  1. This threads a pretay good idea, I like finding new music and listening to new and upcoming bands. http://www.myspace.com/airbourne05 - this is my band (I'm the drummer), we're not up to much at the moment because we've all got our A-Level exams, but hopefully when their over we'll do some stuff.
  2. I use to have this idea that games are a way of doing things that you cant nessasarly do in real life (how many of us are going to work for MI6), so in that sense the realism of graphics can aid to the experience. But I do agree we do not need a perfect replica of New York, games should be able to take you away, and just allow yourself to be immersed without any outside worry's. I completely agree with this, you can tell that these people have just memorised a list of things someone said, not given them a second tought, as of course there right, and then you try and argue the games like wii sports and they just say why would i want to play cartoon, and yet everyone i know who has played wii sports has loved it. I was going to mention this as was well, if you think back the graphics on the game are not realistic at all, and yet when you play this game you are completely took away into role and enjoy the game so much. maybe thats where Twilight Princess failed slightly,(although i personally think this is an amazing game), but maybe because the graphics were trying to be realistic you did then, as Jasper said, notice things that were wrong. In septembre i'm off to uni to study games art design, and i do often wonder in the years to come, what kind of games will i be working on, will i need to be able to make a perfect replica of the empire state buliding, or will my imagination be able set free and make the next alien planet Samus lands on.
  3. I too love ExciteTruck, the only thing I wish they'd done is a more in-depth multiplayer. Online would be great of course, but just at home it could be so much better, for example computer players, tournaments, and two player crush would just be amazing just like destruction derby. So I hope in the second one (if there is to be one) these things are incorporated.
  4. Yeah the fast paste songs are always the best driving ones. As of the moment I have; Mountain - Mississippi Queen Muse - Stockholm Syndrome Queen - Don't Stop Me Now Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song Steppinwolf - Born To Be Wild
  5. Supose they'ed prety useful for some people, i dont plan to get them though any time soon. And the wii remote speaker i think is great, perfect sound, if you think it sounds crap have you tried turning the volume down, because if its at max then it is going to distort.
  6. k I've been trying to fix this problem for the past couple of days and have no luck what so ever so im hopeing you could possible help me. I recently bought a wireless router, and when I first got it it all work fine with my wii, but then a day later when I come to try it again it didnt work. For some reason when I search for a wireless acces point on my wii it cant find one. Things I've tried are moving the router, even moving the wii to within a foot of the router, I've switched it all off and back on nothing, I cannot figure out why it worked once but not any more. The Wii is the only wireless thing in my house so I cant try anything else to see if the wireless connection is not working. the error code on the wii is 5 diget 51030, my router is a netgear MR814v2. hope someone can help me, cheers.
  7. Whenever I saw a golf game in the past I never gave it a second thought, but this is one I would actually consider buying. I can see it haveing real depth with many different clubs and courses, the seal on the deal however would be online play. If it was online that would bring so much more to it, and the ability to download new things like courses, or even a course editor would be cool.
  8. Sorry if this is slightly off topic, but if i dont have any Wii friends, when online games come out can i still play other people.
  9. Think I've been playing games ever since I was born. I always remeber playing on the atari which was just amazing and still is (takes about 30mins to loads a game though). My grandad also had this thing with about 5 or so games on it, each controller was just a dial that you turned, but it had pong on it, now those were days of great gaming.
  10. A whole big war over Hyrule would be very cool. Instead of Link saving the day all by him self, big battles can be fought and alliences made. How you play the game could dictate how It turns out and what battles are made. it will still need the dungeon's and stuff though as well because thats what Zelda's are about. With a lot of time and effort they could make a truely great next generation Zelda. Just though as well wouldnt it be cool if this could also incorporate somekind of internet play.
  11. I've not got my Wii yet , so I dont know how well the controller is used for it in Zelda, but a Wii exclusive Zelda must definatly utalise the Wii remote the best way possible. As for the story line I don't think you can go too far away from it really, I mean its called Zelda so surely you must always have Zelda in it (Althought did Majoras Mask), but anyway all the royal family, master sword and tri-force things are what makes the Zelda story lines so deep and brilliant. And as for a point and click style, I really dont like that idea and think it would just ruinin the whole essance of Zelda.
  12. Thats just the daftest oddest thing I've heard, but at least it has worked out for you in the end. I how ever am building my Wii piece by piece. As I said before I have Red Steel, and now today I have recieved my nun-chuck . I must say its very very cool and sleek in deisgn, and it fits in my hand just perfectly. I've now just gotta wait for everything else now so i can actually play it, untill then im just going to hold the nun-chuck and pretend lol.
  13. I pre-ordered my Wii from PC World, got an e-mail Thursday morning saying your order is being processed, await a third e-mail confirming dispatch. Later that day got an e-mail saying we are sorry blah blah blah your not getting a Wii tomorrow. Great. Then to rub it in this morning I got Red Steel which I ordered from choices UK, its been on my desk taunting me all day lol. Also PC World said they have dispatched my extra nun-chuck, so in a couple of days ill have not only a game, but a nun-chuck as well, woooo... they have a asured me though i will recive a Wii before chirstmas so im happy lol.
  14. I find it a little odd that they would play a different set list for each of the days, but either way they know how to put on a hell of a show. I saw them at the Leeds festival as well, that was just absolutly amazing especially as I was front and centre.
  15. There seem to be loads of different ways of controlling games (and not just FPS), I like that idea substeinar and think it would work really well. The first idea I thought of though was unsing the nun-chuck movement to move you forwars backwars and look left and right, then the stick on the nun-chuck to look up and down and straf left and right, then the Wii mote just to move your cross-hair around (if thats hard to understand imagin it like the nun-chuck being the main analog stick, and the stick on it the c-stick). In my head i think this would work prety well. And if there are many different ways of controlling FPS then maybe games should have options so you can set it up how you would like it, althouht I dont know how easy or difficult that would be to.
  16. I know I said I wanted wave race, but since this thread started I've thought of so many more games I want now, and seeing that collection just makes me want more. But sadly even know there cheap, there are so many and im saving up for a Wii at the moment so think my gamecube will live on a few more years yet.
  17. Yeah I agree with this you can get games dead cheap now, I recently bought Enternal Darkness, and hope to buy Wave Race Blue Storm. I've found that ebay is an excelent source for cheap games, and would'nt mind getting a fourth controller if I see one.
  18. I'v been a subscriber of NGamer since the N64 days, it was really good then and throught out its NGC life as well, but since its been called NGamer is just doesnt seem the same. the reviews are still good, and although they can be slightly biased sometimes, i would say there prety accurate a lot of the time. But now there is probably about half the magazine i just dont even look at now. The dvd it comes with every month now though is really good, the last one had loads of videos of games back from the nes days, I loved that lol, good times.
  19. Hey guys im kinda new here, i've always looked around but i've decided to start posting and getting more involved now. I do agree that the whole tri-force hunt thing was just unessasary and seemed to just be there to extend the game, but the mention of metroid prime echos reminded me of in that when you had to get the key things, that was exacatly the same and just seemed needless. Anyway apart from those points i did think they were both brilliant games, and also im not sure about this cel shaded metroid thing, i've always like metroid for its beautiful sceanary. Can't wait for Wii Zelda and Metroid!!
