1:1 sword fighting isn't needed in zelda, the sword use in the wii version is like pressing a button rather than pretending to swing a sword and I think it's fine that way. Is it easy to control? Yes. Though I played some oot and mm and went back to twilight princess to find myself looking for a b button during fights lol. And as far as left/right handed Links go: I don't mind so much that Link is a righty in the wii version, since nothing's that precise. I can aim twice as well with my left hand than my right, but you get used to it quickly. And it's generally a lot more accurate than aiming with a stick no matter what-handed you are.

what is your first nintendo game you renember playing?
Jonwah replied to Kirbii's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Super Mariokart on the Snes. First one I owned was tetris on the gameboy though. -
Just my two cents on Wind Waker here: While it was good, I find it quite hard to play through again. It's a long game, but you spend a hell of a lot of time sailing from one place to another, it's extremely tedius having to sail back and forth for extended periods of time. The first few dungeons are great fun but by the wind temple I just get bored and stop playing. I've played through TP thrice now and I do find it more replayable than WW, and I'm sure it'd take longer to complete than WW if it had a huge mass of sea everywhere so that it took 15 minutes to get from one area to the next while you sit and watch link sailing in a straight line forever. TP isn't the best Zelda but I personally think it's a lot better than wind waker. Also, having not been on the forums for a month or two, it's nice to see motion2000 still arguing at full steam with everyone.

I'm an attempted completionist. I will start most games with an intent to get 100% I will often get to maybe 80% and then either give up or keep going, depending on how good it is. If I give though, I feel really annoyed with myself. I've 100%'d a fair few games but I will admit to often giving up on some more teidus titles.

Ah just put it on a disc already! I was planning on buying these after the season was released on CD, but if they're coming to the wii, then awesome!

My wii isn't great at streaming videos, it has to buffer constantly. I'm guessing that's normal though. Bit of a shame, my computers can stream it all almost instantly.
-
I'd buy this, if it isn't a ps2 or psp port of an old game. So fingers crossed for that, if it's even true.

I just got my hd cable for sky the other day, so I can watch some channels in high definition. It's beautiful. But after watching some gobsmackingly good pictures, I realised I'd rather just be watching something I really enjoyed in normal resolution. So I feel kind of idiotic, getting excited about high definition and then finding out I actually would rather have fun over beauty. But Nintendo couldn't care less about this discussion we're having. It's about money and they're making it. Why should anybody care if the ps3 sells more? Doesn't mean they're more financially successful. In my opinion I don't think the ps3 will outsell the wii, because it'll just turn out to be the same as the ds for the average non-hardcore gamer. I could be wrong but I don't care as long as I have fun.

Classic Controllers are always overpriced where I live. Wiiplay is nowhere to be found. Nunchucks and remotes are ten a penny. I really want the CC and Play

The well is really annoying, there're holes everywhere!

It would be cool/interesting to see if Ganondorf did have a reason why he became so power hungry. But I doubt anything could really come from it...

"can you kind of understand how I feel debating with creationists?" Ha trust me it works both ways. It's like two brick walls talking to eachother.
-
And what I was getting at was the fact that the bible isn't full of facts and statistics about when things died out and when certain breeds of dog were created. I'm not talking about interpritations etc, I was merely pointing out that the bible doesn't give us all the facts and all the small bits of information. I wasn't talking about the interpretation of the bible in terms of lessons etc, that's a whooooole different debate.
-
Interestingly, a big flaw with the evolutionary theory is it's backwards methodolgy and reverse engineering.
-
The bible tells you what you need to know. God saw no need to tell us specificly when the dinosaurs existed and then died out. There is breif mention of gigantic beasts and such however.
-
I'm sorry, can carbondating only accurately measure 60,000 years?? Well that'd explain how we discovered how ever many billion years old the universe is no?
-
"WHERE ARE YOUR FACTS YOU HORRIBLE RELIGIOUS PERSON etc etc" I think you are me in disguise, you just don't know it :P
-
I have been open minded in my discoveries, I have always looked at things with the possibility that christianity is wrong. Though I do have an actual relationship with God that I can feel, so there is bias, but I'm never ignorant enough to just dismiss anything anti religious. I assumed that science is atheist, not you. 'generally accepted athiest views'. I didn't start this argument, far from it.
-
I do... Though interestingly, I do also think that the flood, in the bible, came up from the earth and back down again. Causing huge shifts in geography and such, which is why a lot of fossils are muddled etc. And I have got a big amazingly interesting book explaining this theory, it isn't just some instantly dismissive crap. And I'm very aware that Creationism isn't put to the same tests as scientific models. But that's because religion isn't a science. Science is the anti-religion. Never will Science totaly agree with Religion on an issue, hence this entire discussion. That's something that will never change, along with our opinions. I mean you can't be a creationist without believing in God surely?
-
See, it isn't a proven fact. It's still a theory. There is no absolute proof here. Why would we have a creationism vs evolution thread if it was already totaly decided? There are many many theories as to the formation of fossil records etc. "It's quite ironic that you accept geological evidence as a prove that the Earth is billions of years old, and don't accept the fossil record and even geological proofs of evolution" What? I thought I said I thought the Earth is not billions of years old? Annnnd, since you're all ganging up on me here, and I'm the only one actually supporting creationism at the moment. I'm slightly struggling. I don't know everything I'm afraid, I can't answer everything, espcially not straight away, and especially if your only reason for asking is to shoot me down again. Calm down.

No I can't say I remember any. But why would I? I don't tend to remember all the abuse I've heard over the years. I also don't really know any racists, black or white.
-
First of all I apologise humbly for my misuse of the English language. I am truly ashamed and will shortly be whipping myself with a long stick untill I learn better. Secondly of all, it is a case of faith, since currently your model of evolution isn't absolute, it is just a 'good enough for now' concept. You have to believe that it is fact until it is replaced by another more plausable model. Granted it is much less of a faith than creationism, since it's more accepted in the scientific world. But it still is a case of faith, the entire scientific principle is a case of faith and assumptions. You assume that for now, the evolutionary theory is correct and have faith that it is. I'm sorry maybe I'm missing something, but there seems to be some faith involved there. Maybe I'm just more aware of what I believe in is a faith. And you want me to sit here and document to you everything I've looked at that supports my religion? Go through every single thing I've read and looked at over the past few years? To you? So you can then shake it off as nonsense because it contradicts generally accepted athiestic views? If this debate calls for it I may do some time. I keep saying I'm not arguing here but I keep finding myself fighting my corner, since I'm on my own...
-
I'm not here to argue, I'm here to tell you my opinion. I'm not here to sway anyone or anything like that. If you don't agree with me, fair enough, the majority of the world won't do. But don't expect me to sit here and fight my corner like a child. And I considered billions of years obviously, I'm not stupid. But I also came to the conclusion that we're only a few thousand years old. In my opinion.

How much do channels generally take up? So far I've only got the news and internet ones and I can't remember how big they are. Is there any way to remove a channel such as the news channel or that opinions channel that I haven't got yet?
-
only to A level :P And I remember in English we were looking at something or other and we came across a new word that had been added to the dictionary that had been created by the black community (apparently) to refer to White people. I've forgotten what it was. I just found it funny how they were allowed to do that. Plus have you ever heard that black people are 'cooler' than white people? That's something I was reminded of by a few people over time lol. Other than that I can't think of any examples. But if somebody made fun of me for being white I wouldn't care, I'd just take it like I'd take any normal insult. It's not like I'd be being repressed, which IS racist.
