Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

One thing though, I swear this game looks Identical to it's Gamecube predacessor, can't the Wii really do any better?

A) Well, you swear wrong. Combat sequences actually have more much details on characters and have more complex effects.

B) JRPG strategy genre hasn't never been that heavy on graphics and flashy effects.

C) Fire Emblem games have always recycled graphics from previous games if it is possible. This shouldn't be surprise to anyone.

D) You must understand that this is Intelligent Systems's second "true" 3D game and they don't really have that much experience on that side.

P.S. Constant complaining about Wii's horsepower tends to get bit annoying, especially as nothing won't change it. If you don't like Wii, there is always other choices.

Looks pretty cool, might pick this up if there's a games drought during the summer.

to be fair the graphics arent going to be miles better, eye candy isnt really a Fire Emblem thing but that SS looks amazing!

Out of interest, what are the chances of the Jap release having an English language option? Im guessing slim?

Would be nice in Nintendo could release a patch to make the Jap text English (not a proper conversion, just a 'fed through a translation program' sort of thing)

Nicked from Cubed3...

Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn

The game is a Japanese name, may change for Western regions.

Direct sequel to the GC hit, Path of Radiance, taking place 3 years after the events between Crimea and Daein.

Game follows a band of freedom fighters from Daein who oppose the nation of Begnion.

Completely different cast except Sothe and his sister.

New obstacles include “mutlilevel battlefieldsâ€. No release date is set and how the game will use the Wiimote is unknown.

Fire emblem has no loading screens whatsoever, despite needing to load new music, any two of hundreds of available models and several of hundreds of possible animations in about 1/10th of a second, play them, then load the map screen with the dozens of characters, the previous music and map animations in another 1/10th of a second. If Xbox 360 had the same amount of RAM as Wii does it wouldn't be able to do the exact same game that fast even with the 12x DVD drive, DVD drives don't have access speeds fast enough. Nintendo have used specialised disc drives to try to eliminate loading times in games, and most of the time that means very low access speeds, especially when you're streaming. That's why Gamecube load times were orders of magnitude smaller than Xbox loading times, despite DVD having double the transfer speed of GCs GOD drive, Gamecube has much faster eccess times.

No offense but I don't care about loading times.

I wouldn't mind waiting half a minute for the game to load up with better graphics.

You wouldn't mind loading times between every single character animation? Lol, k.

Hey I've never played the games, I thought I might try the series with this as my starting point.

But congratulations, I think I'll just put the £40 towards this into the 360 fund instead. :hehe:

Ugh, no, retard. There isn't any loading times between character animations now, but there would be were the graphics significantly better.

Who cares, Fire Emblem is not graphics driven, and this team lacks the proper experience, I mean... Path of Radiance was their first 3D title, and it shows, said that, this one seems to come improved in that front.

Admitedly no one praised the graphics (in FE: PoR), but then again, the characters were far away in the screen, there was no slowdown and the artwork and cutscenes were very nice. It didn't look awesome but it didn't look horrible aswell.

Sure, it's not pushing Wii, but it's fine as it is.

I'd rather have 44 missions than 11 for the better graphics, since graphics take time and resources.

Without a doubt one of my most anticipated titles for Wii, I wish it came out here in February.

To be honest, I think it visually looks fantastic, couldn't look much better without messing with the formula of PoR and i'm glad they're not doing that.

I agree, I've already stated my approval for the graphics earlier in this thread. But seriously, they'r great and a big improvement on the GC version.
