Zombie_Fan Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Does the Japanese like the Wii? It seems to me that the Japanese want the PS3 more then the Wii. I’m just worried about the Wii turning out to be a failure. The Wii is a great console. I don’t want to see it fail. What do you guys think? Will the Japanese accept the Wii, or will they over look it? I know this is a very stupid question. I just want to know what you guys think. I worry too much.
Twilight Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Japan is the last thing to worry about, imo. It may be possible that DS´s huge success won´t turn Wii into a huge success, but at least Nintendo is the "cool thing" in Japan right now. When Nintendo recently started Wii´s marketing campaign on Japanese TV, only hours later people on the streets were talking how Nintendo has a new console coming out. That´s a pretty good sign, don´t you think? If you want to worry about something, worry about NA or Europe because that´s were Wii is more likely to fail. But, it´s also possible that there might be slightly more important things in life to worry about than how well some game console sells in some country.
Zombie_Fan Posted October 17, 2006 Author Posted October 17, 2006 You made a good point Twilight. Their are more important things in life to worry about. Oh no I'm turning into a.......VIDEO GAME NERD!
DiemetriX Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 you are just impotent Caris.. -- Wii wil be fine. And it will no doubt sell better than PS3 in the start. There's a big chance of Wii beeing just as big a success as the DS is.
raven_blade2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 No major worries about Wii selling well in Japan. Its America and Europe that are of more concern, Nintendo must capture the imagination of the public in these Sony infested areas.
gj15987 Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 TBH I like Nintendo being the under dogs. I'd hate it if all the chavs started buying Wiis instead of PS3s.
martinist Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Sony has a hold on Europe and the Americas which is grate in a way. It just means there are more Wiis for mii, i don't think the Wii will fail in any way in Europe because all the other Nintendo consoles did so well over here, except for maybe the Gamecube which got a price drop pretty early on in its life
DCK Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 There's no way the Wii will 'fail', there are plenty of Nintendo fans all over the world to prevent another Dreamcast. I'm pretty sure though the Wii will kickstart a Nintendo home console revival though, and Japan should be huge in that.
c0Zm1c Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 The Wii is a great console. How do you know? There's a [slim] chance it could be crap. I'm hoping it is great - I'm relying on it to rekindle my waning interest in console gaming [where the Xbox 360 has failed] - but we don't know if the Wii is any good yet. It looks like it'll be good though.

Tyson Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 you are just impotent Caris..-- Caris can't have babies? I'm so sorry to hear that!
Zechs Merquise Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Wii has the best chance in Japan, I think it could even reclaim that territory for Nintendo, it may even eclipse the DS, who knows. But I can't see the same thing happening in Europe or the US...
blender Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Honestly the wii will fail. Everyonoe loves a looser. So you probably wont care that much if they were sucessful. So better they fail. At least better than the sailing in windinwaker anyway. You can be a member of the exclusive nintnedo club. We are all looser from the moment we bought a gamecube.
