  1. No problem. If you get really down to it and nitpick on every single technical detail, the 360-version probably is the more technically superior-version outthere, but not by an enormous margin. From what I've experienced, you really have to be looking for it. It's far from the train-wreck some may have led you to believe. It's no Bayonetta PS3, that's for sure. Now that was a true port-catastrophy... and yet still playable. I'm looking forward to go through Arkham City all over again.
  2. Niceness! It doesn't quite deverse the New-moniker just yet, but it's one of the best, if not the best New Mario Bros-game! And one of the moire challenging at that. Only two minor things I hold against it: the use of identical soundbites from previous game (Can't count how many times I've heard 'Mario Time' over the last few years) and the fact you can't play it with the Gamepad without shutting down it's screen. I find it somewhat annoying with the screen and music playing through the gamepad. Then again, the Wii-remote works just fine, so it's a minor issue.
  3. I have loads op Wiiu-games to play, but have only tries NSMBU and Arkham City. Since I'm very familiar with the original edition and because what I've read on them internets (Horrible framerate! Unplayable mess! What ARE those shadows! Texture-loading! Boo and Hiss!), I've spent a fair amount of time with the Armoured Edition... and it's good. Not better, not worse, but definitely Arkham City. Only with a slightly crappier looking suit. The gamepad really is an improvement, I feel. The map is just a look down away, and everything is avaiable just a couple of presses away. Have to get used to the new controller, though. Since my hand are acustomed to the 360-controller, It's weird playing Batman with the second analogue stick above the buttons. But it just takes a little getting used to. I really don't know what the backlash for the Wii U-version on the net is all about. Yes, a frame may get lost here and there, but it's not noticable and doesn't hamper gameplay for me, unlike some reports on the net. And the gamepad is really well suited for this game. If you've played the original, there is little for you here besides some new gamepad-additions. If not, you simply have no excuse to not take this trip to Arkham City.
  4. How can the classics be overlooked? Doshin The Giant! Be good and boring... ...or be bad and have fun! And ofcourse a true Starfox sequel.
  5. I'll be getting: Nintendo Land (comes with the console, so not really a choice there) New Super Mario Bros U ZombiU Sega Racing Transformed Arkham City: Armored Edition My poor, poor wallet...
  6. It's just that they don't make manuals like they used to, if they make one to begin with. I understand it's more ecological, but still... Can't really be bothered with digital manuals. And even then it's usually in black & white. So it's indeed only a manual, but it's a colourful manual, which is a rarety these days. Ah, the days of my youth...
  7. Niceness!! Oh yes, oh yes!! Call me a child, but this is one of the reasons why I like Nintendo. Look at it! It radiates fun! Brings me back when I used to read the Super Mario World manual back and forth and back and forth again... Yes, my childhood may have been pretty nerdy is retrospect, but this gets me all giddygiddy.
  8. Looking forward to this! I like the one-bite-and-you're-a-gonna idea, as it creates that old Resident Evil-tension and it has a Condemded-vibe to it, but the much-talked-about inventory management without pauzing the game isn't quite new. Dead Space and Resident Evil have been there before. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to my London Zombie Apocalypse. Only... that name... that name...
  9. Never had the problem... but now you've gone and put the thought in my head! You've incepted me! Cursed! I'm cursed!! Now I'm noticing! Now I'm paying attention!
  10. Same here! I've got the same games on preorder, so let me tell you, sir, you have an impeccable taste in games. It's nice and varied. Batman is Kickass as always, but I already own another version. If you haven't: can't recommend it enough! a
  11. One day in and I'm loving it! Not quite as good as 3D land, but it feels like comfortable a mix between the singlrplayer-focus of the original and the original ideas from Wii. It's probably my favourite title in the New-brand. Not really fond of multiplayer Mario, truth be told... But there is an awful lot of recycled material, though... Imagine if SMB3 borrowed so much from the original, where would the brand be today. I don't they would dare tu use the same themesong three games in a row. :p But it's 2D-Mario goodness, so my Insta-Love meter clicks on and all is forgiven. It's my weakness. That and kittens.
  12. I for one think it's definitely an improvement over the original 3DS. As with the DSi XL, some game really do benefit from a bigger screen, like MK7, Pilotwings, Ridge Racer, MGS, even Street Fighter IMO. I've only played it for two days now, and when I go back to the original, the screens feel really... small. That said, as with the DSi XL, the individual pixels are more noticable. It also feels slightly less sturdy in general. For me, the positive definitely outweigh the negative, but if you don't feel like you need bigger screens, there's little incentive to invest in the XL. Since I'm a scratch-freak, I think I'm going to look for some touchscreen-protection tomorrow.
  13. It's a good game. Not as good as the original Yoshi's Island, but still a good platformer. I've had loads of fun with it, though you do get the feeling it' indeed isn't Nintendo self who is pulling the strings. If you even have a chance to play the original, do yourself a favour and definitely give it a try. Maybe you can seek out the GBA-version. I assume you don't have the ambassador-program, or you'd have downloaded it by now. I'm currently replaying it as the ambassadors-download. I hope they make the GBA-games available for non-ambassadors. It truely are gems, and it's a shame to have them digitally, but only hand them out to a select few. It's been a year: throw them on Virtual Console already.
  14. Hazaa, red 3DS XL Red bagged! And what a nice beast it is! The top screen is indeed warmer thet the original, but it's mostly just noticable on the menu screen. Ingame, it's not really an issue. Transfer went smoothly. Not an ounce of data lost, and there was lots of it to get lost. I've checked out the games which reportedly aren't quite so hot on the new screens. Haven't noticed anything worse in comparison with other 'good' games. Maybe it are me olde eyeballs playing tricks on me, though. Since I couldn't go with the exchance program, I still have my old 3DS, and I have a cunning plan... I made another player on the formatted 3DS and activated streetpass. Which means soon I'll have a Level 7 hero with a nasty firespell on a daily basis for Streetpass Quest II (which I've only just begun...). I was wondering, untill now I've always bought a protection-sticker for the touchscreen. They aren't available yet for 3DS XL, but is it actually worth it? How bad are the scratches from normal use? The sticker from my original 3DS is pretty beaten up, but that might be becaue of the quality of the sticker itself. So, do you use protection? (Disclaimer: For the 3DS touchscreen! Perverts...)
  15. I played a demo-unit yesterday, and the difference in indeed remarkable! Just got a textmessage that my red 3DS XL is waiting for me in the shop. Won't get there until tomorrow, though. Fingers crossed for no dead pixels.
  16. Twin Snakes? Yes, please! Sons of Liberty? Not so much, no.
  17. Perhaps I'm being paranoid like the sweet, sweet voices keep telling me, but is it a coincidence that Wario Land 2 is getting a release on VC now? Both games have a heavy emphasis on coin-collecting. Maybe I'm looking too much into this, though. Still, it's a nice warm-up for the money-grabbing antics that'l follow. Pretty, pretty coins...
  18. Yep, I'll be having the red one then. Have no idea what they're saying, but pretty pictures tickles me eyes.
  19. I decided on red! Grey is a tad too boring for my liking, blue is nice but not really my thing, and red looks too much like a Virtual Boy to let it pass by. :p Still, a yellow or purple one wouldn't go amiss...
  20. I like it! Though the gameplay and presentation is pretty much unchanged since KH2, it still works, and Freeflow is a pretty neat addition. I've heard pretty bad stuff about the Drop-mechanism, but it doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would. Shame there aren't as many worlds I would have like, but it doesn't break the game. And it's nice to see the cast of TWEWY again.
  21. Now that's a nice boxart!
  22. Gotta love those cute, randomized battlecries! :p Anyways, I'm loving this game, even though I'm not a FF-fan. But great music is great music and it's so fun to play. I've never had any interest in playing this until I tried the demo. Thank you, demo! I understand they want to make this into a franchise. I wonder what series they will tackle next. I wouldn't mind a collaboration with Nintendo and dig into Nintendo's music catalogue.
  23. True. As a matter a fact, the 3DS-version of SSFIV is by far my favourite, and I own all versions. I am w3ird, mind. Also true about Vita. I have one from day 1, and while it's a fine machine, software is sparse and some of the well known Sony-franchises haven't fared well at all, like Resistance, Modnation Racers or Ridge Racer (well, the last is more former Sony-franchise, but you get the idea.) 3DS started off mediocre as well, and by now most of my Most Wanted list are 3DS-games. Anyways, I wasn't waiting for a redesign, but I welcome it nonetheless. But... won't new hardware mean a new Friend-Code? That sounds like a hassle...
  24. I was wondering exactely the same thing. In a year full of great games, this is still on top of my Most-Wanted-list for all consoles. I've even started playing Luigi's Mansion... again! It simply never tires! :p
