I'm just too bloody shy around the ladys to go for it when the opportunity arises. It will all work out though i am sure of it, everything usually does for me, but it usually happens at the latest possible time..... which is pretty fucking annoying at times.

Now that is just harsh, now he has even more to worry about. hahaha like your style though

This school sounds very american to be in england if you get what I mean. I suspect there's a 'cool' person what everyone looks up to/wants to be. If people did any of this to me ( I do like the making people think he fancys a male teacher suggestion) I'd find it funny, I wouldnt give a shit, everyone else probably wouldn't. Maybe it's a west yorkshire/Northern thing though. where is your school? But this guy does sound like a cock head though. So if you really must ruin his life, try this. Say that while you were in the toilet the other day he came into the cubicle and tried to kiss you, saying that he was in love with you, and the only reason why he started being a **** to you. was because of this. Nothing against gays, but the whole 'he is gay' thing normally works.

*Holds back punching haggis in the mouth..... then sees 'Avril Lavigne awesome album'..... goes mental* Nah she isn't too bad is are Avril, but I can't beleive that there isn't many arctic monkeys fans on these pages. To get things going, a line from 'this house is a circus': (possibly the greatest lyrics ever!) "This house is a circus, beserk as fuck. We tend to see that as a perk though. Look.... " And Flourescent adolescent (sp?): " That boys a slag, the best you ever had". Have I converted anyone yet? Also as I am really bored, has anyone heard the japanese bonus track 'da frame 2r'? Crap name like but great tune.... opening lyrics: "007 and brucie wayne, are shitting them 'sens 'cause there's another name...." What more can be said, they are pure genius.

So What does Everyone think of the new Arctic Monkeys album? I think it's class to be honest, improves on the first album ever so slightly. Best track is Balaclava, it's just so bloody fast! Opinions?
