They're based in Guernsey, so I wouldn't bet on it. If you get your pre-orders on time from Play.com then you might be alright. I don't, so I'm not touching Powerplay for pre-orders.
-
Assassin's Creed is a multiplatform title though, so Mario Galaxy will be going up against several versions of the game. It might beat them individually, but I doubt it will combined.

I like the chunkier feel but for some reason it makes my hand sweat more than less.
-
So it is a budget game after all? I pre-ordered it when Gameplay had it listed for £17.99, but they then bumped it up to £30. And now it's been dropped back down to £17.99?

We've Not Forgotten About the Hardcore Gamer - Nintendo

Probably because it's deeper than games aimed at the non-hardcore and, inspite of its easier touch screen controls, is very much a typical Zelda game. -
PS3 Price Cut... and Wii still sells more
c0Zm1c replied to Zechs Merquise's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I think it's likely that all future consoles will have some form of motion controls, but I agree that's not what everyone wants. They just need to cater for both camps really, by making games that have motion controls and games that don't, or at least use it very sparingly. -
Gameplay recently moved warehouse, I think that's why they're not as good now (although it hasn't affected some). I used to get my games from them the day before release, but now it seems mostly on the day - which still isn't bad I suppose. I've normally received games from ShopTo the day before release, and they're not bad for prices either. Free delivery too.

I got the game this morning. I've played about a hour of it so far. I like it!

Good point. I'm interested in how MP3 controls, controls being the Wii's main focus.

PS3 Price Cut... and Wii still sells more

The only 360 RPG I want is Fable 2. Still, that's one more than the Wii. My taste in RPG's is quite peculiar though. I can't stand turn-based battles, so I avoid games that have them like the plague: so I was very pleased when they announced Super Paper Mario would have real-time battles. I love Two Worlds (PC version) but everybody else seems to hate it. And I can't say I'm fussed about Mass Effect. The story looks really interesting, but the video clips I've seen of the combat in action look depressingly dull. -
...you post messages on a Nintendo forum.

The games I've pre-ordered from Play.com in the past have almost always arrived with me the following Wednesday. That's why I don't use them for game pre-orders. I've read plenty of comments online from people who usually receive them the day before release though, so it might depend on where you live. On the other hand, I often get DVD's from Play.com on the Saturday, two days before their release. So I use them for DVD pre-orders.

PS3 Price Cut... and Wii still sells more

...and yet my 360 is gathering dust, whilst my Wii is used regularly. As for Rare, Conker and Kameo had fantastic graphics (for their respective platforms) but were average games at best, and I don't expect their next effort in the platformer genre to be any different, and certainly nothing to challenge Mario Galaxy, or even Ratchet & Clank on the PS3 for that matter. -
My copy was sent from Gameplay today. As long as I get it for Friday I'll be happy.

Didn't Nintendogs get a perfect score from Famitsu?
-
I hope I get it Friday, because I've booked the day off work for it!

Not to me it doesn't. I wouldn't be happy with a multiplayer mode like that. It needs much more thought putting into it than that. Most games don't need multiplayer, but most of them could/do benefit from having one. I think you're right that the majority aren't buying Metroid for its multiplayer, but that's mainly because it has been a weak imitation of that found and done better in other games. If they were to put more effort into it (like a separate cooperative campaign where players need to combine their individual abilities to make progress, as I suggested in my previous reply) it would be a great deal better, and possibly worth buying for its multiplayer alone for those who want that more than the single-player.
-
Metroid could have a great multiplayer mode. It's just a case of them, so far, not making an effort to give it one. For what it is, Hunter's multiplayer isn't bad. But it's little more than a 'me too' approach than anything that would actually sit right with Prime's gameplay. One of the stand out gameplay aspects in the Prime series has been the powerups, and the need to acquire and use them to make progress. It's what helps set it apart from your typical FPS. Building a cooperative multiplayer mode around this would be far better than just chucking in the usual deathmatch modes you find in the vast majority of FPS games - it's no wonder a lot of people continue to believe Metroid and multiplayer can't/shouldn't mix.
-
I'd love Metroid Prime 3: Corruption to have a multiplayer mode. But the multiplayer I want would take a year or more to code. To be honest I think I'll be happier with just the single-player mode now than waiting that long for the game.

I don't think she's been mentioned yet, Radha Mitchell? She's not the 'perfect' Samus Aran, but a decent candidate I think.

For online gaming the Xbox was the outstanding console of last generation. And to say there was hardly anything worth playing on it besides Halo is quite an exaggeration I think. I played and enjoyed plenty of Xbox games, and Fable was in fact my favourite console game of last generation.
-
I think the online mode saves Motorstorm. Because of it, the game has a lot of replay value and can become really addictive, something severely lacking from the single player. If Motorstorm didn't have the online mode then I would definitely prefer Excite Truck by quite a margin, but because of the online mode I like the two games about the same.

For the type of racing games you want you're better off getting a 360. And for shooters you're better off getting a PC. The PC is a pretty good platform for racers too, and has some top quality gaming peripherals to boot - the Logitech G25 Racing Wheel is fantastic! Expensive, yes, but worth every penny it if you're a fan of racing games.

Claudia Black? She doesn't look much like Samus Aran, but she can certainly play a strong and intelligent character, as she did in Farscape as Aeryn Sun.

Xbox Live More Important than Wii...Says Molyneux

It's a pity the system can't monitor your behaviour online and automatically assign you to the zone that best suits you.
