N-Europe Old Year's Eve Multiplayer Extravaganza MMXVII
Sméagol replied to Sméagol's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Haha, like I said, I just started (I've only played the GP on easy so fay, apart from test punches a long time ago). I don't mind getting my ass kicked in party mode, when there's various stuff going on including a 3 player co-op battle, But I'm not just going 1 on 1 on you just yet ;). -
Yeah I can't stand Seth McFarlane, so I'll take a pass on Orville. On another note, the first episode of Black Mirror has something of a hommage / parody of classic Star Trek as well. I liked some things about it, including the ending, but there's stuff I don't like about it, I can't imagine a futuristic virtual reality game working like that for example. Some of the episode is tongue-in-cheek, but it clashes a bit with the serious stuff in the real world I think.

I was hoping for more games / players as well, but it looks like it will be just like Thursday nights. Was hoping for some Arms action, even if I'm crap at it. I suggest moving up Splatoon to directly follow Mario Kart, then leave it at that. Personally I'll be online for some time after 00:00 CET / 23:00 UK, so I'm up for some more games if any others are. 20:00 - 20:45 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - 3 GP player's choice everything? Glen-i Nicktendo Sméagol S.C.G 21:30 - 22:30 Splatoon 2 - I suggest simply public Turf War, there's no Salmon Run. Glen-i Nicktendo Sméagol Mentioning everybody including the tentatives? @Glen-i @Nicktendo @S.C.G This is the first time I noticed there's no full stop after the G. This annoys me. @Ike @RedShell Sorry @londragon, it looks like there are no late night gaming sessions tonight. -
Time to get hyped?

See if you like the game first, and are up for a challenge. The dlc that's currently out consists of 8 extra hard missions. There are also some extra (local) co-op missions. There's a whole new world with an extra playable character coming early next year, but nothing is known about it beyond that.

Whoever was in charge of naming them should be fired. They actually look quite nice. Haha, literally translated, that's what they're called. I know it sounds disgusting in English, which is why I keep mentioning them. We're obviously used to it. They're deep-fried balls of dough, so the name isn't that strange. -

Traditional Dutch oil spheres -
It's a bit rusty again at the moment, but I know more about SQL than I know about spreadsheets. If you think you could do this in a spreadsheet, be my guest.

- Of course, I'm going to put the finalized schedule in the OP. - I need some the time around 23:00 to be free, as for me that's 00:00. Though you could also simply schedule one of the games I don't own, like Rocket League. - I'm in for Mario Kart, Arms (though I've barely played it at this point, so I'm crap at it), Splatoon of course, and Doom if it makes the cut. - I guess we also need suggestions on what modes to play. For Mario Kart I'd suggest to keep it simple with the the general 3 GP format, with player's choice everything. Perhaps 2 GP and a battle mode. - I suggest plenty of large breaks in between in general. Like I said, those oil spheres aren't going to eat themselves. I may not be doing anything special, but there will be plenty of food. Some suggestion for times: 20:00 - 20:30 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Glen-i Nicktendo Sméagol 21:15 - 21:45 ? I'd suggest Arms. 22:30 - 23:15 ? I'd suggest Rocket League. Like I mentioned, 23:00 isn't good for me.. 00:30 - 01:15 ? I'm assuming most of you need some time around 12 O'clock as well. 01:45 - 02:30 ? I'd suggest to finish the night off with Splatoon -
I don't want to hi-jack this thread, but I had this idea for a website, just for us, where you could enter details like this in a database. This would enable to show some stats for our community, ranging from simple things like "what's the most popular game on NE", to more specific things like, the average value per hour of a game, if you were also to enter the price you've paid for a game. Anyway, I'm not going to list them all (I can't even view them all), but here are my most played games on the Switch: The legend of Zelda : Breath of the Wild - 255 hours or more Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - 140 hours or more Splatoon 2 - 130 hours or more Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle - 70 hours or more Doom - 55 hours or more Infinite Minigolf - 45 hours or more Super Mario Odyssey - 40 hours or more Mario Kart Deluxe - 30 hours or more L.A. Noire - 15 hours or more Picross S - 15 hours or more The rest is 10 hours or more.. Or less. I had to boot up some of those games to check the time. There's a lot of idle time included though.

Yeah, that's no problem, I also don't have all the multiplayer games, so I also won't join in on every game. I suspect most of us don't have all the games. Just join in on the games you do have. Pokken.. I actually haven't heard many people talking about that here.. Do enough people here have it and want to play it? I was personally also thinking of Doom, but I think it may have the same problem. It's the dove from above! Anyway, sounds good. -
Current schedule: 20:00 - 20:45 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Races with Randoms Glen-i Nicktendo Sméagol S.C.G Nintendo Fan Ike 21:15 - 22:15 Splatoon 2 - 3 Vs 3 Private Battle Glen-i Nicktendo Sméagol Nintendo Fan Ugh First Aid Ike 22:45 - 23:45 Rocket League Glen-i Nicktendo Nekunando 00:30 - 1:00 ARMS Sméagol Nicktendo 1:00 - ??? Splatoon 2 Whoever is available. ############ Original post ############ Or NEO YEME for short. Edit: NE OYE ME sounds fun as well. No God damnit, it's my idea! So I was wondering if there are any other people staying at home and mostly playing games at New Year's Eve (In Dutch it's called Old Year's Eve, as that makes more sense of course). To me, it's a night barely different from any other night, except with oil spheres, champagne, some fireworks outside in the distance, and a guarantee not to have to work the following day. If there are any other people not being cool and dancing their ass off at some fancy party, maybe we can organize some multiplayer sessions. Let's end the year, and start the new one, by playing games! We need to agree on the games, and the times. I'd like it to be a representation of 2017's biggest Switch multiplayer titles, so not just Splatoon all night. I'm also thinking short session, 30 to 60 minutes. As for the games, I'm thinking: Arms, Mario Kart, Splatoon, Rocket League, maybe Bomberman. I'll have to think about the times, as I'm in a different timezone. Anyway, let me know if you like this idea, and if you have any suggestions.
-
Yeah exactly. We can't have such an evening without a Rocket League session for example, eventhough I personally won't join in on it. But I want it to be a representation of some of the bigger online titles we've had this year. I'm thinking Arms, Mario Kart, Splatoon, Rocket League, and maybe Fifa. For me personally that would be 3 out of 5 (I bought Arms a week ago). Maybe Fifa isn't a good fit, as it's a 1 vs 1 thing, I don't know. Oh Bomberman perhaps. Sessions of 30, 45 or 60 minutes,
-
By the way, are there any other sad people staying at home at Old New year's eve? I know I'll be mostly gaming that night, as to me it's almost the same as any other night, except with a truckload of oil spheres, and champagne at 12 O'clock. If there are any other people staying at home and playing games, it could be fun to organize some NE New year's eve multiplayer extravaganza, playing short sessions of various online Switch games al through the evening / night, with plenty of breaks of course, because those oil spheres aren't going to eat themselves. And you know, the champagne thing. And fireworks I guess?

I love how the new posts section at the right on the forum main page cuts off the smiley. You damn racist.
-
L.A. Noire has been discounted on Dutch shop BOL.com as well (30 euros), though that won't do most of you any good.
-
Pyra Homura figure coming from Goodsmile. Nice. I want some Nendoroids too though!
-
Ah, well then you're out of luck. I just checked, and the sale ends on the 28th. Sent from my PC using Chrome.
-
(Oh and on a sidenote: I don't sound as cute as either, sorry)
-
Haha.. Well, I only vaguely know what you're talking about, since to me, Nia sounds like this: It's funny, rewatching this cutscene, and now I finally know what that secret is they mention.
-
This has been going on for days now. It was announced on the Nintendo site, in the news section of your Switch, and reported on various websites. If you've actually taken a look in the E-shop you could've seen loads of games on offer. Perhaps the offers don't interest you, but it should've been obvious there was a sale going on.
-
Yeah. Eventually, the transitions gets slower until it stops completely. It's a bit hard to control where you want the division.
-
I thought there was one, but it doesn't show up on the search. Mod's can merge my first post, and delete this one (and presumably @Happenstance's post) Edit: Search doesn't work if you just search for "Wonder Boy" like the lazy arse I am. It shows up if you search for the exact full title.
-
This didn't seem to have a thread either. One of the great early E-shop titles. Getting a (expensive) physical release in january. Anyway, the latest patch added video capture. I used it to tweet this little trick:
-
I'll probably get the full soundtrack later.. Just so I can play this over and over: ( @Glen-i )
