Stocka Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 I'm suprised this hasn't been mentioned yet. http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30000-1240877,00.html A series of small tsunami waves have hit the coast of Japan after a large underwater earthquake prompted fears that coastal regions would be deluged by a killer wave. Thousands of people living near the sea on the northern island of Hokkaido were urged to flee to higher ground. Experts issued a tsunami warning for parts of Japan - and the Russian coast - after the 8.1-magnitude quake in the Kuril islands, about 1,000 miles from Tokyo.
triforce_keeper Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 OMG THINK OF ALL TEH WII'S WHAT WILL BE KILLED!!!!! Ok jokes aside, I really do hope that no one is hurt also.
Hellfire Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Japan is pretty unlucky when it comes to natural disasters. Well, it doesn't have to do with luck so much as to geographical position, but whatever.
Guest Jordan Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Wheres Godzilla? I mean, yeah this is pretty bad news the poor Japanese.
dabookerman Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Im sure the Japanese have it under control. Its not like they have the wealth of a 3rd world country to contest with.
Fields Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Yes, I sure hope no one was hurt by those 40cm waves
Eenuh Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Yeah, they predicted 2 meter waves, but they ended up being a lot smaller. So pretty much false alarm. Luckily.
dabookerman Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 My thoughts are with them during this Dark Time
Gaijin von Snikbah Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Well, you never know. It could have been much worse. Its a good thing that Nintendo was not hurt in any way.
dabookerman Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Nintendo are based in kyoto It would take a big fucking tsunami to reach there. Im talking
Nintendork Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Everything built in the last 30 years in Japan has been tested for worst case scenarios. It wont be as bad as New Orleans or anything. They invest in their infastructure to ensure that quakes and waves don't screw up their day to day lives. Worth case scenarios are a few people will die and some houses will have to be refurnished I imagine.
