Pit-Jr Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 ...........and $48 for a dual-layer (25 gig and 50gig respectively) http://www.engadget.com/2006/05/05/sony-ships-25gb-blu-ray-recordables-50gb-to-come-in-june/ Am i right to wonder just how much a PS3 game is gonna cost? I dont know how much that translates to in Euros but that sounds ridiculous
gaggle64 Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 That's pretty damn high for a single disk. PS3s high dev costs are going to force gamers to really shell out for it too.
triforcemario Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 When I originally read this, I bust out laughing, how Sony plan to release the PS3 with a blu-ray drive worth 1000$, and games costing about 70$, Sony will (most likely) fall.
Shorty Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 The disks will probably cost 5 dollars to produce... Indeed. When blank DVDs first appeared on the market, they cost a fortune each too - despite only costing a few cents each to manufacture, mass produced in the millions.
Blue_Ninja0 Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 solution - use PS2 discs. I thought Ken said that PS3 games will be exclusively on BlueRay for piracy protection issues.
Mr_Odwin Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Dual layer dvds are still relatively expensive for decent ones. But most commercial movies are produced on dual layer and are sold cheaply. For example.
