Zell Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 The number of the beast is probably their best, closely followed by Powerslave and Piece Of Mind. 'Life And Death is another good album but nowhere near as good as those.
Atomic Boo Posted September 4, 2006 Author Posted September 4, 2006 I got the album today and think its quite good, although didnt live up to my expectations. I think it's because the guitars and bass arent that notice-able and sound a bit to weak against the drumming. Either that or the riffs arent so great. But hey, its still a good album. Actually Ive changed my mind. After listening to it a few times I think this album rocks. It almost matches Powerslave imo And i dont know why soag and bard are being so critical. listen to it more than once. Its a great record

It almost matches Powerslave imo And i dont know why soag and bard are being so critical. listen to it more than once. Its a great record Been listening to it continuously for the last week, it's not bad or anything, just not as good as the classics. Ok, just went out and bought the album for real, and listening to it in order, it is really growing on me...it's simple but great. Listening to the album version of The Reincarnation...and it's a lot better than the version I've been listening to...wierd...singings still a bit off key...actually...no, this song's still a bit poor...
Atomic Boo Posted September 4, 2006 Author Posted September 4, 2006 I always feel the CD somehow sounds better... Every time.
conzer16 Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Stuck this on in the night club the other night when I was cleaning up. Was pretty impressed overall. Dunno what tracks were played (it was on shuffle) but sounds good.
Mokong Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Stuck this on in the night club the other night. At that point i thought you were gonna say you work as a DJ and played Iron Maiden during you set, i wish Night Clubs would play some rock music, instead of all that radio friendly pop and/or hip-hop RnB (at which point everyone seems to think they're black... unless they are black in which case its fine)
conzer16 Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 The heaviest tune I can persuade the DJ to play is Thunderstruck. Although in the lounge (downstairs in the pub) we got one of those touchscreen jukeboxes and I usually try keep the tunes towards the heavier end of the spectrum GnR, Velvet Revolver, (certain) Maiden tunes, Foos etc etc. Cant have it too heavy so intermingle those with Bell X1, Hendrix, Sting, Beatles.....

conzer16 Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Hey Mokong.....have you ever been to Bruxelles in Dublin? It's just off Grafton Street. Wicked Metal club! \m/
Atomic Boo Posted September 9, 2006 Author Posted September 9, 2006 Man why dont people talk about this album, it rocks! every song apart from 3 are classics! the first 6 songs and for the hreater good of god are fantastic. Very Underated!
Mokong Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Hey Mokong.....have you ever been to Bruxelles in Dublin? It's just off Grafton Street. Wicked Metal club! \m/ Never even heard of it, when i go to Dublin don't usually go to "clubs", more of a hang out in my cousins house kinda thing, have some drinks and whatever there. Maybe one day i'll try check it out though, i'll make a note of it on my phone. I'm still loving thos album by the way, i just can't get enough of "Greater Good of God", i really hope hey play this in Dublin in December
Atomic Boo Posted November 5, 2006 Author Posted November 5, 2006 YAY! Their tour is coming to the UK very soon! I got the AMOLAD t-shirt for my birthday and my tickets arrived just last week so im all geared up. Cant wait! And now, after listening to it loads and loads i think this new album compares to any of their previous songs. legendary music. anyone else going to see them? I'm going on the 23rd in Earls Court (last UK tour date) so they should be putting on one of their best performances. What about you guys? they are playing the new album in its entirety from start to finish, then playing a few of their more 'classic' tracks. i think this is a great decision, because its a change from playing the same old material that we've heard time and time again. also, there will be a huge eddie with binoculars and a gun, plus a hefty tank. gonna be amazing!

soag Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 They cant play the new album in its entirity as it sucks balls, I want classic maiden, come on irons dont fail me.
The Bard Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 They cant play the new album in its entirity as it sucks balls, I want classic maiden, come on irons dont fail me. It's not that bad, but nowhere near good enough for them to play the album in it's entirety, infact, no Maiden albums are good enough for that. Nintendork is an incredibly annoying tool.
Nintendork Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Hahahahahahah Results 1 - 10 of about 763,000 for iron maiden cheesy. (0.24 seconds)
Zell Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 They cant play the new album in its entirity as it sucks balls, I want classic maiden, come on irons dont fail me. It's gonna happen, they've done it on all their concerts so far. I'm not too bothered though, over half the songs are fantastic. Going to the NEC, and it sold out aages ago: peace: .

You should have gone to the last gig so, they only played stuff off their first 4 albums, the only downside to this was no "Fear of the Dark" There's a few songs on the new album i'd like to hear live but i'd like to hear more stuff from previous albums
Mr. Bananagrabber Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 The new album is fantastic. Best since the X Factor without a doubt. Powerslave, Number of the Beast and Seventh Son are so overrated it hurts a bit. And I refuse to acknowledge anyone's opinion on a piece of entertainment from someone who likes Napoleon Dynamite :P

Number of the beast is easily the best Maiden album...c'mon, for Children of The Damned alone...
