Far from. The analysts believe Sony is lying. And they've got reason to assume this. Check http://biz.gamedaily.com/industry/feature/?id=14540

The european Wii launch is looking to be a MESS
Jasper replied to darthbane2k's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Scart only got on here in Europe, and I thought American televisions just don't have SCART. So, TV's aren't thà t Region-free... -
Estimates for PS3 are 150,000 to 175,000 in America says the analysts (check biz.GameDaily.com), and that includes the units that are just for demoing in the stores. So yes, those numbers are wrong...

Spoiler-Free The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Thread

Sadly enough, the tracks sound strangely MIDI. In game, this isn't a prolem (I loved all Zelda music up to now), but on it's own, MIDI jsut doesn't stand out enough... Great trakcs, though... -
Cack is the worst word ever. And what's the deal with composite? There's no problem here using it. Not stop wyning and buy your component if you want them, buy your RGB when you want to and stop moaning. BTW: All cables in 'video displays explianed' topic.

Woops. Thought it just popped up on the internet. Forget that HOAX thing. It's not a typo - it would be strange if it's a typo - they don't make these kind of typo's, because the EDTV/HDTV-possible things are also images provided by Nintendo. Ubisoft doesn't make these things. So you all better sob a little over the loss of this game. Because I don't know if it will work... But can a game be made ONLY for these resolutions? I refuse to beleive this, as the Wii will probably just read the discs anyway. Someone email Michel Ancel. Or Yves Guillemot. Or Iwata - yeah, mail him, start with the big boss...

The european Wii launch is looking to be a MESS

Did you ask how much Wii's they're getting to retail in the Benelux on December 8th? Man, why does everyone forget the obvious questions? And by the way, what happened to gameplay and no-nonsense-whatsoever if it's not gameplay approach? We're all babbling about fucking cables. It's a Matt-Cassamassina all over again. I trust that guy, but he's way to used to great graphics. I, myself, have yet to see what HD is for the future, but for now I'm quite content with composite. The comparison shpwn today just illustrates that component is just aa brightness-higher image. Doesn't make to much diference at all. certainly not on my 15" 10-year old TV. But that's just me. -
A typo on a box? perhaps a hoax, yes, but a Typo? I think these things are provided by Nintendo themselves. But hell, we'll just see - it's the first we hear or see of this and no site or magazine mentioned it before. Probably a hoax.

The european Wii launch is looking to be a MESS
Jasper replied to darthbane2k's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Isn't just the picture good enough for a sleazy week? You'll enjoy Wii just as much, so don't be a baby and cry about it... It's only for a week and it's only a mlnor difference. Not the whole launch that's destroyed right now. By The Way: Anyone who knows what affects these RGB cables have anyway? Are they like the component cables? I'm thinking of buying it (but there no rush or need for it), but if it doesn't mean squat i'm not spending my ka-tching on it. -

So an entire launch based on component cables is going to be a mess? I really can't follow you on that one... Just wait for your cables - they're needed in America right now and we're second to America. Why can't you just be fond of being able to play Wii instead of talking about those screwed-up cables all the time? And no, a launch without cables is no failure. Except if no cables are avaible and there's no way to connect to your TV. Wich would suck, but wich won't happen. Now let's all be quit and eat our dinner - and wait our time to Wii. -
I'm sure this is a set-up. Why the hel would anybody film that? Only if he knew that he would get a N64-kid like behaviour on film and then could post it on the web. I do hope this kid doesn't get greedy and sells his Wii on the net in ten years from now because he's the 'Wii-Kid'. Nice to watch, though - although I'de rather have bein in his ploace than sitting here and wait.

Wasn't there a 60Hz only seal on Metroid Prime 2 too? This could be something like that. Then again, I never really understood the concept of EDTV so i don't really now if I have it. But it would be stupid to pull this on consumers if HDTV and EDTV are not yet really in the houses. Ah well.

I'm having difficulties with the fact that everything is moving. The Component ones seem much more stretched and bigger. I agree it must be hard to get two the same images, but even then. Oh, the super moneky ball one is just plain crap. Those colors can't be right. And now we're on it: does anyone know what the RGB cable does? the same thing as component? i'm thinking of getting one, but I don't know if it would be worth spending the €20 on it...

I had that too. It really is the start of the Intel Chime. Nintendo stole it... Great adds, though, but that sound had me thinking the intel chime too...

Trying to get my left hand going, but with Zelda it will be problematic. i'm right-handed, but what the heck. At lest I could give it a go and an extra challenge...

Spoiler-Free The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Thread
Jasper replied to Tellyn's topic in Nintendo Gaming
And again, you're getting that and the rest of Europe is left in the soaking cold rain. God damn you. Wish I could get my grubby mitts on that... It looks as if I'm going to cry if that doesn't get a release in Belgium. Oh, anyone know what happened to pre-order bonusses at Nintendo? The Wind Waker at least had that neat extra proving that you were the first in the line to buy that thing... -
I didn't even hang the huge Zelda poster. It's a piece of paper for God's sake! Read the damned magazine. Everybody is talking about the free posters, why not about what's inside? I've got NGamer as my monthly magazine because I love their witty writing and their incredible foolish child-like behavior. And now, after years of boring NGC, I like the new look that's more Gamerish and, erm, much more intensive for the designers to get finished. But I'm having trouble with the fact that these magazines seem to lose content. It's still a whopping 116 pages, but after two days I have read almost everything and it goes in the cupboard where it doesn't leave untill I go bathing nd need something to keep my time passing (closing my eyes doesn't work for me, i can't sleep or relax in that matter). And when I read it, I have the feeling everything is back there. As if I read it before. Very frustrating to know that you sort-of burry the magazine after two days untill the next arrives to spend two days of reading again. I'm looking forward to the 6th of December (and probably a little earlier as subscriber that I am) to see what they made out of Zelda and the Wii Hardware breakdown. Twelve days and counting...

Why didn't they go with Stars in the first place? it would at least have made sense. It was already the worldwide Nintendo currency. Oh wait, i see, there is no user login avaible, so your stars couldn't be transfered. Still, I miss it because I have about 2000 stars that I never traded in because screensavers don't seem to work on my Mac (at least you could have done that) and the print-and-iron-on-t-shirt-paper is more expensive than actually buying a game with it. The star catalogue was crap, at least they could have done this... Sad.

Is it me or does that site look a hell like now-gone Lik-Sang? And i'm not attractive by half-naked, muscled black men next to the product I wasn't going to purchase at ll. Worst marketing-trick ever, since girls are not the most gamers...

It was certainly a great game on GameCube and it was a sleeper hit. Not a commercial succes, but a great game nevertheless. Number two would be great - and if Michel Ancel just developed it exclusively for Wii - the first of the series sold best om Nintendo consoles anyway - it would be even better. It's certainly a candidate to battle Zelda. But I hope they're not translaating the voices again. I live in Flanders (Belgium, the Dutch-speaking part) and the voices were dubbed in Dutch, somewhat ruining the game for me. But the prospect of a new edition looks great. UbiSoft certainly has bein wowing me, showing that they're up for it to make great games. They have good ideas and I believe them when they say they want to be the second biggest third-party in the world. I can certainly understand the statement and if they continue to create so rich content and original titles, I will probably support them in becoming one. And, off course, I'm European and I'de love this European publisher to make our market a little more attractive.

Off course we will. Anyouma is perfectly suited to take voer Miyamoto's tasks for Zelda, and Miyamoto is training several people to take over his tasks. Nintendo won't go in demise without Miyamoto. And I seriously doubt that Miyamoto will have nothing to do with Mario games after retirement. I think that it's going to be great, even with Miyamoto gone. On Topic: Nintendo won't use it's assets to buy exclusivity. That's what Sony does, that's what Microsoft does, but not Nintendo. Nintendo has powerfull franchises and those are mroe important to them. And of course; the shareholders want their part of this... So no money to throw around, I guess. Lucky Yamauchi, he's filthy rich. So rich, he can wear leather as skin.

Seems great. I hope shops out here get the same shipmeents and the same results. And of course, io mostly hope that I can make that result happen. Thirteen days and counting!

Even though, the real thrill is gone. You have to be honest, the first zelda you played was great - the first 3D zelda was an experience further. But after that things get quite predictable. I hope Twilight Princess can prove it's worth. That it can get your nekhairs standing right up. like reading a fantastic book and feeling the tears flow from your eyes. There are only a few games that can make you feel as if you landed in a dream and you don't want to wake up. But the real magic is gone. I blame realism. Ocarina of Time was great, even though it wasn't visualy as attractive as the Wind Waker. But the thing is: you felt it was a game. The graphics told you that it was a game - and your imagination did the rest. Now games get so realistic, that you don't really need your imagination anymore. I blame realism, because your imagination should fill in the blanks of the lacking realism. It makes you involved. I truly blame Realism...

Because I'm thirtheenth on the list in Belgium's Game Mania and even though I want only one Wii, I'm not even sure right now that I'm getting one. Game Mania has sent out emails to the stores that they will try to fill the preorders as much as they can, any preorder placed after yesterday will get one after the 8th. I'm 13th out of 49 so if they do their best the chances are high I'm in; i'm just not sure...
