Count me in. Will probably be home about 9.45.

I shouldn't have to pay extra for a Ethernet adapter, the Wi-Fi should just work. Even if I was thinking of getting one when I eventually move next month... but that's besides the point. This game ran flawlessly in the first couple of days, every other online game I play runs flawlessly, all the time, every time. Yet Splatoon 2 has been getting worse and worse over time. Today I've managed about 5 games in Ranked mode and that's it. I've had 5 disconnects today alone and had 2 or 3 last night. I know the problem isn't at my end because everything else is running smoothly and has been all day. I've restarted my router and nothing has changed. I'm sick of wasting my time with this game.

Went into Salmon Run for a couple of games before work, kicked out within 30 second. This is turning into a joke, and not a funny one, James Corden levels of hilarity. Should I upgrade my 40 mb/s Internet to something even faster??? Nope, Nintendo go suck a bag of dicks for charging me fifty fat ones for a game I haven't even been able to play today.

It just happened I second time and I lost my Profeshional ranking... If paying really does mean better online / servers then I'm happy to pay it, especially considering it's so cheap for the year, but if there's no improvement what so ever, then Nintendo can do one. My experience with Splatoon 2 thus far has been bordering on embarrassing. I have fibre Internet, it's usually faultless, but I've been forced to sit through about 2 cumulative hours worth of "please wait 5 minutes" because I've been booted from matches or lobbies. I'm one of the lucky ones, in so much as my Switch has a full Wi-Fi signal in every corner of my flat, so I can't even imagine how frustrating it would be for someone who's Switch wireless connection is problematic. I left them feedback on the game (and the awful online) in an email they sent me after purchasing through Nintendo, whether they listen is another matter. They've got to 2017 without listening to anyone but themselves, so I doubt they'll start now.

So this happened. I wonder if an alternate universe exists where Nintendo and the Internet get along just fine.

I'm free for Salmon Run tomorrow before 4 and after 10pm. Thursday the same. As for League Battles I'm happy to give it go whenever anyone else is available, either in a pair or as a team of four.

What else would it be.... Getting so tired of these disconnects. Al least we've managed to string a few wins together now. Trying out a new roller and it's not as great as I remember

When there is a much more popular choice teams would inevitably play against each other. Happened plenty of times in the first game. My only guess at why there is so much outcry would be there are many more Westerners playing this time round and probably a lot of people playing for the first time.

I think 2000+ is generally considered to be the most elite players. I had some shocking games last night, but made up for it with a few wins this afternoon. I can't remember exactly so maybe someone else can shed some light on it, but I'm pretty certain had this Splatfest used the old score weighting from the first game, Ketchup would have won. The fact that it was just declared as "2-1" because of the three individual results (vote, solo and team) means the most popular choice is almost always going to be at a slight advantage, unless of course you believe "all the 7 year olds chose Ketchup" that people are saying on GAF

Awwwww yeah team mayo! A win margin of 51%-49% in both solo and team battles. Crazy close in the end! How did everyone do? I only managed 15 games and had a win ratio of 9-6 and a highest power score of 1679. Finished as a defender and was granted a measly 9 shells.

Playing splatfest drunk was a bad idea. And in handheld mode for the first time. I'm losing. So sorry team mayo. Please don't hate me xoxo

I'm away this weekend, so I'm likely going to miss it According to the app, it seems most of the N-E heathens have sided with Ketchup, so that might be your best bet.

The lack of the jumping mini-game is really noticeable, isn't it? I played around with the music for a while before I got bored, but I've also been waiting a while on occasion. Generally it's quick, especially in the evening, but at other times it's painfully slow. Still, I'm an ardent supporter of the map-rotation and the reduction to two hours. I can still get around 15+ games done in an hour, where as choosing load outs and maps every time would definitely hinder that number. I feel like I've learned all the new maps, with the Main Stage being the only one I'd consider a dud. I'm also happy to use the Sniper, for example, for a few rounds, then back out, change my gear and go hell for leather with the N-Zap '85. I personally prefer this set up to choosing prior to every round, but can understand why others don't particularly like it.

On another note incidentally, when in game I haven't really noticed any of the issues with lag. In Splatoon 1, I was constantly getting splatted before I could even react, in this game I've not experienced that at all. That was my biggest frustration with the first game (though probably due to the fact I was playing with the Japanese 90% of the time), so I'm glad it doesn't seem to be rearing it's ugly head this time round. The new maps are great, if a little small, and the weapons seem much more balanced. Overall I'm pleased with how this turned out, but there's still some issues that are really holding it back.

I've been getting really frustrated with the matchmaking recently. First few days it was perfect, but now I'm getting loads of disconnects and keep getting put on incompetent teams. As in, I'd get more kills than the rest combined and more than double the second best player in terms of area covered. Normally I'd let this slide if it was the odd occasion, but it's happening so consistently that the game just isn't fun for long periods. I'm at level 20, and when I get put in a team with a load of sub level 8s up against an entire team of teens and twenties it's just frustrating as hell. I'm not trying to say I'm better than most, blah blah blah, because I'm really not, but the matchmaking is simply atrocious, it lacks any kind of intelligence. I don't mind playing against similar or tougher opponents, but when I feel like I'm on my own for games on end, it just saps all the fun out of it. I've lost my fresh ranking in loads of weapons and have been having to sit through a few time bans over the past couple of days, even though I know my connection is not the issue. Sorely tempted to just put this game to one side or exclusively stick to Salmon Run. It needs sorting out ASAP.

Shovel Knight DLC is available on the eShop now. Free until August 16th.

@Glen-i@Sméagol I'm done for the night, but some good games and close calls tonight

I'll be another 10-15 mins, got home later than expected... If anyone'll still be playing, I'll jump in for 40 or so mins.
-
I will be. Finishing work at 9 so I should be good to go around 9.30.

Salmon Run is so awesome. Think we only didn't finish twice, right? Absolutely killed it. And that time we got 28 eggs on the first wave, lovely stuff. I'm up to 180% pay bonus now and got over 800 points from that hour alone, cheers!

Slowly struggling to resist picking one of these up... I love the 3D feature but I can imagine VC games look smashing on that screen.
-
This is so true, I was awful with rollers and snipers in the first one, but I've persevered in this game and I'm pretty handy with both now. Snipers are the bomb in ranked mode.

No worries, I tried to reconnect but the room kept showing as full so I went over to ranked mode. No words can sum up how much I despise the blaster waepon. What an absolute piece of junk. Good games while it lasted, though. Finally got my superbonus! 4,000 coins. Yay.....
