Ha ha, people are always petrified of missing the heart container that they daren't go near the blue portal before picking it up. I guess you'll have to either reach the boss room again, or go back to the first day and walk in the temple for a free warp to the boss (where you have to kill it again). I remember back in the day on the N64 when I used my Xploder cheat cartridge, which I bought for Banjo Kazooie (fly anywhere, allowing to fly up and get the ice key, as well as get other eggs and whatnot). I made it so I could use any item anywhere, including the Fierce Deity mask (which makes you huge by the way, and unable to go through doors), and the giant's mask (which hangs leaving link's head cocked backwards and a beam of blue light shining out - epic shoop da woop homage). I particularly liked the levitate ability as it let you go anywhere, so I could see slightly hidden areas or distant background pieces that they never expected you to reach. I liked doing silly things like that. :p

Yeah, so did I. And I hate it when people say that - "You need to be told when to laugh". Bollocks. I didn't laugh at the majority of things that laughter accompanied in Red Dwarf episodes, but I found those parts funny. It's not to do with needing to be told when to laugh, but rather that it feels as if what was there is now missing. It's also hugely important to the feel of the show, and removing it makes it feel very, very different. And when we're all expecting Red Dwarf, and not some other show, big changes aren't a good thing. Anyway, I felt the episode was quite slow paced. Normally they'd be firing off jokes and saying a lot more in the same space of time, and there'd be loads more sarcy comments. It wasn't really that funny, and let's not forget; it's supposed to be a comedy.

Actually it's RARE's fault on two occasions. Firstly, they put in the secrets originally with no public-known use or acquisition method for quite some time, adding to their elusiveness and making them one of the best secrets in a video game of all time. Their second fault is using these secrets in a menial way recently when they know full well that they could never really deliver anything like what the fans expect from the hype that they generated. IMO, if they kept them as miscellaneous items that would have maintained the enigma. By giving them a use it takes away the feeling of them being a 'past legend' and their mystery. I loved BK, and that was something extra that made it special. Plus Nuts and Bolts, to me, felt as if had stripped previous BK games of their goodness to make a game that apart from the characters, had very little in common with previous BK titles.

Well, if you clear this one in a few games I'll know you're using a guide. :p I did 100% on this game, not too long ago in fact. I completed it way back when I got it but I had relatively few of the jiggies and I could barely remember a lot of the game when I came to it this time. I will say; it's very tedious. All the backtracking and switching back and forth between various characters and transformations makes the game far less enjoyable. The level design is much worse, and particularly the music too.

HAHAHAH, single best pimp-smack reply I have ever seen. It works on so many levels; the best being that he's spent a ridiculous fortune. XD

I downloaded the egg gamerpics since they are some of the best secrets in any game. The Tooie trailer didn't really show much...it showed them unlocking the move Breagull Blast, which could be unlocked in the original Tooie anyway...

Wii Play? No, we don't. Oops scratch that, yes we do!

It's called a forum, where you discuss your own views and experiences. People are summarising the enjoyment (or lack of) they get from their consoles for various reasons, not whether they are happy that a company is failing or another one is succeeding. Once again; unprovoked company allegiance = questionable intelligence. They would all happily sacrifice your mother if they thought it would win them the console war. Regarding that overall usage graph, I was quite sure that the Wii usage numbers would still be high. I thought the purpose of this topic was to create a forum census rather than compare public results, since it's pretty obvious people are still playing (and buying) the Wii. -

Please don't post fanboy tripe. Why would you 'prefer' the sales of a company, when it does not affect you in the slightest? Allegiances to companies are about as silly as you can get. -
I'm intrigued as to why you think digital downloads are the way forward. Why is it great to have a single company dictating the price of a game through their digital download service? Let's face it, if digital became the standard, the console companies themselves would be selling game titles via their console-specific stores, meaning no middle man. And with the middle man gone, there goes the competition. I can't stress this enough, but life is all about yourself, and your family. You can't stop to think about fueling the publishers when we are ourselves suffering the economic crisis. If games are being sold at half price within a couple of weeks, ask yourself; why is this? Because, as you may have realised, the middle men are competing with one another. The publisher has already sold the games to the retailer, so they are not suffering a loss. As someone has quite rightly pointed out, preowned games are what damage the games industry. But again, I say, so what? It's incredibly selfish, but I value my own well-being above that of people who are for all intents and purposes, strangers to me. I may enjoy their products, but I also enjoy the products at my local supermarket. In both cases, I would always wish to obtain the same quality goods for the cheapest price possible. And let me tell you; someone who says that they would happily pay more for games rather than less, who is not well off, is outright lying. When UK companies make games consoles, and when said console manufactures are on the brink of extinction through production line closure, you could bring that point up. But not as it is.

I own all 3 consoles and I can say for fact that I don't play my Wii as much as the others. I did play MK Wii a lot on its release, but most of the other games were completed and rarely replayed. With Brawl, I felt as if I was playing the same game as Melee (which I had played to death, meaning the concept was tired for me). In contrast, Melee felt like a vast improvement over the original SSB, mostly due to the improved frame rate, presentation and overall game mechanics, as well as the character roster. That, and I was younger. All games are more fun when you played them when younger. At the top would be the PS3, which I think is brilliant. It's really gone up in my books after I've acquired the PS3 Media Server, and I've amassed quite a few games that I really like on it. The 360 would be second, and admittedly I haven't played it in a while. There's some good exclusives on it, but a lot of shooters on the console I just can't seem to adopt. For instance, I don't see what all the fuss is about in regards to Gears. I don't feel as if I am really enjoying myself all that much while playing the first game. Why does the Wii gather dust? It's basically just a games console with little else to it unlike the other 'multimedia centres' out there. But then again, I can completely understand if this doesn't apply to people, as not everyone wants to play their HD video files or may not even own a HDTV. As well as that, apart from MK Wii, which I think is fantastic, many of the Wii games lack good online modes, which undoubtedly add the bulk of replay hours to most popular games out there. At the end of the day, though, it's a choice thing. -
Holy crap, they're playing music from Home Alone! How awesome.

I agree...several people seem to have missed the point that it's not as simple as a dumping; they had sacrificed a lot to make it work, including moving far away and even taking out a mortgage. I can only think that if Letty had known she hadn't loved you for a while, letting you take out/continue with a mortgage is pretty ridiculous. It sounds as if she liberally cut her ties to the entire lifestyle, leaving you very much stuck there. The best thing to do is to forget about her. If indeed what I just posted is true then she probably isn't worth caring about. I know she's a forum member here, but observing the circumstances I don't see how I could come to a different conclusion. Time is an excellent healer; as the days go by you will gradually forget about her. Attempt to get friends round to play games with you, as I always find this takes my mind off anything else. Good luck with it.

Wtf? An order from gameplay came with GAME preowned stickers? That's retarded - you should definitely take pictures and try and get more than the game back from them (e.g. vouchers). Say you'll never use them again.

That cake is the single greatest thing to happen to the confectionary world... I've pretty much given up on waiting for the US version of MM so no doubt I'll be tucking into the real MM soon. Birthday was good! Had some insanely long games of squash and then gone for a meal later in the day. Now I'm up for a 6AM shift...kinda sucks, but ah well. Toodles. -
Happy Birthday! Seems a lot of birthdays are around this time.

What? Is this a quote or a joke? If it's not then do one! We as poor consumers have every right to buy games cheaply, because games are overpriced to begin with. Why on Earth should we pay the traditional £40 for some games that might not last us more than a day? If the money we were giving for games wasn't enough, there wouldn't be any more games being made. What you have suggested is nonsense. Insisting people pay more for any product that they can get for cheaper is just mesmerisingly silly, no matter what you're talking about. Would you pay an extra few thousand pounds on top of the price of a new car to support the car industry? No! Also, the games wouldn't be reduced if it wasn't commercially viable. And let's face it - at the end of the day they're just games. If they all just disappeared, we'd live. And if people who couldn't live without games died, I'd say that's natural selection at its finest.

Just clearing that one up. Thanks guys. -
This talk reminds me how much I love this game. Anyone I know who has done all there is to do in MM agrees with me that it trumps OoT by a long shot. There's such a level of immersion with this game; you even get the feeling that NPCs have developed personalities, what with their daily schedules and audio skits that play when you initiate a conversation with them. Having all the masks to get as well as the heart pieces, bottles and sword upgrade added buckets to the longevity of the game that again wasn't there with OoT. I think that MM took the best bits from OoT and added so much more, producing one of the finest games of all time.

Ah, still that's quite impressive to manage to do the whole of that dungeon in regular time (if you remembered how to do it after clearing it). I've done it a couple of times but it's still a bit of a long one and there's always the odd bit that stumps me.

Well I thought the third and fourth dungeon were harder to get the faeries for since the third involved switching water channels and whatnot (water dungeons...) and had a hard to locate faerie somewhere (it was above the ceiling of something, IIRC) and the fourth dungeon had the switching upside down and back to get them all, making it a notch harder than the others. Only just remembering you can use slow time but done the water dungeon? You using a guide or something? :p
