  1. Just because the public has become bored with Tony Blair (stupid really as he's done a solid job) does not mean that the Conservative party will get in. Even the right win press has hailed David Cameron as a chameleon because his policies have been changing like the wind. The public don't like this spineless image.. it's very, Monty Burns Ahaha. Anyway, the public has got bored with Blair. Gordon Brown is very trusted in the public domain. Look at America, Bill Clinton did a great job as president (on the whole) and when they got rid of him just because he cheated they realised how good he really was. I think it's wrong to get rid of Tony Blair based on boredom and the war on Iraq.. people don't understand the information he was provided about the war on Iraq came from people in the party, he doesn't have time to spend all day checking sources and stuff- he bases his decision on trust in his team. While I didn't agree with the war on Iraq I agree with his decision about it.. it's a shame the dossier was flawed. Blair's a great leader, and I don't want him to go based on picky reasons like an affair like Clinton did. I'm saying this after he introduced top up fees which has fucked me off so much I'm not going to university now solely because I can't afford it.. so I'm not just some Blairite without a cause.
  2. We get in a freaking fight if someone walks in front of the screen when we're having a Smash Bros. tournament. This is going to get mental for certain games..
  3. Zelda on the 20th? The NDA still stands for first party games even on the 20th of April. I dunno if magazines will be allowed.
  4. Cost:Gain ratio- not great . It is not exact a relaxing holiday is it? But of course if America is something exotic that you'd enjoy then I guess it could count as a holiday. I see myself on Hawaii surfing more than in a press event with a bunch of w00ting news dorks.
  5. Any guesses which 3rd party titles will be held back? I'm guessing Crystal Chronicles wont be about on the 20th.. Square like to be nice and secretive. I think some 3rd parties might be inclined to keep certain titles a secret if they are only developping 1 or 2 titles then they want to save some momentum for E3 otherwise nobody will visit their E3 booth. I'm also guessing Metroid counts for this one little clause..
  6. 3 years ago it wasn't such a dream.. more of challenge financially- due to the popularity it's now press only.
  7. I've spoken to James, they really want someone able to commute each day because they don't want to pay for accomodation. Thus unless you have more money than sense- this is only for US citizens. I'd rather try and go on a press scholarship (where you have to work for it)
  8. There is a combination of technologies, RFID tech goes through anything and monitors the depth, breadth, speed, angle and trajectory and stuff. Then the pointing device is based on movement technology. I'm not sure what it is.. I've heard I.R, which is why we have the 'wand' sensor that goes above or below the TV It's an interesting point of view, we know the system is capable of manging 4 controllers in the 'quadrant' for split screen multiplayer games from the Red Steel announcement- it wouldn't truely be setting us 'free' is we're confined by the size our quadrant.
  9. E3 2006 Flickr pool Why Flickr? anyone can contribute photos, discussion and links all at once in a highly reliable and ultimately free environment. Yeah but what's the point? Because it's easier to navigate and contribute to than just a forum thread- it means the forum will be more 56k friendly. Provide a link to the image on Flickr- hey presto no laggage. Who else does it work for? The Macintosh geeks, every time there's a Mac event they'll leak photos onto Flickr and discuss it: very popular http://flickr.com/groups/macintosh/ Tell everyone you know about it, sign up and add photos.
  10. Gamespot's feature is really great. They've kinda guesstimated that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and also Donkey Kong will be available on launch. It's not confirmed as a launch title.. and no sources are cited. but it seems like a solid prediction- except for Crystal Chronicles.. if it's a new game, and not a rehash I'd expect it would take longer to make. They next page of the Gamespot feature has a good indication of what Revolution will cost.
  11. Haha just ban him from MSN and then the internet altogether just for speaking out of line. - Free speech on t'internet "just you fucking try and stop us"
  12. I've applied- I'll let you know if I get any response.
  13. Bingo, that news is as good as gold. Thanks.
  14. Hmm.. VIPs of what? Nintendo? Nintendo Europe has no such news on the VIP pages. Digg it.
  15. Yes but what if all the publishers are still bound by the no names, no screenshots no nothing disclosure agreements? The only thing we've heard from most major developpers is either a genre or a title and a linked genre. Red Steel has done it's job, it has made a big wave in the hardcore gaming community and debunked the myth that this controller is a gimmick. Skeptics who have seen the Red Steel screens will now take Revolution seriously at E3- that's the real aim of pre-E3 news.
  16. It depends whether Red Steel was a one off exception to the non disclosure agreement or whether Nintendo has lifted it for all major or minor developpers. I mean it's working.. Nintendo have 4 Revolution stories on the digg front page and a couple of DS stories too. It really is working.. by the end of the week Red Steel will have died down, perhaps it would be wise to release something else for Revolution. Depends how they want to play it.. I doubt it will be a first party title, and i doubt it's gonna come from Nintendo directly- but perhaps something else will pop up. I'm just waffling now, knowing that Nintendo worked so closely with Ubisoft on this one, and it really is the hardcore flagship for the console perhaps it is a 'one off' treat.
  17. I reckon something big will drop by the weekend, I'm also confident ONM (UK) will have something solid this issue.
  18. Pikmin form a monster. much like this: Working together as a swarm to attack as a larger entity.
  19. What a poo game hey?
  20. No risk, they're confident Mac OS pwnz enough that people will just use it 99% of the time. It's just to make the switch as easy as possible for the whole family I think. Of course there are implications for the gaming market, serious ones.. but not for the minor software industry. Mac dev community is super strong me thinks. Philosophically I think it's stupid, because Macs are renowned for reliability.. this comes from Apple designing all hardware and software.. having control of all aspects of the hardware from the centre of the OS. It's a shame if this tarnishes the reliability image of Apple instead of having the intended detremental effect on Windows XP.
  21. 20 games. 6 will totally blow. 14 will be 'meh' or better 8 of those will be "okay" or better 4 of those will be killer titles. Obviously based on individual opinion but I'm expecting the cards to fall like that. Welcome dude, i'm not entirely sure what you mean but this is a screenshot from 40 seconds of high definition real time in game play. It's totally legit and the guys blows the shit out of that marble statue and the glass. It's incredible.
  22. How can you pigeon hole UKIP and the BNP? They're both completely different. If I was a UKIP supporter I would not be happy about being placed in the same box as the BNP. While 'not voting' is a nice touch you don't go to an election and spoil your ballot, you just don't vote. Seems silly to have it here, I encourage voting (properly) for everyone even if it's just for the Monster Raving Looney Party. I would support the Green party, with a scientific background and interest I'm heavily worried about the environment and the economy.. but the Green party seem to think the latter is not important, their ideas for education are not solid. This idea that a vote for Liberal Democrats is a wasted vote is part of a political campaign, it's scare tactics and there is no science- if you vote it is not a waste. it's just like saying if you buy that car, that's a waste of money.. buy ours it is better. Yes their support is very thinly spread around the country.. it's a shame because they have some solid ideas but it is going to take some serious steps for them to take constituencies. Colchester and Cambridgeshire are like the only Liberal constituencies in the East of England I think.
  23. These people are trained thoroughly and hoax calls are usually so easy you could spot them a mile off. It is of course a great shame but this case is in the extreme minority.. It is a great shame but we just don't have the resources to respond to every call. I'm not advocating what the rep did, and I'm sure she's fucked up herself and probably seeing a psychologist now to see if she is mentaly stable but also fit to work. It is not unavoidable though.
  24. That's clearly an in game shot (FPS angle similar to the others) so that's some freaky clever AI if the swordsman knows how to surrender. I am loving this, I hope we can batter people with the butt of the gun and make them go all wimpy and tell you shit. Interogation station.
  25. I don't consider the laser lifetime of my console to be a big deal, it's something like a 3rd of a million hours anyway. The Revolution console is generic, it will be the same (perhaps except colour) for all regions, the console will be manafactured and shipped to Germany for Nintendo of Europe HQ to box it up, add manuals and the corresponding power supply for which country. The DVD dongle is a 'way around' making a different Revolution for each region like they did with the PS2 (raising the cost somewhat) and even then you still had to pay for a freaking remote that did the job properly. It is correct it will simply unlock DVDs for a particular region, a mpeg2 license is around £20, and the hardware/packaging costs should be included in this.. if the Revolution launches after blu ray it may be even cheaper because it's no longer the industry standard. I think the DVD playback is negligible unless you are a hardcore film viewer.. which I am not and if you think watching DVDs on it will make it break you're hugely misinformed, everyone knows the first batch of PS2 drives were shit. You can't judge all consoles by that one cock up. Of course there is no 'need' for it if you already have one.. I have a DVD drive in my iBook but it's not how I want to watch and even if I could buy a DVD player for about £30 off eBay I wouldn't because it simply wouldn't be stylish or slot loading and probably would come with a crap remote. I'm confident the Revolution FHC will have a cool DVD GUI. Theoretically if you were feeling rich you could import a Japanese/American DVD dongle to play import DVDs.. but it would probably be more cost efficient to buy a region free player from Amazon/eBay. I don't watch such DVDs. just doesn't compare.. Revolution is just an uber quiet stylish DVD player, that's why I want to use it..
