Cubeboy WTF man..

You're onto something there, originally I wanted a PSP.. but after researching the games lineup over 2006, I found it to be piss poor. I didn't go to the nintendo DS until I saw how much fun it could be in the channel 4 adverts in touch with original comedy. their marketting guy Merrick did a good job and is probably the reason why I have a DS in my pack.

Yes the Revolution wont be used as a peripheral hub like a PC. Nintendo said it wont be used as a media centre like the PS3 and xbox 360. A PC is a hub for camcorders, cameras, mp3 players, usb flash drives, as a result.. it is convenient that you would have one on the front of the case. Anything that doesn't utilise the wireless (eg something with a high bandwidth like a camera or microsophone) will be easily mounted to the system by a reverse usb port and sat by the system. Nintendo have followed zen principles like Apple's iPod designing this thing.. They even said they don't want to overdo it with the accesories only if it will enhance the gaming experience.

The secret is not a camera, it's not a microphone. They're almost confirmed.. Miyamoto's involvement almost confirmed them. He even said how much he loved them.

I think the USB will go at the back.. who wants cables running out the front of the machine? It's just stupid, 1 at the back 1 at the front at the worst, 2 at the front is just stupid.. Why don't we just have the power supply coming out the disc drive? It'll just look so good that way. and the should have the AV cords coming out the front too.. lets just rotate the system so there is no aestehtic left at all.. we should just call it the Nintendo spaghetty. It's not as if the console is so big that having the usb ports at the back would be a inhibitting factor.. and it's also the case that the USB ports will probably be in use full time, because it's not being used for connectivity of portable devices like PDAs, mp3 players or cameras like the 360 does. I think it is 99.9% likely the usb ports will be on the back.. it goes against the design theme the console has followed (zen like simplicity) that would almost fit in any living space.

Sony's stance: We will release information when Nintendo offload some stuff in order to steal their thunder in the media. Nintendo's stance: We too will release information when Nintendo offload some stuff in order to steal their thunder in the media. Their PR departments are just groups of children running around offices shooting each other with water pistols really. They will tease each other until E3, but ultimately the mother load (if you will) will be dropped at E3 and not before.

Do it if you can, the art education community are really a bunch of ****s.. I didn't do it at GCSE because my school was full.. at college I couldn't do it because I didn't have the GCSEs and at university I couldn't do it because I didn't have the a-levels. The back up plan of doing a pre-foundation was out of the question because I lacked GCSEs and a-levels. I think you can teach yourself, I have a lot more respect for myself because of it: http://www.spencerocks.deviantart.com It feels like a-level you get spoon fed, and you do a lot of really shit stuff.. busy work if you will. I think you can get by in a world without the qualifications, you just need a portfolio. A camera is no different to a wrench or a football.

Wifi on the DS through the revolution? If your revolution is online chances are high that you have wireless already, so your DS will work no doubt (using the same proprietary flavour of 802.11) they aren't including ethernet to lower costs and space. The usb to ethernet port might never materialise.

Europe has no DS download spots, In Japan they do. What would I like to see? The revolution system connected to Nintendo wifi able to download DS demos. And for free too.. None of this Nintendo stars bullshit. If I get this I'll be happy with Nintendo wifi.. and of course Nintendo revolution should not lag when pwning someone in smash bros. and it should have a comprehensive play system with a good friends list.

I think you'll find that is Sony's memory stick, the announcement was one to try and counter the popularity of the iPod nano against the PSP. Could be SD too, I can't imagine the tech differs wildly.

No experience so I can't comment, if it's fake someone went to a lot of effort. Again no experience in 3D shops.. so i can't say.

whatch ur speeliing lawl

Nothing is confirmed, I doubt Saturn will be available.. maybe Sonic if Nintendo plays ball.
-
If the novelty wears of the quicker the better. Because once it has worn off it has become the new accepted standard in video games which Nintendo invented in the 80s. My real concern for the controller is that it will turn out cheap and plasticy as a result of Nintendo's attempts to lower cost.

Wonder is gizmondo will bother turning up this year.

Reason number 1 buying a Nintendo DS. the price (free mario kart) Reason number 2. electroplankton Reason number 3. final fantasy 3

You can all come to my event, it will involve NES tournaments in various classics and DS tournaments in Mario Kart, on the GameCube there will be a ridiculously large Smash Bros. tournament and of course laptops for feeds from the real event E3 There will be tea, cake and biccies. It's called E360.

pretty uggers if you think they're considering using a ethernet > usb modem connector for those without wireless. i get the vibe they are there just in case.. like on the PS2, and rarely used.. like that iLink slot too.
-
if the console is so small i'm curious as to whether the power supply is built in. i expect it'll be the 2 usb ports AV and power supply to the left end of the console, so when displayed vertically it wont result in it being top heavy.
-
2 SD cards could easily fit horizontally, 4 would be a ridiculous use of build cost especially with 2 compatible gamecube card slots. It's quite revolutionary.. SD is standard we can put our save files online easy now.. think of the possibilities for sharing stuff. hacks and mods cough. maybe even music for in game? the DVD dongle will fit in their too i guess.. wonder why we haven't seen the back of the console yet.

A true film lover doesn't use pirated/downlaoded movies.. Call me old fashioned (?) but I like a high resolution film.. DVDs are cheap these days and ridiculously cheap to rent by post. I think a good film is worth the money.. and don't start with this laser stuff.. what's next? buy a pair of shoes and not wear them? They might get a hole.. boo hoo. 10,000 hours seems like a pretty good deal for a £200 console + DVD dongle if there is any truth in that statement, which personally I have never heard before. My PSone from launch still runs fine.. though my PS2 did die before but they were shitty build quality.. What's that? 8+ years? I don't remember how long ago I got it but it holds up pretty nice.

It's not that bad.. the xbox had one. By doing this Nintendo can bang out systems all at one specification, quicker all in one stock pile, then they can bundle that with a localised power adaptor and a universal manual. Hey presto a console with no money going to whoever licenses DVD playback. Yeah we'll have to buy a dongle for our playback which means we will probably pay £20 for the thing and it will only play DVDs from where the region the dongle was purchased. But that's life.. It's not intended to be a money spinner it's intended to offer people a games console at the cheapest price possible. It's nice that they're offering us DVD playback because lets face it.. the VHS is dead, and the other technologies are gonna be expensive.. it's one less gadget to have in the house.. and I'll use it because i'm not an import film lover. At least it's designed to be internal so it wont effect the console's design edges.. only thing I hope is that the quality of DVD playback is good (convenient subtitles and fast forward stuff.. just generally a nice GUI) then it will probably be the smallest and sexiest DVD player on the market. Quit yo' jibba jabba

hmm. that's bum.. i got my hopes up for something rad. is there going to be 512mb standard on board? or are they just chucking in 512mb SD to plug into the front like you get 32mb with a digital camera. DVD dongle seems rad,

But wouldn't it be easier to engineer the chipset to have Gamecube memory cards and SD memory cards all in the top? seems to make the front of the console less seemless too. I know laptops manage it.. but they tend to be quite a pricey bit of kit, especially apple who have the slot loading drive away from the ports and they're all arranged on one side. Kinda silly really.
