Has anybody who already has theirs been able to confirm if the update is live yet?
-
I emailed TNT and they sent me a tracking number that works. Mine is on a truck somewhere but not been delivered yet, so im stuck at work refreshing the tracking page wishing it was 5:30!
-
Just as a counter, I pre-paid and mine is listed as shipped. I've preordered and bought many items from shopto over the last 3 or 4 years and never known them to be anything less than first class for service, as opposed to play, amazon, zavvi and game where i've had things take up to a week later than the release date!
-
Well my tracking number still isn't working as well so looks like the dream of getting it early is over, but that still leaves just one more day of waiting (then a REALLY long day at work knowing it's waiting for me when I finish).

Just had shipping confirmation too

Wii U Launch Day Buyers: What's your plan of action?
Ealdst replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Get home from work, set up console, do all updates then explore the menus a little, then it's straight in with Mario and later Zombi U. Then it will be a similar thing Saturday until my girlfriend finishes work and comes round then I'll break out Nintendo Land. -
Although it has been mentioned a few times I feel Zack & Wiki has not been given nearly enough love in this thread, absolutely loved that game. Would also like to see sequels to: Muramasa: The Demon Blade Little King's Story A Boy and His Blob Mario Strikers Charged Pandora's Tower Xenoblade Chronicles And for something different would love to see a sequel to Mischief Makers

Just had the email to say my order is being processed
-
Still not got an email yet , but then I have paid mine off early anyway tonight so might be why.
-
I wouldn't be too worried, I've preordered lots through Shopto and they've never let me down yet. I'm not expecting to get the console any earlier than Friday so even if it turns up Thursday it'll be a pleasant surprise. They have probably started processing some orders early just to make sure they all go through in time, and they just haven't got to our orders yet!
-
Hopefully they will, there's been a couple of xbla games I've bought that I probably wouldn't have even considered without playing the demo, it's quite a good marketing tool for the less high profile downloads!
-
I take it noone has had Shopto start to process their order today then? Was eagerly awaiting an email all day while at work to say it was going to be dispatched soon but it never came . It's starting to get really exciting now.....just.....1.....week!
-
Has there been any word if there'll be demos for all download only titles like there are on Xbox Live Arcade games?
-
It's time to decide - post your launch game choices!

Definitely Getting: ZombiU Nintendo Land New Super Mario Bros U In addition to these I might pick up Trine 2 on the eshop. I'll also pick up Arkham City (specifically held off of the 360 version to play on WiiU) and Assassins Creed 3 (need to play Revelations first tho) when my funds have recovered slightly! Also have Lego City Undercover and Pikmin 3 pre-ordered for whenever they come out, and I'm interested in picking up Scribblenauts and Wonderful 101 too. In summary I'm not gonna be short of things to play until Zelda/3D Mario comes out! -
Glad everyone is getting a confirmation for launch day, I got mine too . Mentioned it to my gf (not usually one for gaming stuff) and she was actually pretty excited too, wanting to play Nintendoland!
-
I kinda feel bad for passing on the information now for anyone that may have lost their preorder slot, here's hoping there's some good news later in the week from shopto.
-
I've taken the risk and changed my order, I guess if you do miss launch tho their pre-order promise says they will give you £5 credit!
-
Don't know if anyone has seen the new bundles shopto.net are offering: ZombiU WiiU bundle + Nintendo Land + New Super Mario Bros U - £369.85 Afraid I can't post a link as I havn't made enough posts yet but just go on the WiiU's recently added section, there are a few other bundles with other games included too.

I'm assuming you played with full driving assists on? If you play with no traction control or ABS assists analogue control is essential, otherwise you will just spin the car every time you try to accelerate. The lack of analogue triggers is the only worry for me with the gamepad unless the system can support existing USB wheels.

Wii U Approaches: Backlog Battle!
Ealdst replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Ok, I've just bought Little King's Story and No More Heroes 2 to add to my backlog, I'm banking on finishing alot of things between WiiU games too tho as still have Epic Mickey, Donkey Kong Country Returns, New Super Mario Bros Wii, A boy and His Blob, A Shadow's Tale, A Boy and His Blob, Kirby's Epic Yarn and Metroid Prime Trilogy to finish, and that's not including the Virtual Console titles laying about half done or not started, and I still need to buy Metroid Other M too! Anyway I'm just getting to the end of Okami, at the risk of starting an angry mob I have to say I haven't enjoyed it as much as I though I would! The game world is beautiful and the game is good, but I find the brush techniques can be way too fussy and it really takes the fun out sometimes. Namely the wind technique that never seems to blow in the direction I draw the gesture...maybe it's just me who sucks tho :p -
1. Why are you buying the console? Same as most people here, I've always loved Nintendo games. 2. Has this differed from previous console generations? I bought the Wii day one, that was the first console I had from launch, but I have all Nintendo platforms except the Virtual Boy so launch day purchase is slightly different, buying it was inevitable 3. Do you expect your attachment rate (how many games you buy for the machine IIRC correctly) to be high? Yes and no, I want to buy every game that interests me, but I do not have the time to play games as I used to anymore, and also over the next year I will be needing to buy a new car and save up for my first house (not to mention the outgoings that come once I have one) so I may not be able to afford the games I'd usually buy. 4. Do you plan on getting one of the future iterations of the other consoles? I'm not planning on it, I have enjoyed the Xbox 360 this generation up until about a year or so ago when it became apparent that Microsoft are much more interested in the multimedia centre aspect of their business model than the games, the last 2 E3 press conferences have spent increasing amounts of time on things like TV services, internet browsing etc and the only games they seem to push are CoD and lots of Kinect shovelware (to be fair, I like Kinect in theory but the application just doesn't work as well as the idea). Nintendo are a games company and I have faith that they will stick with games first and foremost, the other stuff makes a nice extra but I buy a console to play games, not watch TV!

VOTE: N-Europe's Top 25 Wii Games! (THANKYOU!)
Ealdst replied to Retro_Link's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Thanks D_prOdigy, my choice of Xenoblade is surprising to me as I never thought anything would top Skyward Sword, and as I alluded to in my comments I usually like JRPGs for a bit then get bored with their general grindy nature, Xenoblade however had me hooked 'til the end and I would have started a second playthrough already if I didn't have so many unfinished games sitting on the shelf. All in all this was a surprisingly hard list to come up with, when I started I thought it would be easy then suddenly I had only 4 spots left and a lot of games to fill them with, I still can't believe the popular opinion amongst gamers is that the Wii has no games just lots of shovelware! -

10 - Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure - The only bad thing about this game is that there was never a sequel made utilizing Wii Motion Plus....okay and maybe the voices can get annoying too! This is a fantastic take on the adventure game formula that deserves to be in everyone's game collection. 9 - No More Heros - I still remember the first time I saw the original trailer for this game, it was one of those few trailers that had me sold straight away. Luckily the game was not a disappointment with its great humour and over the top slash em up fights, not to mention some of the best bosses I can remember. Unfortunately the tediousness of the between mission gameplay does hurt the game slightly, but in a strange way it's also part of the quirky appeal. 8 - Pandora's Tower - This game sums up the Wii for me, a great game that noone outside of the Nintendo faithful has probably even heard of. This is one of those games to point out to the Wii's critics that say the Wii has nothing worth playing, a game that really made me care about what happens to the characters. A game that actually makes great use of the time limit, this is the first game I've ever played where I really wanted to explore but couldn't relax enough such was the connection the game gave with Elena. The overall combat may be a little repetitive stopping this being higher in my list but the boss battles were superb, offering a puzzle as well as a pressured battle trying to dodge attacks while keeping an eye on the timer. 7 - Super Mario Kart Wii - One of the few games that just about everyone likes to play (along with Wii Sports), I wasn't a fan of the bikes in this one, and I think the blue shell should be redesigned to make it fairer (anyone who has constantly been hit by one on the last corner of the last lap when on 150cc mode I'm sure will agree), but when all is said and done you can't help but love those moments when you perfectly time the POW block to send your best friends off the edge of Rainbow Road, and nailing someone with a perfectly aimed green shell at medium to long range is one of the most satisfying things in any game. 6 - Donkey Kong Country Returns - All aboard the nostalgia train! This game took me back to my younger days more so than any of the New Super Mario Bros Games have, from the music to the fiendish difficulty. The only thing missing was an underwater level with Aquatic Ambiance playing. 5 - Wii Sports/Wii Sports Resort - I list these together as I couldn't think which one to put in the list. Not the deepest of game experiences but just unbeatable good fun with some friends and isn't that one of the main reasons we all play games? 4 - Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Super Mario Galaxy was an awesome 3D platformer and looked so good that it wouldn't have been out of place on the PS3 or Xbox 360, then a sequel comes along that gives more of the same with a few extras and adds Yoshi into the mix, proving you can't have too much of a good thing! 3 - Muramasa: The Demon Blade - Brilliant art style that shows with careful design HD can infact be completely unnecessary to make a gorgeous game. 2 - Zelda: Skyward Sword - The game everyone wanted when the Wii was first announced, trully showed that Nintendo did mean to revolutionise how games were played with the Wii remote. 1 - Xenoblade Chronicles - This game surprised me at just how much I enjoyed it. Beautiful game world, all likable characters and a game that you could waste away hours playing. Never got tedious like I usually find most JRPGs do. Honourable mentions: A boy and his Blob, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Monster Hunter Tri, House of the Dead: Overkill, Madworld, Punch Out!, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, A Shadow's Tale, The Last Story, Little King's Story, Okami.
