You know, I heard the exact same language used by several people to describe Elite Dangerous (specifically 'a mile wide and an inch deep'). I think this game having an actual objective and planetary landings available from the start with proper stuff to do on them is a massive boon though.
-
It definitely does. Crisis core isn't even available to download on Vita.
-
I wouldn't take much from this - DQX was also on Wii and Wii U, and neither required/had any sort of sophisticated online setup.

64 is also pre-retirement age. So it's basically going to be less than 50% smartphone ownership for 65+ (probably much less as this also includes the very old). And lower still for those who actually play F2P games on them, lol. This whole point has been overblown anyway, which was this - films have a far bigger reach, more people watch films, etc.
-
So you don't think my comment about the general elderly population can be true because your sample of 2 does not conform with said comment? Just to confirm, are you saying that you believe that most people over 65 own smartphones, and that they play F2P games on them? I genuinely want to know if you think mobile gaming has as widespread appeal as movies, and ultimately the elderly population alone can highlight the disparity. And here was my response to this which I gave last time - conveniently you have again forgotten that you first mentioned this would affect hardware and not software, which is what you now keep saying.
-
I'm incredibly surprised you thought it was the other way. Nearly 20% of the UK population are at retirement age or over; that's 11.8 million people, of which I think we can all agree the overwhelming majority are not playing F2P mobile games, let alone even own a smartphone. People also use their TVs to watch films, or DVDs, as well as going to the cinema. Smartphone games make a lot of money but often the people who pay in them will pay over and over again (a lot of people will just never pay). It can make them seem bigger than they are.
-
Observations and just generally life experience? How many old people do you see playing mobile games? Yet films have been about longer than said old people, and those old people still / have no doubt watched many films. Smartphones are big but still a piece of the population, then people who play those sorts of F2P mobile games are a piece of a piece. Not going to have anywhere near the same uptake as films.
-
There are still loads of people that don't play free to play/mobile games. But I'd say the vast majority of people, if not nearly everyone, watches a film from time to time.

So Niantic have confirmed that Pokemon are now more difficult to catch, and that this is a bug. Good to hear at least - and definitive proof that what we have been witnessing is an actual thing.

@Glen\-i In answer to your question some weeks ago. This is Lad Bible.

Nooiice. And that makes 6.

I don't think it will be that close to the power of PS4. It's got to be mobile compatible. Certainly not enough for easy PS4 game porting. Like Ashley said, most of the issues present with the Wii U are here too. The main thing it has going for it is that it brings handheld and console buyers to one device. Oh God. Please stop Nintendo.

I am certainly down for that blind raid signup @Daft. Memory of Felwinter and Memory of Gheleon sound pretty cool.
-
A mouse mat. I remember them.

There's the danger they could system ban as well though (pretty sure they did that on PS3). Extreme measures but still possible. Only way to be sure would be to have a completely offline Vita. Could be worth buying a cheap preowned one for that purpose if the price/emulation was right.
-
Yeah I meant more that I would have to connect to the internet on it periodically for those Plus digital titles, at which point they could detect an altered Vita. I remember them hard banning PS3 custom firmware users just for having the firmware, regardless of whether they ran pirated games or not.
-
I contemplated it, but then the thought of them possibly banning my PSN account (for digital titles etc) put me off.
-
I'll be there. I have that Friday off.
-
Nah way, that's essentially a square piece of plastic for a controller in console mode. Looks unergonomic as fuck.
-
Meh, the last NSMB bored me senseless. Who cares if the game is polished if it's just rather dull?
-
Played the toybox to completion yesterday, it's a lot of fun. It really does feel like they've distilled the BK formula and applied it here. I did play with a keyboard though, which I wouldn't recommend; that said, the platforming feels tight. Nice to see the NPC humour is there still as well, that's pretty much crucial to a BK-style game.

Seems a bit more ridiculous when you consider that the notification watch accessory thing will let you catch Pokemon you have caught before with 100% success.
-
That is a shame, I remember him posting about meeting Charles Martinet. RIP dude.

The effective result of the double image is a 400*240 3D image. If you looked at a 3DS screenshot and a native 800*240 image side by side you would notice that the 3DS image is half the resolution. Turning 3D off demonstrates this even further as then the image is pure 400*240. Kinda mad that they went with 3D over having a higher resolution game.
-
3DS is not 800*240, it is 400*240. The 800 is misleading - this the result of a double image just used to generate the 3D effect. Actual resolution is 400*240, much too low IMO.
