^ Bullshit. That goes against the whole "we are a gaming company" moto that nintendo lives by.

The Snes was more powerful than the genesis. Dreamcast had less power than the ps2. The GBA had no real competitors. Now if you want to bring in other gaming systems from companies not in the large market (sega, nintendo, sony and microsoft) then the Neo-Geo was less powerful than the snes the Jaguar was less powerful than the ps1.
-
Powerful is a relative term. Would you call a Ford T series (first mass produced car) powerful when compaired to today's cars? Yet it still beats walking. Lucky for nintendo this is not the car market.

Maybe nintendo will pull an apple and announce it and have it for sale the same day. I can dream

Havok FX is not "true" physics. It is simply effects physics (the new objects don't interact with anything) so this will be used for dust, water, etc... things that do not need to interact with the rest of the game world.
-
Fixed that for ya :p Also physics calculations would require much more than a few extensions to the flipper. This is a whole new chip.

If brawl is using the melee engine (I hear rumors of this) then every level from melee should be able to be dropped into brawl without any editing. Here's hopeing

I like my wires thank you very much. I was refering more to the idea of it having a dongle like the 360. That alone would not sway ANYONE'S opinion of the wii It's more of a nice extra than a system maker.

http://japanese.engadget.com/2006/06/30/wii-ps3-mockups/ There are some ps3 and wii compairisons

Indeed unless that is some major spin being put on those words :p

'heh and I'm just sharing mine opinion :p

Well... his pros no perfect either :P 1. Good pro 2. Good pro 3. Moot (every console has it) 4. Speculation 5. Speculation 6. Good pro 7. Good pro 8. Good pro 9. Not sure why it matters (IMO) 10. Good pro 11. As it stands all we know about it is that it keeps the wii online. Thus any pros are speculation 12. Moot (developer dependent) Sorry to tear your pros and cons appart but read over your stuff before posting to make sure it is clear and as you want it.

Well I did a bit of research on CRI http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CRI_Middleware And from what I can tell I think the CRI middle ware will mainly be used for virtual console games. The CRI ROFS is an image management system (think CD ISOs) so I presume that the only images needed will be those of virtual console games (since wii games will have the real disk present). Reading ADX and Sound Factory further my belife since they seem to be aimed at low cpu usage and simpliciy (real wii games will still need to be complex to take full advantage of hardware). Sofdec is an interesting one for one reason, it claims multistreaming. I am not really sure what that is but I would guess it means streaming being able to have more than one game world on screen at once (again virtual console since wii games will by in large be to stressing on the hardware to have two of them at once). Nice to have more middleware available but I think it will be used more for virtual console games than new games. It should also be noted that almost no games are made using middleware. Anyway hope this has been a help and remember it's just my view that nintendo wanted this for VC uses

Points 1 and 5 are the same for the cons as are 2 and 4 :p

Wireless router where you can turn the wireless off?
SpinesN replied to Twozzok's topic in General Chit Chat
All routers (that I know of) for use in homes or small offices have 4 ethernet ports. As for turning off the wireless every router SHOULD have this. That will simply be in the settings for the router. I know netgear DOES support turning off the raido if that helps. -
Just snapped these pics a few seconds ago. Please enjoy Pics: No I don't know what those libraries are (specifically) and yes that is my hand :p

The wavebirds didn't use any snycing since you had to manually sync them (put the controller and reciver on the same frequency). Since the wii has the reciver on the inside you need a sny button to tie a controller to the system. As for the hole it is more than likely for air flow.
-
Sensor bar I believe.

If they last as long as a wavebird I don't care.

I totally agree but what I am saying is that due to the nature of dreamcast disks (forget even trying to emulate it for now) the inner tracks read like that of a regular CD. If the wii began reading this disk it would read the CD data and when the change in pit density (when thay become packed closer together) the wii would have no clue and simple assume the disk ended. Now if there was some kind of marker in the CD portion of the dreamcast disk that could tell the wii "this is a dreamcast disk" it could read it properly. Still I'm not sure such a marker exists. If a marker like that does exist then it's solved. If not some kind of software would indeed be needed, but, that raises costs and requires developers to look back through all dreamcast games and see if any would be missed with the software method.

Yes it's called the "USB Mass Storage" driver >.>
-
Actually since the wii is backwards compatable with the cube based on hardware it does not see the difference between a gamecube and a wii game since the same instructions are used in the code. Code on wii games will simply use new functions that have been added in the wii.

Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)
SpinesN replied to EchoDesiato's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Umm.... you can go through the water temple in the wrong order (I have done it many times). That temple is just annoying because you get lost VERY easily and those keys are DAMN hard to find. I went through the water temple guidless since I got the nintendo offical one which read like a book... "Link grabs the key from this room and leaves it"..... where in the room? they never tell you -_- -
I know speed is not a problem. I was just thinking that if there were no marker it would be impossible since the first section (inner tracks) of the DC disk are that of a regular CD so unless there was a marker the wii would simply read the CD data and be done with it.

Ummm.... USB mass storage drivers.... they cover USB memory sticks, USB hard drives, and anything else that is properly configured to be a USB mass storage device.
