Rage Against The Machine Xmas No. 1 2009
Fresh replied to or else you will DIE's topic in General Chit Chat
It's just really sad that who ever decided on the whole "fight the corporate machine" angle didn't realise that ultimately they are both owned by Sony. Way to fight the power.... *sigh* -
Sorry ReZ, it just seems to be full of unfunny, recycled cheap gags that drag upon the lowest pop-cultural denominator. You really don't need to force your ramblings masquerading under the alas of "humour", at times you can be occasionally funny, just not on this medium. This just seems dumb and entirely unfunny.

Mario Party 8276. On a more serious note : Black and white 3. Or another (better) expansion to Black and White 2.

Meh.. kind of tired of discussing it now. It's on the agree to disagree pile. Tonight's games wasn't too bad, many areas where improvements could be made but a solid win so not much to complain about. Again Berbatov seemed lost at times, a nice piece of skill (or luck?) for the final goal. Rooney seemed disappointed by his substitution. He didn't have the greatest of games, got a goal but his tracking back and ball winning was his particular highlight. Carrick again seemed to grow in confidence at CB and Valencia again showed improvements. Not too sure about Oberton yet but I can see promise, I think the lad just needs to bulk up a bit, seems too lightweight for the EPL. My man of the match has to go to Evra with special mentions to Vidic. Again rocks in defence and some of Evra's runs were dazzling. I hope for some further improvements as this kind of performance was good against smaller clubs but would not hold out against the top teams, not to take away from the result mind.

Hence why they were up for the award, I'm just taking it from what the beeb say. They say regardless of achievement the awards goes to those "Voted for by the public live during the TV show, this prestigious award will be given to the sportsman or woman whose actions have most captured the public's imagination in 2009." Reference.
-
Yes, it's exactly the same. Only Button didn't do it at the age of 36 at the end of his career and did do it with a massive advantage at the start of the season. Regardless this award is not about achievement, it's about personality.
-
I suppose it would have to be his hunger for more success and his drive despite his age, he's not going to drop to a smaller club to get a first team place he's maintained the highest standards. I guess that's why he won.
-
I agree that it would seem somewhat of a lifetime achievement award however I'm just going to take it from what the beeb say. The award goes to those that have the greatest sports personality, not necessarily the most successful. To quote the BBC, they award it to him for "... actions [that] have most captured the public's imagination" and I'm not going to argue with them about that. It is for this reason he has the award, he didn't score the most goals or win the most trophies but he had the greatest personality.

What has Ryan Giggs done in the past year? Reached 150 goals for his club Levelled Raul's record for scoring in 14 champions League campaigns. Reached 100 EPL goals. And won this small trophy. Your right, he did nothing to deserve it....
-
He's the most decorated player in English football history with a huge domestic and continental career and the most appearances ever for a player at a club with one of the most competitive first team places. He also has a very good disciplinary record having never received a red as a united player. Not too bad for a 36 year old. But lets throw our toys out of our pram and strip him of this award! Down with Thatcher!
-
It's all very easy to say things such as "shit song" however you can't fault the guy for achieving what he wanted. It might not be the best out there but it will sell and hopefully he can use this to build a career. He's got a fantastic voice which really showed when they both sang the same song.

Where does Steve Bruce find his signings? I know some come recommended from Wenger but some he seems just to pick out of nowhere.

Just been watching ITV and for once they talked some sense. Take 4 strikers to WC, they claim that really only 2 get played. That leaves 2 who never really get a run. Obviously you are going to take Rooney and a big man (Heskey?) but what about the other two. Bent? Defoe? C. Cole? still have Crouch? For me even if you loose a player else where and maybe take 5 strikers there has to be a place for Owen. If your going to take Beckham for his delivery then you take Owen for his finishing.
-
So in reflection, can England afford to ignore Michael Owen?

I don't think Gabby's height is the only thing which would threaten G Nev, I'm thinking it might be something to do with his explosive pace.

That transfer is very confusing, they claim he maybe doesn't have the talent of the likes of Davide Petrucci and other young united players who play in his position however the club have done nothing but hype him up. I was very much looking forward to seeing him in a united shirt since he seemed to have much potential and I can't help but think that this is somehow motivated by money. A new January transfer target possibly? We know Ferguson is still looking at Denkzo (sp?) and Defour and there is the constant speculation over Villa (would Rooney or Berbs really sit on the bench?) and Silva.

Exam tomorrow Spend the last few days revising and just stopped for today, I think if I did any more at the moment it just wouldn't work. I'm really 50/50 for it, it's either going to go great or not well at all. Hummmmmm. Edit : Chair, that is freaky as.
