Maybe I'm not looking good enough, but... where's the mic?

My eyes weep from pure beautifulness!! Paper Mario in the palm of my hand... (Well, two actually). That's too awesome for me to comprehend, even without the 3D. Oh, this E3 will be remembered for generations to come! Well, a few years at least.
-
For Me, Nintendo 'won' this E3, just as Sony had in '09. They had the best conference overall, and was the most fun to watch and had the best news to tell. The best Nintendo conference in years, even though that's not saying much. And not a Cammy in sight! Well played! : peace:

[SPOILERS!!] The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Strange Cookie replied to Dante's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Before anyone claims that Legend of Zelda: SS has been foretold... No, this is not a swastika, but a 'omote' manji, symbolizing love and mercy. A swastika's legs go the other direction... and are drenched in the purest of evil. -
Unexpected! And awesome to boot! For once I must admit Nintendo had the best conference allaround.

[SPOILERS!!] The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Strange Cookie replied to Dante's topic in Nintendo Gaming
That's the stuff alright. Really digging the graphical style. Very colourful! The gameplay seems like great fun too. And kudos for Nintendo to put up a playable demo. Very brave! I like the more strategic element that has been put into the fighting, like the way enemies are defending. Good job! Bit worried about the abbreviation of the same, though. Zelda: SS? Is Link going Gestapo on us? :p -
So, the game in which Big Boss loses his sight of depth get the 3D-treatment. Ironic.

Good, apparently. I've read it somewhere, but I've been browsing from one site to the other, so can't really retrace my steps. Only a small issue... but I'm still not sold on the name. We all know names doesn't matter (Wii?), but I think it's too fabricated. "Hey, we have a brand new DS-like console, and it's got 3D! 3D... DS... 3DS! Result" It's like SpyKids 3D. Yes, it's the third move. Yes, it's in 3D. *sigh* My personal opinion, ofcourse. I know a lot of people find it to be pretty clever, but I find it quite the oposite. Not imaginative enough. Then again, there are worse name-offenders. Kinect?

Must have died and gone to a 3D Nintendo-heaven. It's been a long time since I'ved been so excited about any gaming device. It's got the games, it's got the innovation and from the looks of it, it's got the specs. I'm still in a rush at the moment, so sooner or later I'll come crashing back to earth. Let's hope it's not when they give away the release date or when the first true games get a hands-on. I was expecting a lot. I got way more than I bargained for.

While I'm impressed with the 3DS and it's games overall, this has made the least impression on me. Not graphic-wise, but (dare I say it?) the air-ground-mechanic reminded me too much of Starfox Assault. I know it's hard to judge from the footage, but that was the first impression I had. Well, apart from the shady music and the earbleeding voice-overs. :p But a very nice surprise nontheless! Nintendo won't let us down with Pit's long overdue return, will they?
-
This. Is. Excellent. This is all I have to say on the matter.

No problem, and you raise some good points, actually. Have to admit the bosses are rather short. Whereas in the prequel they were genuin 'events', now they are just some harder-then-usual enemies. There are some great personalities inthere, but unlike NMH1, not all of them are memorable... just beamfodder.
-
That's... harsh, but fair, I suppose. If everyone felt the same about games, this would be a boring place indeed. Oddly enough, I have quite the opposite experience. Whereas I just chopped, chopped away in the first game, not incorporating any real strategy (except for a few boss-battles), here I really have to think about using high/low attack, evading, etc. I feel it's more diverse than the first game. I personally don't find the tone any less punky than the first one too. Sure, some corners have been cut, though I don't think anyone misses the sometimes tedious going back and forth for some jobs. I think that system is better handles in NMH2, and dare I say, more fun. Also love that it actaully gets hard to max out your stats. In the first game, it was just going through the motions (pun intended). Here, you have to work HARD!! ... and evade kisses. :p But I can agree the bosses are less strategic than in the first. On the other hand, the 'regular' enemies are way better. It actually is less repetitive and more fun to get to your target this time. Give some, take some, eh.

And I join the parade: YES! YOU! SHOULD! :p Can't recommend it enough, so I'm thrilled about numero dos.

Ouch. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/review-alpha-protocol/100742 Gametrailers: 6.4

No respect for release dates these days, eh. :p Guess we'll have to wait for some real reviws to turn up. I sounds interesting... if it works. From what I've gathered so far the graphics aren't really that great, but the game behind it is pretty solid.

It's good fun and a true trip down memory lane. And you just gotta love the look and quirky humour of it. Great use of music too. It's doesn't quite have that Nintendo-spark, but I can't bring myself to not recommend this, especially to old farts like myself who grew up with the original Zelda. Spent quite some time fabricating myself from mere dots. It's shameful the endresult is actually better looking than the real deal...

Alpha Protocol totally slipped under the my radar (Ha, see what I did there? ), until I saw it in stores yesterday. I'm familiar with Obsidian's previous works, but the lack of any real hype, coupled with some not-quite-so-hot previews have made me cautious. Since there are no reviews yet, I'm asking here: Who has it and how does it hold up? Impressions, people, impressions!
-
Picked this up yesterday (after having totally forgotten this came out). First impressions after about an hour and a half in? Way better than NMH1, which is still a cult classic IMO. It's better looking, it plays better and smoother, the blood is intact and makes for more 'sensible' cutscenes, and though I was initially put off by the fact that you don't get to drive around... trust me, it's a blessing. It's way more streamlined this way and better for it. And the training you do with Jeanne, your cat, is hilarious! Yes, I'm easily amused when it comes to cats. Oh, and small detail: you get to walk around freely in your appartment, store, gym, etc. Small, but pleasant.

Sin & Punishment: Successor Of The Skies
Strange Cookie replied to Tellyn's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Ha, the sweet scent of hardcore arcadeblasting... and the aromatic flagrance of early releases; If ever a game was made for Wii, this is it. It's awesome, and even better than the original S&P. A friend of the missus came by yesterday, and even she was enthralled by what she was seeing. Granted, flying through a watertunnel while being attacked by giant fishes isn't something the regumar game offers. This deserves all the attention it can get. The animations during cutscenes hasn't really progressed since the N64-days. Ah well, as long as lots of stuff explodes, it's fine. -
Nownow, there is no need to rude. Canand, what we're trying to say is, that while it surely is a rumour, you have to be a bit more sceptical when it comes to this kind of stuff. With regards to the document here, it's clearly not trustworthy. There are a lot of indicators that point out it's probably a fake. I can understand you want to bring this up as being a fake and an interesting point of conversation, but I suggest you don't create a seperate thread for every piece of information you get across. Since you were specifically refering to a MGS HD-remake, I suggest you post such things in the general PS-thread. Boy, won't we fall flat on our collective face when this turns out to be true anyway.

I was intruiged... until I saw... Fahrenheit 2: not going to happen Mass Effect: confirmed time and time again that it's not coming to PS GoWIII: Afterfall: too obvious a name to be real. If you've seen the ending, you know what I mean. Metroid: the oder M: Errrr... Zelda: fall of Hyrule: makes my eyes bleed. Nintendo would never. Mario Kart Wii 2: never 2 Mario Karts on one console Red Steel 3: c'mon... FFVII HD: confirmed never to be HD's. Too much work. And so on, and so on... And after a while you realize that the games are either dead giveaways, or simply a futile attempt to stir up a fuzz. "The Fall of Hyrule?" It's fake. It's a list with titles everybody knows are underway, completed with a unrealistic wishlist.

Well, I did my part for the salesfigures. I was initially put off by the controls, but after a bit of customizing, it works well. It's fun, I'll give you that, but it feels slightly too... fabricated and artificial. It's too much going back and forth between segmented areas (with each a small loadingtime), where there are X number of foes waiting for you. It's a good, game, don't get me wrong, but it's not as... adventurious or ambitious as I had thought. It's too much style over substance. But, as I've said, I'm having a great time. Who'd have thought one could get rich by slaching garbagebags and boxes? =p And the main character is a badass! =p But not as badass as this gunslinger: Now, for that Dark Tower-game...

My curiousity is picked. Anybody care to post a pic of that Dhalsim T-shirt? I was brave this weekend and ventured into the online arena. Somehow... I won. I was Ruy, and I was up against Juri (same ranking as me - loooow), and while it was a very close shave... I actually won. Sweet banana, there is someone worse than me! Fear me, lowest and weakest echelon of the online SSFIV-community, for I TRAMPLE on thee! Muhahahahahaha etc. Let me have my fun.

I got it from a big-chain gamestore. I'm literally surrounded by gamestores, both big chains and indies, and there is usually one who sells mayor titles early. RE5: Gold was sold a whole week in advance, Yakuza 3 also 5 days. It's just a matter of doing the rounds here. It's not one store, though. now it's this one, the next time another. I remember playing SFIV for the first time, and while good, it didn't blow me away. Surprisingly, as this is an update, this one has me floored. The presentation is great (No more 'in-des-tructableeeee', mind. Whether or not this is good or bad, I leave up to you ), the Bonus Stages are a real treat in a Back-to-the-ol'days way. Sometimes, one of the 'bad guys' from Final Fight even comes to say his famous line. If that isn't great fan service, I don't know what is. The new backgrounds are way more interesting and dynamic the older ones, and all characters are unlocked from the get-go, which makes for an excellent roster from the beginning. And Prison-Cody is the icing on the cake. Even the voice-acting is pretty good... for a fighting game. It feels more complete, polished and balanced (for as far as I can tell) then SFIV. Essential, and for a midlow-price. I you have SFIV, you simply have to update. If you don't have SFIV, there hasn't been a better time to do so.
