  1. They do. A friend of mine did it for a bit(like a couple of days) with a bunch of his friends, only he kind of got sacked for not taking enough donations/names/whatevers and all his other friends went of all around the country doing it and he seemed offended it was like that, though it felt a little like he was annoyed because they didn't keep him.
  2. I received a phone call from the NSPCC once, which after a very longwinded 'conversational' greeting by the lady(hello, how are you, nice weather etc) I came to understand was made by the lady on the other end of the phone in order to ask me to give them more money so that they could afford to pay more people to answer more phones at childline for needy children etc because at the time they could not operate the phones 24 hours a day or something but if I gave them more money then they could. This phone conversation lasted about 20 minutes of me protesting that at the time I really rather couldn't(I had no income for a while, and nor did I want to given the way I was approached), it was not until a few days later I realised...she was on the phone asking(unsuccessfully) me to give more money per month, so that more people could be on phones to help those in need. I nearly stopped giving them any money that day.
  3. Tell them you're not 18 yet(or maybe it's 21 now as nightwolf said?) but up until 20 I always used to just tell them I was under 18, even though I looked well older than my actual age anyway. They usually look quite puzzled, but know they can't take the risk anyway. First and foremost, avoid eye-contact, and make a wide berth, if you see them heading towards you, veer away(ie coming from your right go more left). Be rude. Tell them you don't care. Tell them you're busy. Tell them you already give to their charity(which I did after an NSPCC one started a massive speech and wouldn't let me say a word, as I already DID give to them, and more than they were asking). You owe these people nothing, don't be polite. Tell them you're busy, tell them you're on your way to work! Tbh, these are all actual things that tend to happen to me, it's rare I end up lying to them these days, but I'm just pr0 at ninja'ing past them now. Line your pace up so that someone else'll be in their beeline for you, these creatures are weak and eager, they'll jump someone else if they're along the way.
  4. I'd like to apologise now Spune, I fear we will destroy you and give you a complex through this thread. It's like you're already working for nintendo! Now...MOAR POKEMANZ! *cracks whip*
  5. Metroid Prime 2:Echoes - I did similar to Jimbob, played a bit got annoyed thought it sucked. They tried to pack it out a bit too much with dark world trekking and language translator thingies, not as fun as getting an actual new item to use it lots of places and to open doors with etc Sonics - I had Sonic Mega Collecton on my original Xbox, just didn't get on with them like I thought I would, unfortunately. As for the lack of mario love, I personally love them(SML, SMW and SM64). I think SM64 was a much better crafted environment, with a tad more freedom and exploration. SML and SMW maybe I just love due to nostalgia. The later Marios I had gripes with for their linear hand holdy nature. I do often wonder, and maybe it's a thread worth creating at some point, if nostalgia goggles really really do exist, and tarnish our objectiveness of games? I know I certainly still love and find the games I played as a kid very enjoyable and excellent.
  6. Yay ReZ merry sexy birthday to you.
  7. How am I 'definitely lying'?! Again, you've not answered any of my questions! WHY did you say I was in Dohnut's house when I wasn't? If you know so much, then can you tell me where I actually was? I find this ridiculous, one person mentions that I apparently wrote in a black book a few nights ago, and suddenly I'm definitely guilty. That's all you have? That's all you're all going on? How would writing in it a few nights ago even lead to Tales's death last night? Seriously, I'm willing to defend myself, but I'm telling you it's just an outright lie, how do I defend myself against something I know nothing about! Give me more information Peeps, lets test your supposed information. Whereas Dohnut, now pulled up, supposedly happens to be inactive. I've got plenty of reason to be inactive with work and my bullshit car but I'm still making an effort. We saw Dohnut do the same in the Gentleman's mafia(when he was later revealed to be the mafia don), so now he isn't here to defend himself he's apparently allowed a chance. I am TRYING to defend myself but have no idea what Peeps is talking about, so I'm definitely lying and not him? Why does nobody want to test his information? Why are we blindly accepting what Peeps says and not listening to me? Also, I wanted to hold off voting Dohnut, but if it's him or me I'm going to have to Vote:Dohnut if it stops you guys making a silly mistake.
  8. Man, I keep coming across this every once in a while, and every time I realise I've forgotten just quite how awesome it is.
  9. This game I recently played on my PC and it is amazing. I may well be interested if they make a 3DS version, and I buy a 3DS, that is. Highly recommend everyone check out the original, free for pc/linux/mac and also available on wiiware!
  10. Totally second these sentiments, I played the demo and whilst I eventually got it and did most of the levels, thought the stress and effort and 'one more tries' put in was maybe just too much for me to buy a game that I'd likely give up on eventually. Seeing the game in action does make me want to play though...I kind of want to play it without buying it, but nobody I know was stupid enough to torture themselves with the purchase(except one guy, but i dont know where he lives).
  11. I'm late, happy day after your birthday!
  12. I was going to do one, then I realised I had a lot more favourite men to invite than I did favourite ladies who weren't comediennes. Now I shall think it through further to avoid similar pitfalls to what jay has mentioned.
  13. What! One guy says I've written in a black book and you all believe him?! I haven't been writing in any books! I can't defend myself because it just isn't even true! Tell me more about this book Peeps, tell me where you saw me writing in it, and what, or anything more you can tell me. I'm telling you 100% I have done no such thing. Also if you 'picked it up a couple of nights ago' why would you only decide to mention it now? I find it strange it only suddenly happens to appear as the heat starts on Dohnut. May I also draw everyone's attention to his already weak attempt to put suspicion on me(of which my following post wasn't just a comment, a question gone unanswered); Two posts later To readdress that, why did you think I was at Dohnut's house in the first place? How were you mistaken?
  14. Ah, I hadn't realised you were including existing ones(except I did cos you did earlier and attention was drawn to it), but that explains things. I know very little of the pokemanz outside of the original 1-151, so I say it ok! Look forward to more of your creations, and will when I find time actually check out your non-pokemon stuff(your comic looked rather long for the time i had when i looked).
  15. Why would you say such a thing?
  16. Man I loved this show when I was little. There was also another one with a terrible name, apparently a remake of a previous series from years ago, called The Tomorrow People. Does anyone remember it? Featured a young Naomi Harris, and Todd from Neighbours.
  17. This thread makes no sense. But it amazes me still.
  18. I drink. Not recommended, but it does kind of work.
  19. What was it? Cars are le suck. Did you own it long?
  20. Cos I might need to get a new gearbox, and got curious about how they all work etc anyway.
  21. I guess, but I still don't think there's any good reason to be stealing, so I'm keeping that vote for now. Ell, what can you tell me about yourself?
  22. Ahhh, driving! Personally, I recommend getting the learning/driving/license out of the way as soon as possible. I learnt, then took test(and passed) in dec 2007. I did not buy a car until dec 2010, and hadn't driven a day since passing my test!! Of course, I was very nervous etc, and people kept saying it all comes back, but it did not...at first. However I have a few good friends who pushed me to go out and now I fuckin' love drivin! I love speeding too, I'm a bit bad really. After going out a few times, taking the jumps, you get all used to it again and it comes like nobody's business. Takes about a month or under to get back into after having not driven for ages, def go out with a driver for a few drives, but try and avoid family! I should point out though, I can't *really* drive for shit. I'm a terrible driver and do some pretty messed up stuff, but I can feel myself getting better with time, and don't/haven't found myself in terrible situations. As long as you're paying attention things should be ok, but I agree with the idea of assuming everyone else on the road is a bad driver(which I do, knowing the stuff I do) as it helps you be more cautious. Biggest problem with driving though, is insurance for a start; despite having 'had' my licence for 3 years and being 23, I still paid ~£940 for 10 months of insurance(fully comp) with my mum as a named driver(who's never going to drive it anyway). Insurance seems to have increased a lot in the last few years, which is very annoying as it does feel like daylight robbery. Also the other biggest thing, having a car that is shit does not help much, had a lot of stress with that and still got some going. Make sure you buy a good one, or know a decent mechanic!
  23. I spent a large part of this evening learning howstuffworks.com, namely gears clutches and gearboxes, along with a few other things. Quite interesting!
  24. All right, more miss than hit for me though.
