Actually the version that was put up was real, but it was taken down a while ago (owner didn't have permission). Still, I found the apk for that and that's what I'm using. I tried installing it the normal way previously using that same link you posted but I kept having an issue where the game would freeze.

So I found out there's theme hospital available on android now. Tried it, plays like a dream.

Yeah I'd rather get this on my UK account for the purpose of playing it on Vita. I thought I heard somewhere that our store gets updated on Thursdays though?

Achievements/Trophies: Where do you draw the line?
Sheikah replied to jayseven's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I don't see ultimately how that makes any difference to the activity of doing everything - on paper there is still no point to it. We do it for enjoyment. In modern games, you get a platinum trophy. In Pokemon, you got a man showing you a certificate (damn you, Japan). I'm fairly sure trophies and the like have very little influence on the decision of game developers. I'd even go so far to say that trophy details are probably finalised after the game itself. I seriously doubt at the beginning game devs sit around a table coming up only with ideas that could be trophy related. Plus even if that were somehow true, doing just about anything you can imagine doing in a game could award a trophy. Hell, I could award a trophy in RPG Maker. I could set it so that if you found a secret passageway (stepped on tile XYZ) you would trigger a trophy message. Such an easy thing to do, it'd hardly detract from game developers' time in the slightest. -
Oh right. I thought you knew who I targeted and that was it, would be a mega power if you both tracked and ability detected me at once.
-
Yeah I know, hence why you were asking me about what my ability did. :p My game of thrones Mafia is taking a long long time to do, the video making takes an age. For now I can't give a definite date, just know that I'm hard at work on it.

Achievements/Trophies: Where do you draw the line?

It's the same mindless gratification that you get from collecting 151 Pokémon; there's not much point to getting every single one since you likely won't use them all, it's because we're pretty compulsive creatures. Some people are massive completionists and get that content feeling from 'doing everything'. -
Yeah. In the end it was good we kept redirecting the protector since it meant he could never protect the killed player. To be fair we're probably splitting hairs on the Rummy thing, we kinda sussed he could stop people somehow and made sure to push him out of the way all the time. End result was good just not as good as if he had role blocked the target also. Also I wouldn't have expected the town protector to not be able to protect himself (Jimbob didn't need it as much being Maf), in my mind I always expect town protectors to be these selfish leeches for the first few days who are impervious to attack, lol.

And I gave birth to you. Passing a cube is unpleasant.

They have a phobia of keeping to three letter abbreviations. Poor MSN messenger...

So did Rummy not also block the target as well as protecting them? It seemed like whoever we sent him to got roleblocked. If he was a jail keeper then we were essentially right, at least it made no difference to us if he protected as well (we had no intention of killing a person we thought we were role blocking). I got confused between DuD and mr-paul because DuD said he knew what I did last night. Somehow along with the writeup I forgot that I picked mr-paul the night before, but realised my mistake before long. :p I identified that my target liking flavours though as someone liking different channels and tracking people in the writeup. Although when DuD basically confessed to being a tracker I then thought DuD was the guy with the TV role.
-
On odd nights, Jimbob could roleblock a player. If he killed a player they were also roleblocked in the process. Even nights he could protect another player (not himself). Or, if he made the kill, he himself would protected in the process.

Good luck with that.

A question for you Jonnas, have you ever watched Blackadder? Because your PMs to me were brilliant, almost like the man himself were speaking. :p To my sidekick, all I have to say is: "Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?" Loved the idea of sending in your own character. And this has undoubtedly been "the greatest victory since the Winchester flower-arranging team beat Harrow by twelve sore bottoms to one!"

I thought it did a great job at changing things that need to be changed tbh. Its major change was integrating everything as one world which was pretty massive. As with game series like DQ, there is already so much right with the game that changing too much probably means pissing off the fans.

Thanks for the game guys. I will say, I made no/little attempt to look town from the point at which I voted Jayseven, as at that point I knew we could win it by ourselves. That includes saying gmac was scum (although it was convincing enough for someone else to join in).

I'm also a human ranger. Shame the server was full, could you not make a character on it? It's good to pick a good server for PvP bonuses. You could still world transfer if you wanted. Great isn't it? Such a blast unlike most awfully dull MMORPGs. The norn lands (read:nord) look and feel like Skyrim, the whole game is so atmospheric. More people should get this game.

Majority is reached from what I can tell, with 6 votes total (only 5 should be needed for majority).

I targeted gmac last night on account of his inactivity, as a recap my role is that I learn a random piece of information about my target. My PM back said that his alginment is scum. I've had no reason to doubt my power so far and it has been accurate in accordance with the information others have given. For that reason vote: gmac.

I changed. It's like a few pence more for the Wizard's edition from Amazon than ShopTo and you get additional stuff.

I don't know much about it, just that the general consensus seems to be that it's not very good and might be best to skip (like Vista). Win 7 is so solid, it's like the XP of its time.

Achievements/Trophies: Where do you draw the line?
Sheikah replied to jayseven's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Well they sell PC games with serials, and once the serial is used the game disc is useless preowned. I'm pretty sure if they ever wanted to implement this loyalty-achievement system they would at least have a single-use code to register your game to make the achievements count for something. -

I imagine one day, in the distant future, it'll be mostly digital download or serials to unlock important content. The loyalty thing based on achievements could only really work if you weren't sharing games with people (same concept as playing preowned). -

I'm quite liking Guild Wars 2 achievements so far. You have both monthly and daily lists of things you can do as well as for exploring whole maps and finishing the quests on it. Meeting the conditions gives you a treasure chest that has pretty cool stuff in it as well as exp. Nice to see some sort of trophy for your work that actually does something. In future since we're heading to the digital age we might expect all/most games to be bought new so having a lot of achievements (ie. a lot of games) could result in a real life loyalty system like Nintendo stars. That'd be cool. Basically since we might not have the option of preowned games, having a lot of achievements would be both a sign of having bought a lot of games (as well as having done most of the stuff in the games). -
Achievements/Trophies: Where do you draw the line?
Sheikah replied to jayseven's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Trophies can be well done, spanning all the content of the game (e.g. Oblivion, Demon's Souls). Then you have some trophies that you would literally never otherwise have gone out of your way to perform whatever the required action was, in a bad way. Like making 1,000 kills with a specific weapon, one that you don't really like and would never normally use. Number crunching trophies are really uninspired and exist just due to developer laziness. Then there's also them terrible trophies that require you to play through a game multiple times (e.g. Dragon Age, get to max level IIRC with each of the three jobs. You pick a job at the beginning of a new game and it stays with you). There were also some other annoying things about that game, like getting different trophies depending on how you concluded a quest, meaning if you really wanted a platinum you had to reload or play the game multiple times, making sure to choose different options the next time.
