  1. Whooo! I beat the game yesterday... finally! Took me an hour to train to beat Mr. Sandman but I finally did it with a 1st round TKO. However... Now I can't beat Glass Joe on title defense :(

This game is brilliant! I never expected to get this much fun out of it coupled with the massive sense of achievement you get when you defeat another guy. Just goes to prove that there is still so much worth and value in retro games and they don't always have to be nostalgic.

  2. They don't even know if they're going to use motion+ yet. They've probably just floated some ideas and done some artwork. Won't be out till at the earliest spring 2011.

And personally i'd prefer a 'celda' instead of trying to appeal the 'mature gamers' crowd. A dark link with blood and 'steampunk' is the wetdream of a pathetic fanboy who wants link to be cool and badass so he isn't embarrassed to use it in his ridiculous arguments with his schoolboy friends over which console is better. Hell make Link a raging faggot who fires rainbows out his arse for all I care. Nintendo try and make the Zelda we ask for and you get the good but bland and uninspired Twilight Princess. Let Nintendo and Miyamoto run wild and do what they want and you get a classic game like WW, which for all its faults was a breath of fresh air when it was released.

I'd also actually prefer another Cel-Shaded adventure to an "adult" one. The style and charatcer of Wind Waker was incredible and even today it stands out as one of the most beautiful games ever made.

While I mentioned earlier that I'd like a steampunk take on Zelda, that is just a dream and I know it probably wouldn't be much of a success. I think the cel-shaded style adds so much to the feel and expression of the game. I would definatly like Nintendo to continue this design as it seems to suit the capabilities of the Wii so much better.

  3. Trust me, don't worry. F1 was amazing before they introduced refuelling. The races become about tyre management and tyre-tactics. Push too hard and you'll ruin a set, yet it is possible to drive consistantly well on one set for an entire race. Ayrton Senna pitted 7 times in one race (I forget which) too keep on fresh tyres and STILL won. There will be much more overtaking in my opinion, especially if they keep the 2 different tyre compounds per race rule. The heavy cars absoultly batter the tyres early on meaning anyone can stay out all race, thus jumping everyone who pits and have a horrific car to drive to the finish for the last few laps. It will demonstrate more creative tactics and promote high-quality defensive/offensive driving. Plus drivers know they can't win a race on fuel strategy so they have to go for it. I can't wait until next year.

  4. Thank you Edjamakated! That made fascinating reading. I agree completely with all of your sentiments that the new Zelda needs to shed it's structure of old, maybe even go back to the NES Zelda style of dumping you in a vast world with no set goals.

I feel that the main thing Nintendo need to do is bring Hyrule to life, similar to Animal Crossing, each NPC has its own life to follow and shares it's stories with you based on how hit has acted, couple this with the emotion and depth of the interaction see in Majora's Mask and Nintendo are on to a winner. I feel it's important to capitalise on the Immersion this time. Hopefully the game will use WM+ which will add to the physical immersion felt by the player but Nintendo can do alot to evoke mental immersion by creating a gaming world that is fresh, unique and original. Nintendo have done a good job this generation in bringing the game into the room. Wii sports was only the beginning and now Nintendo need to push these basic ideas and formulas forward and enhance the gamers connection with the software.

I for one am looking forward to E3, mainly because of the Zelda possibilities. I'm a massive fan of the all the home console installments and while OOT, MM and Wind Waker felt fresh, it is true that there was something stagnant about Twilight Princess, a great Zelda game, but little to stray from the formula. That's what made the others so great, even Wind Waker offered something so new and refreshing and is by far the most beautiful game of all time. The ball is in your court Nintendo, please deliver like no other developer can. /Fanboy mode

  5. Isn't that 6 teams who've lodged an entry then..? I thought a team named Litespeed had applied, as mentioned on the BBC website http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/8072740.stm. So that should mean the new entries are...

    Campos Meta F1

    LiteSpeed GP

    Lola

    Prodrive

    Superfund

    US F1

Campos Meta F1 and US F1 will all have to change their names as "F1" is not allowed in the team name since an annoying old hobbit owns the rights to the F1 brand. Should be interesting on deadline day though (12 June) to see which teams have been accepted and whether the other 9 teams will withdraw. I have a feeling that some teams (most likely Toyota, Ferrari and Red Bull/Toro Roso) may pull out because they all want no budget cap and it looks like the FIA are pretty set on £100m, which is more than enough in my opinion. About time we got back to technical innovation instead of spending power, hence why I support the £40m one proposed.

So while this season has fallen a bit flat with the dominance of Brawn, next season: With new teams, 26 cars and NO Refuelling :) should hopefully be amazing - Unless they announce 3 new Middle East / Asia races on the calendar.

  6. I'm having the same problem.

It loads to a random point, then thinks its done.

The MP4 version doesn't have the last segment yet.

The show is finally back up on iTunes, but I get an error when I try and download it.

    I'm having problems too :/

    Warning:

Too many fanboys may cause server overload... Please try again on Monday at 10.30am (PT).

  7. Got my copy today too,its great! Just made it to the last guy on the World circuit, he seems impossible to beat right now lol

Funny, I can't even beat Don Flamenco... :(

LOVE this game though, it's so addictive and has been a great introduction for me to the Punch Out series. I'm using the Wii 'mote on its side as the NES gods intended.

  8. I'm personally reluctant to write off any prospective competitor entering F1 from elsewhere, as any success or lack there of in other series seems to have a tendency to mislead. Buemi has only ever been a runner up elsewhere and yet he's already shown himself to be a precocious talent in F1. His teammate Bourdais meanwhile, despite 4 consecutive Champ Car championship wins continues to struggle desperately by comparison.

Yeah I agree completely, Buemi has been frankly amazing this season both for his age, and expericence. Bourdais has been a massive disapointment, despite being a nice guy he's been truly out mastered by Buemi and Vettel last season.

I would give most at least a chance, for instance Piquet was quick in GP2 but he's proved himself to be more than useless this season. Just because someone is quick or slow in another series doesn't mean it will directly translate into F1.

  9. Prodrive lodges F1 entry for 2010

    http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/75671

    Lola confirms 2010 F1 entry

    http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/75676

So that's Prodrive, Lola, Campos Meta F1 and US F1...

Isn't there only 3 additional places in 2010? If so, anyone know how it'll be decided?

I have no idea how it's decided but my guess would be (and this is merely a guess).

Lola and Prodrive will be accepted on the basis that both teams have had a significant degree of association with / participation in the sport in the past (Lola as a team and Dave Richards who is now the head of Prodrive, ex-principal of BAR racing).

I am also confident that USF1 will be accepted because of how far along the team is and the fact that they have a well run outfit which has been in operation for well over a year. The car is development is very far along suggesting that they are the most serious of all the new bidders.

The market is Spain is centred solely around Fernanodo Alonso and if he vacates the sport as rumours suggest, Campos Meta may find it difficult to get funding, also if he stays he is providing unprecedented competetion for Spanish business which will work against Campos Meta F1.

What's more is I think they'll re-introduce the Qualifying cut off rule from the mid-90's so that all 26 cars won't be on the track during the race, maybe.

  10. I think it was the only one so far thank god. Dosent mean there any less tragic that they affected fewer people. It just means that because of what happened then the world will not allow something on that scale to happen again. And to stop this they use armys. Do you see how it all links together?

If every nation put all their armed forces funding towards reducing world debt and paying towards running water, education and health care for poorer nations then maybe, just maybe no-one would need an army.

Instead they'd rather steal thier oil, pay off thier rulers to turn a blind eye and use their workforce to cheaply produce commodities that the robots of the developed nations can spend their hard-earned dollors on. World keeps on spinning... Ever wondered why the Middle East is so hostile towards the West anyway?

Oh, I see. I jumped to conclusions there.

The BNP is actually pretty damn mild compared to some other Neo-Nazi groups. These openly white-supremacist parties (or groups, or pub gatherings, call it what you will) have criticised the BNP for being too mild and soft, although have far too few members and illegal opinions to ever be considered a threat. They've even said the BNPs moderation means the party is made up of 'conservatives on steroids'.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_and_Honour

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/November_9th_Society

British People's Party tried to stage a demonstration in Leeds last year. It failed. Epically. That was a good day :)

Blood and Honour are sick fuckers, a few memebers all went to a gig, also in Leeds last year. They were kicked out pretty quickly because the band refused to play for them, there's no place for people like that in this world. It makes me sad that people can still hold those views in this day and age.

  11. Oh yes, I love the way you say that as if being white would automatically qualify you for a British identity!

No, no, no. I agree with you mate. I'm just pointing out that people of the BNP's beliefs regard me as British because I was born here and, importantly to them, because I'm white. Merely pointing out that because I'm white and from Britian, I'm considered British.

As far as I'm aware I am mixture of Nordic and Celtic but I would never consider myself British. If Abdullah the butcher, Brutus the Barber or Doink the Clown wants to call himself British no matter where he's from, what colour his skin is and where he lives, it's all gravy with me baby. I think it's more of a culture thing than and inherited pot luck of birth anyway.

I think you have been smoking crack. Im sure there have been plenty of great tradgedy since 1945. I could maybe compile a list if you want. Granted they are not on the same scale but still great tradgedys.

Not crack, just the grass. I can list probably 1000 huge tradgedies since 1945. You are right they are not on the same scale I was just pointing out that Nazi Germany was the last tradgedy on such a massive scale which affected the entire world (you know "World war 2")... 6 million people... Lotta people.

  12. Try telling that to god knows how many Jews in Europe around the middle of the last century.

Times have changed since 1940. Air travel for instance, is a much greater posibility.

Seriously though, I would like to believe that if I was Jewish in Nazi Germany I would have had enough balls to stand up against the government, even if it led to my inevitable death. Any one person can make a massive difference especially when they do what's right, for the greater good or when the odds are against them.

It was a horrific time and shows just how much damage racism can cause. I'd like to believe that this is the last great tradgedy of world history. Only by changing how people act towards and percive others will anything change and I think that challenege is far too great for 6 billion people. But...

"it has to start somewhere, It has to start somehow, what better place than here, what better time than now." :D

  13. Well go and spend a month in a country where you have no rights. Please do this please. I think this is the most stupid comment i have ever heard. Your rights do not exist in a world without an army to defend them. As there would be other armys there who would willingly take them away from you.

In an ideal world there would be no armys. but this isnt an ideal word so yes the army does defend your rights.

I have and will continue to travel to many countries around the world. Never will any country restrict me. If I lived in North Korea or the Middle East under an oppresive regime, I would be free or die trying, but never violently.

Every person is in control of their own life and destiny, no government can control you if you fight hard enough. I'm just 'lucky' to have been born on a piece of turf called England, doesn't mean I have to like it here or agree with the majority of apathetic idiots who share the land here and take what the shambles of a government throws at them lying down.

  14. It shoudnt make me hate a group of people but i think its very hard not to.

It's VERY fucking easy not to. All you need to do is have enough intelligence to not group people together by skin coulour, race or religion. Judge people on their individual merit. Just because someone is an Asian or a Muslim doesn't mean they secretly want to kill you.

That is one of the most ignorant things I've ever read on here. And the stuff you were saying about the Asian lad in your unit was pretty offensive too. "Ooh look he's not white, he can't be like us, but he's fighting on our side so he's not like them." To be honest mate, it's pretty apparent you're quite racist, something I would expect from most members of the British Army.

On an unrelated note, is it any surprise that the people with the lowest IQ (based on a survey of 6000) vote for the BNP??

If the results of general elections are anything to go by, voting Green or Liberal Democrat must be a thankless task. But now the supporters of these parties can console themselves with the knowledge that, although they may not elect a prime minister, there's a good chance that they are cleverer than the people who do.

Academic research published in the journal Intelligence compares the way people voted in the 2001 election with their IQ at the age of 10 (using data from the 1970 British cohort study). The results are fascinating.

On a party-by-party basis, the average (childhood) IQ scores for 2001 voters were:

    Green - 108.3

    Liberal Democrat - 108.2

    Conservative - 103.7

    Labour – 103

    Plaid Cymru - 102.5

    Scottish National - 102.2

    UK Independence - 101.1

    British National - 98.4

Did not vote/None of the above - 99.7

  15. if you really belive that, you really are ignorant and self ritious. im not asking you to fight, but at least show a little respect to men who put their lives on the line for you.

    It's a joke. On Family Guy. Of course I don't believe that...:hmm:

But, I don't believe people in the army are defending MY rights - seeing as how I don't consider myself belonging to any nation. I was born on a island called England. That's as far as it goes. I'm not British despite being white and having been born here to English and Scottish parents. All the army (of any country) does is piss me off and I do question the ideals of the majority of people who join it.

  16. well, research would surgest this isnt normaly the case.

i dont think its discrimination to not alow racists to be policmen, like i dont belive its discrimination to not alow the handicapped into the army, or the blind to drive. its simply common sense. having a police officer with pre existing belifes about different racial groups will prevent them from being an impartial mediator. simply put, you cant expect people who are naturaly hostile towards a racial group to suddenly lose there hostility because they put on their work clothes.

This is what I'm trying to say. Thanks.

  17. A copper is a Police Officer, and i believe the other is a Terorist?

No, no, no, you cant deny someone a job because of their belief. Only if it effects your behavior. Some people are racist, but would never act upon it. Why should people like this be discriminated against.

When it comes to serving the community and upholding the law, anyone who is racist should not be able to hold this position of power. They will sub-conceisly act upon their racist beliefs in ways mentioned above which would be just plain wrong.

  18. Can't comment on Jerez or Mexico as I've never seen a race on those citcuits, but I completely agree on the rest.

Mind you, I can't help but feel sometimes is Indianapolis really the best circuit that the US can offer? Sure the banked section is a great unique feature to still have, but the infield section is so boring in comparison!

Actually, I do quite like Fuji... for the inevitable wet race and awesome 1mile straight, and would probably substitute China.

Would you not have Singapore for it's uniqueness though? I'd happily reserve judgement for a second year [think they are gonna make a few changes], unlike Valencia!

And also, what with the likes of Monaco, Spain, Valencia and Hungary on todays calander, thankfully we don't still have Imola!

The Long Beach circuit in the US was pretty goood waaay back in the days of Grand Prix East and Grand Prix West. As well as that, in the States there is Road America and the famous Laguna Seca. Plenty of options for decent circuits but I personally love Indy so I'd vote to keep that.

Kyalami in South Africa is an old track that always used to be a great race. Plus their isn't a race in Africa at the moment.

This would be my 'dream calendar' I suppose.

    1. Australia - Melbourne

    2. Malaysia - Kuala Lumpar

    3. South Africa - Kyalami

    4. Spain - Jerez

    5. Monaco - Monte Carlo

    6. Turkey - Istanbul

    7. Canada - Montreal

    8. USA East - Indianapolis

    9. Britain - Silverstone

    10. Germany - Hockenheim (old circuit :()

    11. Austria - A1 Ring

    12. Portugal - Algarve (really good new circuit used in A1GP)

    13. Belgium - Spa

    14. Italy - Monza

    15. European - Nurburgring

    16. Singapore - Marina Bay

    17. USA West - Long Beach

    18. China - Shanghai

    19. Japan - Suzuka

If 19 is too many and I have to cut one it would be Singapore. :)
