  1. Actually that could all be done very easily. Instead of loading new firmwares perhaps the disc just activates one of many firmwares that are already on the wii. I Think dork may be on to something here
  2. Sure so long as they are AA batteries (I think that's what they take).
  3. THEY HIT EACH OTHER!!! This is all I have wanted since stadium came out. Having your pokemon jump and fall on the ground to "attack" the other side was a bit... lame.
  4. o.O If that is the case I with draw my previous statement and insert a "Use freaking quotes damnit!" in it's place :p
  5. Spell? Mind pointing my mistakes out to me? As for caps NDA should be in caps since it stands for Non Disclosure Agreement N.D.A. (sorry I forgot the periods ) "Nothing" was in caps to emphasize that there was little known in the time frames I was referring to. My apologies if my typing offended you >_>
  6. No specs out on the net are from nintendo. If someone else has specs then an NDA was broken somewhere. Given the fact that we knew NOTHING about the controller or the name until nintendo dropped the bombs.... well maybe you see where I am going.
  7. You weren't. I just took what you said about the virtual boy being able to be moved around and played with it's own screen and applied it to the xbox. Humor my friend
  8. Actually I was trying to imply that you were saying the xbox was portable :p Whatever, I will go to my grave saying the virtual boy was not a portable console due to the sit down and play nature of the system as opposed to the move around and play ability of a gba/ds/psp/gp2x/etc...
  9. http://www.nextag.com/Intec-5-4-inch-57330915/prices-html What say you?
  10. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Virtual_Boy_kit.jpg It was a home console. NO ONE is gonna carry that around with them. It may have been some kind of attempt at a portable console but it failed at that. It was a home console.
  11. Yes actually. At a store back when I was... 10? 8 maybe? I didn't like it. Had to put my face so close to it, small screen, red was the only color, controller was difficult to use (I was 8ish so that might have been a reason), eyes started to hurt after 10-20 min of gaming, game selection was sub par, couldn't hook it up to a TV, etc... Look up a few lines :p
  12. Sounds like the ps2 port of RE4 :p Unless you can prove you develope for these systems you can't say it's in another league. Just lowering the resolution (720p to 480p) would greatly reduce the hardware needed to push it.
  13. the problem with it only supporting wep is that it lowers the standard for the rest of your network (a VERY valid point). This is why I do not play my DS online from home. If the wii does not support wpa then I will be getting a cat5 adapter... just had some of the house wired for it anyway :p
  14. Actually the wii should come in at about the power of a 1st gen mac mini (the ~1ghz model) plus some architecture optimizations. 360 is like a 3 cpu (slightly reduced cpus) g5 tower and the cell is about a 1 (slightly reduced) g5 tower plus 7 small cpus with no real equvilant as they hare highly specialized.
  15. Software != Hardware What you were saying (or at least what I read) was that the wii uses software to interperate the calls on the hardware. This is false as the wii hardware runs gamecube code without the need for emulation software.
  16. Eh... not quite. Software emulation requires more power than hardware compatability. It's actually a really big difference :p
  17. Seems as if lighting and transparensy effects are the only difference... only difference I can see anyway.
  18. Fact: As time goes on hardware becomes smaller and faster (see Pentium 1 die vs Pentium 2/3/4/core 2 die). The wii is an enhanced gamecube. Same chip architecture just faster and with more functions (retains all older functions). This allows for a perfect hardware compatability since all software calls on the hardware can be answered without software that would be needed to interperate the calls. Example: A software call on the xbox to display 1 polygon in an arbitary position would not be recognized on a gamecube/ps2/etc... since the hardware is different the code would have to be re-writen. Now the wii is simply an expanded gamecube design (think pentium 2 ---> pentium 3 type transition) the same code runs without need for software emulation and there is also a greater hardware capacity. Thus no extra hardware is needed since the base hardware of the wii is compatable with gamecube code
  19. Wii will not emulate the cube via software. All the cube hardware is in place to have hardware compatibility.
  20. It's america. Land of whitre trash and sueing. Of course it could happen.
  21. STFU! Trigger is beautiful! :p No actually it really is. Even though it is limited to 2d sprites the art direction is wonderful. Sure some of the fancy "3d" effects (used for some spells) are simple geometric figures... I was going somewhere.... meh it's beautiful!
  22. wario ware > mario party I got board of that board game shell in mario party 3 :/
  23. Aye, max payne is awsome. I played the shit out of number 2 but alas that is a game designed to be played on a computer and there is shall be played
  24. Nope, a third has also been confirmed.
