  1. Ah the good ol' days of hanging around arcades all day - (now the playground of pedaphiles the world over) they gave us all great joy - back in the day. I remember getting a quid off my parents 70p would see me complete Double Dragon (god bless that powerfull elbow move!) and the other 30p would get me about quarter of the way through Golden Axe. Also spent many a 10p's worth on the fantastic StarWars "sit in cabinet" game - there's nothing quite like blowing up the Death Star in full Isometric goodness and then going for some canned Space Invaders in tomato sauce at yer Grans! yep them were the days indeed.
  2. I was mostly playing these on my Megadrive back then... Desert & Jungle Strike RoboCop Vs Terminator StreetFighter II CE Jurassic Park Flashback Sonic 1 & 2 SplatterHouse 2 Mortal Kombat II Where In Time is Carmen Sandiego MegaGames 2 (Streets of Rage, Rev of Shinobi, Golden Axe) Streets of Rage 2 Another World and many more.......
  3. Playing a 1 level demo of Space Crusade that I got on a covertape of Amstrad Action way back in the 80's. Space Crusade was a turn-based style game. I was fighting "The Dreadnought" which was basically an ED209 ripoff. once it moved towards my position the cpus go had ended and now it was mine. I was cacking myself as my mate kept telling me that it was the most feared enemy in the entire game! I killed it in ONE GO by closing a door right through it! Ha ha silly begger shouldn't sit half in half out! Let that be a lesson to us all
  4. No Don't ... Go for the best bang for buck you can afford (official or otherwise) - any manufacturer is prone to issues... Hell I even had a 1Gig Compact Flash by SanDisk crap out on me...and I like my SanDisk... Offial aint always the "perceived best"...however I always root for the underdog!
  5. GO FOR IT Never had any issues with my 3rd part "Pro Play 64Mb Card"

  7. WOW another day another list.. I gave my collection a good look over and discovered that - SHOCK HORROR! I only have 10 GC any way! Here they are in order of preference: P.S. I so want Tales of Symphonia but I can never get it at a decent price..its always on ebay but its the NTSC version...bah! Zelda: Wind Waker Metroid Prime Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem Resident Evil 4 Star Wars: Rebel Strike III Resident Evil Star Wars: Rogue Leader James Bond: Everything or Nothing TRUE CRIME: Streets of L.A. I've highighted GC exclusives..I only wish that more GC games were sold in the pre-owned budget range in the same volumes as PS2 software titles.... That way I'd have way more games - like F-Zero, Metroid Prime II and Resident Evil 0. Only 5 more to go and I'll have the same amount of Wii games...now thats scary!
  8. Yer damn right its The Megadrive! The first game I played on it was Desert Strike and I immediately fell in love. One of my most prized momments was saving up the cash and getting a 2nd hand version of StreetFighter II for a steal of £24.00 For a kid that was a lotta saved up pocket money. Yes it true I stayed loyal to the Megadrive, I stayed loyal to the "technically weaker" console becaue it had gameplay titles that interested me at prices that were more accessible to me at the time. Its wierd i was so strapped for cash in those days I could actually outplay people using the MD's orig 3-button pad on SF2 Having cosole ports released on the Megdrive don;t really phase me regards the machines integrity; SEGA created it to bring the arcade experience to the home market. God bless: Ryu, Axel, Robocop & his Terminator chum, Carmen Sandiego, Sonic, Bubsy, Flashback's Conrad Hart, Strider, Axe Battler, Shinobi, That "dude" from Another World, ECCO, Chakken, Wolverine, JP's Alan Grant, The Cyborgs from Cyborg Justice, and not forgetting the "unamed hero copter pilot" from EA's Strike series!
  9. Rights here's my memory lane list: ATARI: AstroWars AMSTRAD CPC: Robocop Amstrad GX4000: Robocop 2 Megadrive: Streets Of Rage 2 PC: Monkey Island GameCube: Zelda: WindWaker PS2: Metal Gear Solid 2 DS: Mario 64 PSP: GTA: Vice City Stories Wii: Zelda: Twilight Princess
  10. I own this game! I love this game (see my SEGA Classics games post) the nusic at the end was always one of my fav pieces of music and the pumping intro is very cool also> Love it!
  11. As a SEGA lover - I was all over the Megadrive in its hey day! When the real (and original) format turf wars were fought... Fought not in today's reactive blogs and forum sites but in the playgrounds and parks of our youth - where it ment so much more. Ah... God bless the early 90's. Here's some love from that era.... Sonic 1/2/3 - but especially 2 (Sonic 2sday - who remembers that?). Streets of Rage 1/2/3 - but especially 2. Thunderforce IV - beautifull graphics/beutifull music. Desert Strike: Return to the Gulf. Jungle Strike. Urban Strike (to a lesser degree). Flashback. Another World. Robocop Vs. Terminator. Earthworm Jim 1/2. Streetfighter 2: Championship Edition. RoadRash 2 - Wild Thing 2000 Yeehaa. ComixZone. Prince of Persia. Pitfall: The Myan Adventure. Golden Axe 1/2/3. Mortal Kombat 2. Revenge of Shinobi. Strider. Gunstar Hero's. Alienstorm - remember that?
  12. Hi have 3! - Woohoo Just add me peeps and let me know and I'll do the same.
  13. So much so that I've replaced the Batts twice and got a charger for my Christmas!
  14. Yeah I get that too sometimes...the controls will just seem to spaz out. It started off at the start of mission 2 (I tjhink its mision 2" when you have to hide behind the tank at first and run across the field. They just seemed to go haywore...I've been lucky tho and only went round in circles.. Its a pain when it infrequntly happens - but I'd still recommened the game.. I find my questionable ability to throw grenades precisely the way they should be thrown more of a pain - but then thats my bad - not the Wii's
  15. I bagged: Zelda (ofcourse) Red Steel Call of Duty 3 Want Raving Rabbids (but £34.99 for mini games) - I just don't know, WarioWare is the only Mini-Game brand that has successfully made me pay top dollar for such titles.Mind You then I culd get some multiplayer between Me Vs vader Vs R2.
  16. Exactly what what I was thinking - this better not be PS2 graphics with a Wii control scheme...come on 3rd parties - get using the Wii clockcycles - stop leaving it to Ninty all the time... And no I'm not a graphics whore - but I did migrate to the next gen for more than a new control scheme. (altho the weather channel is a close 2nd)
  17. Wii - If its good enough for Vader then it's good enough for everyone!
  18. Feel free to add me...and I will add you..go on..you know you want to..so far I only have 1 Mii runing about ....and thats Mii!
  19. Congrats to all those who have been returning your Multi-Wii's as the pre-orders have started trickling through - Reggie would be proud. Well I claimed my Wii from Amazon as many know (last Moday) and last night was when my Batteries decided to give up the ghost. I had been playing WindWaker (currently in the dungeon where you have to reflect light with the harp). Went to start playing another GC game - and to my horror my Wiimote stoped working..no manner of re-synching was helping...But alas my girlfriend had the good sense to point out about new batteries. TishTosh I thought I aint played that much CoD3 and RedSteel and def nothing much of TP (saving myself for after WindWaker is complete). But low and behold....she was right.. I reckon she's been sneaking extra gameage when I'm not there!
  20. I assumed this was the case however like "Tony Cabrony" mines didn't! After I added my e-mail addresses (I waited 3 days with nothing at all) I decided to e-mail my Wii directly instead and then I got 2 mails each back from the Wii. The one that should have came days ago And the second "forced e-mail" It seems I needed to invoke the service by sending an e-mail from each e-mail client first back to the Wii before I got any correspondance at all. This is why I am replying these threads - maybe others are having the same problems as me - this is how I fixed mine.
  21. Ah a but see... I didn't know that once you entered an e-mail address into the Wii - you then had to send an e-mail to the Wii from said PC based e-mail in order to acticate it. I thought all you had to do was enter an e-mail address into the Wii and it sent a request to the recipient asking for permission!
  22. Thanks everyone for their help - I've got it all working now (and can see my mistake) Right so lets see (incase others are daft like me) Yes you have to add e-mail contacts into your address book i.e. hot, gmail, yahoo etc. (However I thought the system would then send them an e-mail automatically asking for their acceptance) NO You then have to send an e-mail FROM these "added address" to your Wii. The Wii then send a message back to each one asked for permission. WOW - Easy as that! Now I have a Flashy Blue Light Cool!
  23. WOW - I'm having absolutely ZERO sucess with this at all! WiiConnect 24 always connects Registered 2 e-mails address (Hotmail & Yahoo) Nothing has come through at all (3 days now) Deleated and re-added the addresses and still nothing.... This really sucks - I can see Angry Nintendo Nerd ripping into this when he's about 180.
  24. OK I'll admit it - I have played a bit of Zelda TP (couldn't resist) ut only as far as the orig Gamespot playtest (the vid when they first got their Wii). So basically I've hearded cattle and thats it. So they disc is def there martinist - but yeah that would suck if it wasn't
  25. I've noticed a slight change to the "jingle" when I start Windwaker in the Wii that is slightly diff to when I started it with my orif GC. Yes - I;ve not completed it yet (bought it quite late on...and saving Twilight Princess till I do! Its sitting there all shiny and new teasing me...
