Personally, I would have just delayed publication of the screens with an explanation why rather than rush out ad-hoc shots that could give the game a bad impression. DCK Posted June 1, 2006 Share Posted June 1, 2006 I have very little confidence in this game. It seems to me they are a typical starting developer being way too overconfident. They boasted with their three titles in development, artwork, story, and are willing to release 'beta' screenshots to get some attention. It seems to me they want too much at the same time, and that's not the way to do it. Beta screenshots don't look nearly that bad for a modern game. I think those were quick renders of some 3D model just to give an illusion they have working graphics yet. Ten quid say this game will never be released. They are taking a wrong approach. Now that we're back into a lull they want us to stroke their egos again. We'll see next week, but like most readers I put these guys on my "We just want our 15 minutes of fame"/vaporware list. N64 was no were near as good as this...and its still and early build of the game..Who knows how good it will look when its done.. Right now if the game is good and looked like that then i would buy it.. It not a opinion its just stright bashing the game...unless there is a n64 game that looked as good as that...i dont know what n64 u were playing... then u call it crappy without even playing it... its not the finished game it just a test animation from 8 months ago...I have been really looking forward to this game and have been following it for a long time... it can be a sleeper hit really.. I find it strange that she seems to have a different personality in the model though, because she looks pretty pissed in the concept art. But hey no really bad points to talk of. Walk cycle is looking pretty nice. She has a nice feminine prance in it. But the dagger slash doesnt look good. There's NO anticipation on the initial slash and her stance is very relaxed and generally looks wrong. It makes her look as if she's doing it really casually and it's also made pretty wooden by the fact that her body doesn't flex that much. Sorry for being so technical and damaging about the animation but these look loike basic mistakes to me. I recon I could do better than that by next year, cos I know I could hand-drawn animate it better and I've only been doing that a year. The animation is very much of student standard. They didn't have to release those screens or that video until it was completed. How do they even expect to be taken seriously.
