Zombie_Fan Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 Don’t think I’m a Nintendo fanboy for making this comment. I think the Wii is almost a perfect game console (at least perfect for my taste). It seems like to me that the Wii has more pros then cons. Sure it can’t push out the same level of graphics as the PS3 and 360 (I might be wrong), but I don’t care about that. The PS3 graphics were good, but they did not blow me away. I am an owner of a 360. The 360 game graphics look nice, but I don’t find the games very fun. Monster graphics and HD don’t make an awesome game. Great graphics and monster gameplay do. I have not played videogames for the last two months. The new games are becoming a bore. It seems like all games are the same. Same gameplay and control. I want something new. I remember the days when my dad and I use to play the SNES together. My dad stop playing videos games when the controllers become too complicated. The Wiimote is so simple. I think the Wii will bring back the fun of playing videogames to my dad. I made a list of all the pros and cons that I can think of that the Wii has. Pros 1. Wiimote 2. Opera 3. Online play 4. Fast Loading 5. Online Chatting (I hope) 6. Nintendo’s game line up 7. Design 8. Virtual Console 9. Wifi out of the box 10. The price 11. Connect 24 12. Eye Candy Graphics A link for those of you that don’t know what eye candy is. http://media.wii.ign.com/media/811/811577/img_3684374.html Cons 1. The Graphics aren’t as good as the PS3 and 360 2. No HD DVD player 3. Might not have 5.1 surround sound 4. No HD 5. Not as powerful as the PS3 and 360
SpinesN Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 Points 1 and 5 are the same for the cons as are 2 and 4 :p
Goron_3 Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 I think we're all feeling really positive about the Wii It's going to be simply amazing!
SpinesN Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 Well... his pros no perfect either :P 1. Good pro 2. Good pro 3. Moot (every console has it) 4. Speculation 5. Speculation 6. Good pro 7. Good pro 8. Good pro 9. Not sure why it matters (IMO) 10. Good pro 11. As it stands all we know about it is that it keeps the wii online. Thus any pros are speculation 12. Moot (developer dependent) Sorry to tear your pros and cons appart but read over your stuff before posting to make sure it is clear and as you want it.
The Bard Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 Yeah, point, I mean, the gamecube had REmake and that had the best graphics I've ever seen on any console, I don't necessarily think that graphics need to get any better than that, If WII can produce that in Real Time, then im a happy camper. I think It's best to let graphics reach a saturation point with graphics and power, and then consoles won't need to be released every 5 years, we could see the same consoles holding out for 20 years or so, So I think Nintendo is taking the right approach.

Online play is a pro for the Wii because the Gamecube had almost no online play. 4. You are right it is a speculation 5. I know it’s a speculation that’s why I said “I hope” at the end 9. It matters to me. At my house we only have Wireless internet. 11. I think some developers will put a good use to Connect 24 12. I think the Wii can pull that off By the way, I do read over my stuff before I post it. The name of the thread is “What I think of the Wii”.

Blue_Ninja0 Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 9. Not sure why it matters (IMO) Why shouldn't it matter? Isn't wireless way better than wired? It's a pros, you don't have to buy any adaptor for the Wii and stuff because it has it outside of the box. = GOOD

It's a pros, you don't have to buy any adaptor for the Wii and stuff because it has it outside of the box. = GOOD The local Wal-Mart wants $100 for a xbox 360 wifi adaptor:cry:. Im sorry but $100 is to much. Wifi out of the box sounds great:) .

I was refering more to the idea of it having a dongle like the 360. That alone would not sway ANYONE'S opinion of the wii It's more of a nice extra than a system maker.

That alone would not sway ANYONE'S opinion of the wii It's more of a nice extra than a system maker. Well, i still think wifi out of the box and the option of wired internet with the adaptor is better than wired out of the box and the option of buying a dongle. And if you don't have a wireless router:
Guest Stefkov Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 Oh how that Dongle has helped me so much, I ove nintendo and their derish, but resonably priced merchandise made in mind for the Wii to also work on
DCK Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 resonably priced merchandise$30 for the dongle is a complete ripoff Like it or not, Nintendo made serious cash over network newbies with that one.
Guest Stefkov Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 $30 for the dongle is a complete ripoff Like it or not, Nintendo made serious cash over network newbies with that one. yeah i know, they made some serious money selling that
Blue_Ninja0 Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 yeah, but a router will cost you twice as much. True, but it offers much more than twice of the utility. Although it's useless to anyone that does not have a home network. Check this out: http://www.usbwifi.orcon.net.nz/ If you want to set up a network between your house and a m8 of yours, as long you have LOS and it's less than 10 KM...
DCK Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 yeah, but a router will cost you twice as much. A better USB Wifi dongle (one you can use for other things as well) will cost you half. All it doesn't have is Nintendo's software, which makes things a tiny bit harder to set up. I can't believe how many got tricked in buying it, such a ripoff
