General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion
Wii replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Not to mention the price tags on 360 and PS3 were colossal in comparison to the Wii U especially the PS3. Also those consoles were on a slow upward trajectory while Wii U is heading in the other direction. Things can only get better surely even if I'm not satisfied with this years line up. From such a low sales base you'd imagine it can only go up. -
God damn. Can the Wii U catch any break? Warner Bros. won't be getting my money again. I bought Arkham City, I'm annoyed but I can sort of understand their decision. @liger05 makes a great point, the Wii U version should be cheaper but we all know it won't be.

An Appropriate Price For The Wii U? - Take Two
Wii replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I believe €250 would have been the sweet spot for the launch with a proper game like Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate but it wasn't possible. I know NintendoLand was designed to showcase the Wii U but I find it fairly bland. Haven't really touched it since launch. I only bought this bundle because the ZombiU bundle was sold out. Add to that when the competition launch asking for €350 will look like Nintendo are criminally insane. Nintendo can deny it all they like but we all know for a fact it's coming. -
I saw a Pikmin 3 ad on TV yesterday twice. The first Wii U ads I've seen since the launch ads.

As well as the huge price difference between the Wii U and PS3, it could be argued that the PS3 was battling for the money of consumers against the current gen consoles in the form of Wii and XBOX360 whereas the Wii U has had a year headstart on PS4/XBOXONE facing instead last gen competition. -
Thanks for the non explanation. They're only charging more because they knew it would sell like wildfire. Not a nice way to treat your customers.

I heard the sad news this morning. Apparently he died in his sleep of a heart attack which is a small comfort as he didn't suffer. Anyway here's a short but sweet tribute to the man.

Apparently the w@nk€rs that are Man Ure are going to get Cesc Fabregas. You heard it here first.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Wii replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
http://mynintendonews.com/2013/07/19/iwata-hopes-to-reveal-zelda-wii-u-in-the-not-too-distant-future/ When he says soon, I'd assume soon would mean this year. I can't see it being shown before WindWaker is released. It would make a nice Christmas present if it was revealed in a Nintendo Direct. -
Wrong. Try living in Ireland and you'll know what ripped off is. The worst culprits are the likes of Tesco, Dixons, Argos, basically all the English companies. They mark up all their prices. You've no idea how bad it is. As an example, we don't have ASDA selling Wii U's for £200, we don't have ASDA full stop. We have Tesco who don't even sell the Wii U and are charging full retail price for 6 year old Wii games and a lot of those are shovelware. Cheapest Wii U premium bundle is €360 in Smyths which is £310. Do the Americans have to pay tax on a download. I doubt it. How would they even do that?
-
I just checked the eShop and it's €9.99. Sorry but I'm sick of this $h!t. I know it's not much but £6.99 works out at just over €8. So what's their excuse? It costs more to send it digitally to Europe? Just like Tesco's slogan should be, "Every little helps rip you off". It's like in America it's $9.99 and that works out at €7.60. So why should we Europeans be ripped off? It's b0!!0x that's what it is.

Ya, it's not a Star Wars game. It's a Star Wars themed Angry Birds game. Big difference.
-
Damn. Very deceiving. I thought we were getting a real Star Wars game. Angry Birds? No thanks. Got my hopes up for nothing.

There is a God. Best news from the Direct by a mile. Best news in a long time. So we'll finally get to experience what is supposed to be a real gem. Thank you Nintendo!

It's over. A price drop at this stage won't help. 3rd parties are either gone and are never coming back or they soon will be in the case of Ubisoft by the end of the year. Nintendo made every single mistake possible with the Wii U. We all know what they are and to list would take too long. Look at Capcom, they've given us 2 ports and have nothing else announced. The fact that they can't get Japanese developer support speaks volumes to the scale of the problem. -
http://mynintendonews.com/2013/07/17/rayman-legends-will-include-40-levels-from-origins-plus-developer-demo/ Nice I guess but I've played and completed Origins so not very enticing to me. No harm done, I'm sure others will appreciate the levels.

It's most definitely from Pikmin 3. It's in loads of the videos.

Exactly. There is no way out of this hole now. It's too late, the damage is done. As Chief Wiggum would say "Dig up stupid"! -

Half of those are rubbish and are not going to give the Wii U the kick up the backside it needs. Where are the Wii U ads now? Nintendo are the stingiest company when it comes to advertising. You need to spend money to make money you misers! -

Add to all those good points is that the PS3 had a well of power to be tapped into that took time to figure out. The Wii U does not and is probably closer to this generation than next generation which will cripple it even more in the long term. The price undoubtedly was the biggest stumbling price for the PS3. There's no saving the Wii U now, it's on life support, it's just a matter of when the plug is pulled. It was doomed from the start. I don't think it can survive like it did in the N64/Gamecube era. It takes too long now to develop games to survive the droughts. -
Samus's arm cannon destroys Megaman's puny pea shooter/flashlight. Did he buy that thing in £ World?
-
Fair play Janowicz. Needs a lot of improvement though. Those drop shots are simply awful and was abismal on Murray's serve until the tie-break. Stop playing the drop shots Janowicz, a dead blindfolded donkey could play them better than you.
-
I think Janowicz might just pee his pants and lose. I just hope he has the bottle for the occasion and the crowd. Flipkens, part 2?
-
Brilliant match, I tip my hat to both players. Sorry there had to be a loser. Was worthy of being the final. How do you follow that? Good luck trying to follow that Murray, Janowicz!
